Unfortunate reminder of the existence of thicc pikachu. Ginger Dorothy is shiny Dorothy, technically. The foil Dorothy is more correctly known as Holo Dorothy.
At least Becky didn’t go Full Dorothy; that it’s not a silhouette or color match is a good thing. Maybe she and Ruth should change clothes to increase Becky’s Dorothy quotient.
Between this and Joyce just wearing all of her clothes I guess it is faster to draw if Willis just make every white girl look like Dorothy. Next we’ll see her with glasses
Dotty should grow out her hair, the variety is apparently needed. Longer than shoulder length tho so she doesn’t just look like Amber again. Wavy (i think her hair is naturally wavy? It’s looked like it has too long to just be messy) long hair would look cute on her.
Alternatively get a bisexual undercut but that feels less her style
If that’s right, then this would be Becky’s version of Joyce pretending to be Jacob’s girlfriend? In the sense of “I’m atheist so everything’s on the table now”?
Let’s be honest here. Half the ladies in the cast are a short woman between 5’1 and 5’5 with short to mid length hair. Glasses and freckles as optional accessory traits. What we really need to be asking is what are the subtle differences in each of their identical movesets that makes them unique. Like I bet Becky’s forward smash has more power but less range.
It’s a reasonable interpretation of events, but I wouldn’t call it certain yet. Personally, my guess would be that Becky thinks she got dumped, while Dina doesn’t think she dumped Becky and is waiting to see what Becky does.
I am in agreement. Largely in part because I would not expect Dina to end a relationship through implication. It doesn’t really align with her communication style.
I mean, I think that could also be because she’s incredibly hurt and confused by Becky’s reaction to Joyce/Dorothy and feels conflicted about their relationship to where she wants to distance herself from things that are a direct connection to it (i.e., the “bed” they shared). Doesn’t inherently mean that the relationship *is* over, just that she’s been hurt by Becky’s actions.
I think even if Dina did not actually dump her (I’m uncertain), Becky in her current mental state would almost certainly *believe* she did. She said “if yer gonna leave me, just do it. […] The problem is me.” Dina said “Yes, it is,” and left.
Right but she didn’t say, “I am breaking up with you.” or (imo) even imply it. She said, “Yes. You are the problem. You are correct in that understanding of what you’ve done here.” And then she left *without* saying anything about breaking up. I think Dina is direct enough and responds to things literally/straightforwardly enough that if she had intended to break up with Becky after Becky literally asked her to “Just so it”, she would have done so explicitly.
Yeah, that is actually why I am not 100% certain that they are broken up. I more so mean that I think it’s reasonable if *Becky*, in her doom spiral, does think she was dumped.
I’m sorry but they were genuinely in a good place before the breakup where their relationship was none of those things. Stuff changes over time. You don’t have to like it, you don’t have to become a fan, but it is silly to deny that the writing was clearly portraying their relationship as having become healthy prior to the breakup.
‘floofiness’ aside i think it also looks a bit like leslie’s but i suppsoe there’s only so much you can do with short hair besides crew cut/pixiecut and a bob cut
Oh I REALLY like her short hair. I know a sudden impulsive haircut is usually a Sign of something but to be honest if this gets some impulsiveness out of her system harmlessly I’m cool with it.
I can’t believe Becky got another haircut, instead of fully funding the Kickstarter for [latest indie video game with a hinted-to-be-queer character in the trailer] all by herself. What a selfish pile.
Discover the Great Pile of Lesbos — Marvel of the Ancient World
Rising from the sunlit heart of the Aegean, the Great Pile of Lesbos stands as a testament to the bold ambition, sexual freedom and playful spirit of the ancient artisans who built it. Once counted among the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, this immense terraced mound of marble and limestone statues is said to have been constructed both as a shrine to the island’s women, their creative soul and as a celebration of the earth mother herself.
Visitors can wander winding stone ramps that once echoed with the songs of poets and philosophers, tracing the legacy of a culture that blended artistry, myth, and nature into one breathtaking monument. More than a relic — it’s a living mystery. Come stand where history piles high, and imagination reaches higher still.
i’m sure layering is possible but it’s not like her undercut was a full buzz on the side shave /she simply doesn’t have as much tucked behind her ear but as far as hairstyles go it doesn’t seem too unrealistic , like how billiefer has a bob now, which is technically long enough to put into a ponytail like we’ve seen but the ponytail is a bit ‘thicker’ than it’d look irl so it’s more of teh artsstyle.
No, if you’ll take a look at panels 1 and 4 of the previous comic with Becky, you can clearly see her left side already the right length for this hair cut, so all she needed to do was cut the right side to match, no magic involved.
Is that original-flavor Super Saiyan, Powerhouse Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Grade 2, Super Saiyan Grade 3, Full Power Super Saiyan, Legendary Super Saiyan, A-Type Super Saiyan, C-Type Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan 4 (GT), Super Saiyan 4 (Daima), Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Blue, Super Saiyan Blue Evolved, Super Saiyan Blue Perfected, Super Saiyan Rosé, Spirit Bomb Super Saiyan, Pseudo Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken x20, or perhaps Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker?
Did Becky intentionally get her hair cut to look similar to Dorothy? That’s better than moping in her room I guess, but still not a very healthy way to deal with this situation.
It has some distinguishing features (Dorothy’s hair is round on top), but I’m gonna wait until a character comments on it to decide whether it actually looks like Dorothy’s hair in-universe or not.
I think it’s similar enough but also different enough, and Becky had a limit on how long she could go…
Plus, it’s also more femininely styled, which could be its own red flag.
I’ll miss you Undercut Becky, and not just because you didn’t come with worrying psychological implications
Question for the lesbians! Do we consider Becky and Dina butch4butch since they seem to generally prefer masc clothing, or are elsewhere on the butch-femme spectrum?
isn’t butch also more an attitude than look? dina doesn’t seem to care much about gender presenting standards other than her dino fashion, but idk if she’d call herself that
Yeah, I was thinking Becky was something like a soft butch (iirc she wore a dress to their old church) but then I remembered Dina in the suit and that got me wondering.
Top predators are actually easy to sneak up on, because it’s not efficient to spend energy and biological resources to counter something that nobody’s going to try and regret it if they do.
It’s why, e.g., you should be making noise if you’re trailing bear country, because if a bear happens to walk out of the woods coming from upwind it’s going to get startled, and startled bears unhesitatingly try to claw your face off.
i didn’t mind the side /asymeetrical tho i was never too fond of the ‘butch lesbian’ undercut tho it can look alright if not too closely shaven. (Tho if i was less shallow about my hair i’d prolly shave it off completely in summers) her new hair is cute tho
Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an audience so keen to see characters transition. Has there been anything to suggest Becky is on that path? I don’t think so.
Anecdotally I don’t think it’s that uncommon for webcomics that are sufficiently queer.
I think the impulse generally gets put into headcanons and fanfic in fandoms for more mainstream properties where the odds of a character transitioning are basically nil, but if you put transition on the table people might start theorycrafting about it
Ehhhhh, the strips talking about Dina possibly realizing she’s a man someday could also be read as projection from Becky potentially being uncomfortable about her gender if you read it broadly. Like, it’s not about that, but if that were a direction Willis wanted to take Becky then that strip could be reread as that without too much work (it would also work the same for Dina.) Her story has involved a lot of discussion on fluidity of both sexuality and gender fairly recently.
Ngl, it was also my first thought when I saw the new haircut because it was indeed similar to the first haircut I got when I started questioning my gender. Though the only character in the comic (that currently identifies as cis) I’ve ever gotten potential egg vibes off of is Billie.
I remember a lot of bigoted people who hated Becky and particularly her hair-style and really wished she would change it (some people are really normal about one-sided buzz-cut) and I guess they got their “monkey-paw” wish granted, there.
I loved Becky’s undercut though felt it was starting to look a bit ridiculous with how long and fluffy the long fluffy side was, starting to be the platonic ideal of a floppy cockatiel.
I have no opinions on the new hair or this storyline
it IS reminiscent of dorothy’s haircut, but also of becky’s original hair? it’s a lot fluffier (which could be down to the artstyle changing) but the length is roughly the same. i think that’s an even more intriguing angle for me – is she in some way reverting back to her old self?
Well, this kills any theory that there was going to be a big time skip after Dina and Becky’s breakup. But does this new hairdo mean that Becky is moving on (which would be really weird because less than 24 hours have passed since the revelation that her long-standing crush is dating her archrival) or that Becky is now determined to “steal” Joyce from Dorothy the way Dorothy “stole” Joyce from her.
Though, really, with Joyce’s worst personality traits cranked up to 11 right now, I don’t see why Becky would even want to TALK to her, let alone woo her.
I think broadly, Becky just sees herself as broken and undesireable and wanted to do something to change herself. I doubt the fact that it looks like dorothy is an explicitly conscious choice on her part
Lot of talk about Becky taking Dorothy’s hairstyle. I was a little skeptical until noticing that she’s also wearing Dorothy’s shirt style?! Joyce took on that style too when they got together didn’t she?
They are not broken up, but they are fighting. If Dina wanted to break up with Becky, she is the kind of person who would do so directly and unambiguously.
I find it very interesting that Dorothy while still avoiding Becky decided to at least have Ruth check in on her while Joyce her supposed has continued to not think about Becky at all. I’m not saying Joyce should or has too, I continue to believe Becky’s crisis is entirely self inflicted, I just think it’s an interesting character study seeing how Joyce and Dorothy operate around people they’ve hurt.
Dorothy: Guilt, avoidance, but still thoughtful and concerned
Joyce: Out of sight out of mind lol. Maybe future Joyce will feel bad.
I don’t think Dorothy’s concern is full about her room though, with the “I didn’t mean to steal her from you” line or the fact that she thought about Becky as someone needing to be told on the same level as Joe and Walky
Joyce is thinking about Becky though. She mentioned Becky by name in the stolen valor strip. It seems pretty clear that guilt over Becky is playing a major role in her “I’m not really gay, real gay people are heroes and I’m not,” thing.
That strip doesn’t imply she feels any guilt about Becky. In fact she states quite the opposite. If she’s thinking about Becky at all it’s only in falsely associating her gayness along with Ethan’s as some sort of template for authentic gay life experience by being sad or having a tragic backstory or trauma. It’s not “My actions caused my friend strife and I feel bad about that.” it’s “She’s a better gay than me because she’s sad and I’m not.”
It looks to me (based on a single strip in an ongoing daily publication) like Becky has decided to just exist. If this was me doing it, the correct interpretation would be that I’m simply going to hide and no longer make myself the main character. I would also fail at that several times over the years, but that’s still potentially in the future for Becky.
And that’s why relationship is so scary. They both took parts of each other, so when they broke apart, it us feeling like a body being ripped off, by the extend of suffering from both.
😔😢
I liked her previous shaggy lopsided haircut! I like the fact that she got a haircut (for the drama potential) but I agree that it’s a visual downgrade.
Congrats to Becky on either undergoing a perfectly healthy change in appearance that can sometimes be cathartic when you’re going through hard times or an incredibly unhealthy attempt to imitate Dorothy in some kind of quest to seduce Joyce.
Waiting until this plays out before venturing a guess as to which one.
Did anyone else get a full page ad here? It covered part of the strip on mobile, genuinely difficult to scroll to the comment section too.
Also, love the cut. I don’t see too much Dotty but I also hope it’s not the start of poor Becky crisis-spiralling. Ruth might be a good person for her to talk to though, given their comminality in crush woes and parent issues.
YOOOO she cut her hair MUCH earlier than I thought she would!
Oh dear… :0
Where did Becky go and who is this new character?
Lol I did legit not realize it was her for a hot second
I mean she’s needed a haircut for in-universe weeks, if anything this is overdue.
Not that I’m one to cast stones
she cut her hair in probably the most problematic style she could have, this is not only a ploy that wont work, but Dina will notice. ~<3
My worst guess is that both Dina and Joyce notice.
“problematic haircut”????
ohh….it’s the dorothy cut ;-;
length aside it reminds me more of walky’s hair than dorothy
That also means it’s an Asher cut
I was thinking, “Hey, that looks pretty good and I’m taking this as a positive development.” Then I read your comment. 🙁
Looks great, as long as she doesn’t dye it blonde… agreed with the others it looks more mussed/fluffy like Walky or Asher than how Dorothy wears hers.
For comparison: here’s Dorothy’s hair at just about its messiest:
https://www.dumbingofage.com/2025/comic/book-16/01-not-so-smooth-criminals/thetruth/
What is problematic about this hairstyle?
August 23, 1937
Paris, France
Look it up, you’ll put the pieces together.
The signing of the Paladin / Sicko pact?
It’s, uh, dorothyesque.
Fuckin hell.
“Dorothy-mander isn’t real, she can’t hurt you.”
They gunna fuck
wow
[*] Classic Dorothy
[*] Thicc Dorothy
[*] Ginger Dorothy
[ ] Shiny Dorothy
Smear some vaseline on Jennifer, I guess
The makeup will come off and we’ll see it’s been Mike all the time.
Shiny Dorothy is President Doris
This really plays in to my theory that it’s actually Becky who is going to end up running for President some day.
The Four Dorothsmen of the (Joyce’s Sexuality) Apocalypse?
Gotta catch ‘em all.
Shit, I can’t unsee it now.
…….is it mean-spirited to say that Becky wears it better, or
Is it mean-spirited? Yes.
… is it true? Also yes.
shit, it does doesn’t it
Between this and Joyce just wearing all of her clothes I guess it is faster to draw if Willis just make every white girl look like Dorothy.
Nah, she needs the sort of daring that led her to charge onto a tear gas-filled campus quad.
I’m thinking… Mohawk. Dyed for Pride.
If that’s right, then this would be Becky’s version of Joyce pretending to be Jacob’s girlfriend? In the sense of “I’m atheist so everything’s on the table now”?
Becky. . . gurl, please stop, don’t cosplay thr girl you wants gf. it never ends well lol
Occasionally it ends in popcorn.
The Venn diagram between Dottie and Becky has been very circular from the get-go. She just needs a pair of glasses to compete.
And to have not grown up with Joyce.
Becky went to the hairdresser and said “give me The Atheist”
Nooo… you ruined it.
Can’t it be closer to Amber?
I did not at all clock that.
There is nothing to be alarmed about until she start wearing glasses.
5’3 is average height, 5’5 is above average.
Not really. More like Walky’s.
Oops, All Gingers!
Oops all orphan, queer gingers.
Yay, All Gingers!
Oh my gosh, she Dorothy-ed herself.
She’s going to become president.
Becky’s learning from Dina about how to be stealthy, so if nothing else that’s a good sign.
also Ruth has gone soft dating ghat one guy. She’s losing her edge of suicidal bisexual pact keen senses.
I do believe Jason has moved on
So you’re saying Becky x Ruth is an option?
He hasn’t appeared in a while but I think they’re still together
not like this…😔🥲😢
Cute haircut is cute!!
Looks really good!
Nice ‘do! // Man, Hiveworks really needs to fix that awful server time-drift!
her heartbreak haircuts are trending shorter and shorter huh
excited to see her go for a buzzcut the next time she gets dumped
HAS she been dumped? Why does everyone think Dina and Becky have split up?
It’s a reasonable interpretation of events, but I wouldn’t call it certain yet. Personally, my guess would be that Becky thinks she got dumped, while Dina doesn’t think she dumped Becky and is waiting to see what Becky does.
I was going to say we think it, first because of the two strips starting at https://www.dumbingofage.com/2025/comic/book-16/01-not-so-smooth-criminals/proof/
And then the strip at https://www.dumbingofage.com/2025/comic/book-16/01-not-so-smooth-criminals/rewarded/ .
I can’t get over the straight up horror movie lighting Willis gave to this scene
I am in agreement. Largely in part because I would not expect Dina to end a relationship through implication. It doesn’t really align with her communication style.
dina slept on the floor instead of on the dinosaur last night, those two are incredibly joever
unless we hold out hope for the theory that the dinosaur is in dire need of washing, and reeks of dirty deeds.
… done dirt cheap?
There is no way that giant ass dinosaur is dirt cheap.
and that’s why they charged it to the DeSanto campaign.
hasn’t stopped her every night since their first sex!
“Joever” certainly hits different re: recent events with Joe huh.

I’m a fan of the hair over her eyes. Always did like that.
Have you ever tried cutting your hair longer? It takes a while!
new haircut new you
Twist. The new Becky turns Joyce on.
Don’t trust post crisis of faith haircuts.
It isn’t yet post crisis and it’s really a lack-of-faith haircut.
Don’t trust the English language.
at least she didn’t liek dye it lime green
Oh hey these two could bond over how a bisexual (in denial) girl broke their hearts.
When did Jennifer break Ruth’s heart? Ruth went to great lengths to break up with Jennifer for no reason.
And then Jennifer let her, even though she had previously promised not to.
And melodrama was unconfined.
I mean their relationship was violent, abusive, and toxic.
And Ruth only broke up because she thought she was dragging Jennifer down.
I’m sorry but they were genuinely in a good place before the breakup where their relationship was none of those things. Stuff changes over time. You don’t have to like it, you don’t have to become a fan, but it is silly to deny that the writing was clearly portraying their relationship as having become healthy prior to the breakup.
I liked their relationship but I don’t think one of them constantly trying to break up with the other is a healthy relationship
I mean, it wasn’t constant, and it stemmed from Ruth’s self-worth issues. Either way, “violent, abusive, and toxic”, it was not.
Given that Jennifer bodyslammed Ruth and other attacks….yes, violent.
And then the fact that Jennifer is a recovering alcoholic and Ruth is back to drinking.
(and vice versa at times)
I was going to add onto what Li said, but Ruth explained it better.
https://www.dumbingofage.com/2022/comic/book-12/05-this-was-halloween/happiest-2/
and the following strip
https://www.dumbingofage.com/2022/comic/book-12/05-this-was-halloween/trigger/
I’m not saying she was right to think the way she did, merely that this was her actual stated reason.
She had a reason, it was just a bad idea.
Fair enough, it was for no good reason.
“Look at me. I’m the Dorothy now.”
Came here to say I like Becky’s new haircut even though I hope it doesn’t mean anything bad about her mental state.
Didn’t realize the resemblance to Dorothy until it was pointed out.
Dorothy has a basic enough haircut that if anyone in the dumbingverse accused Becky of copying her on purpose I would think they were reaching
huh, she looks. huh.
I don’t hate it actually, she lowkey rocks it but also I can’t unsee that now she’s just Briefs from PSG
I was thinking Robin from Stranger Things.
She looks like a soccer mom who’s gonna take the kids to McDonald’s after practice
I think this is symbolic of Becky graduating from baby-gaydom and going pro.
Something genuinely depressing about graduation into pro gay involves heartbreak.
Like Naruto abilities but regular text instead of subtext.
Yeah, this was the impression I got, too. It’s definitely a “quieter” haircut — I wonder if a corresponding personality change will follow.
Becky is symmetrical now? This is weird. I don’t think I like it.
Whoa! She has stealth hair now! Undetectable by Ruth!
(also pretty cute)
Had to compensate for the high-vis color it’s in. That has caused her some Problems before.
I liked this at first but then people pointed out how similar it is to Dorothy and now I’m just sad and concerned…
‘floofiness’ aside i think it also looks a bit like leslie’s but i suppsoe there’s only so much you can do with short hair besides crew cut/pixiecut and a bob cut
Ooh, this is the new haircut everyone was going on about from the old preview pages…
I actually think she looks really good. It suits her. Dare I say, better than her old style.
I think I still like the pre-timeskip undercut more, but her post-timeskip grown-out undercut was not a good look, although it was very in-character.
She really is a crashout haircut person, that fits her character so well
Oh I REALLY like her short hair. I know a sudden impulsive haircut is usually a Sign of something but to be honest if this gets some impulsiveness out of her system harmlessly I’m cool with it.
I wonder if enough patreons write in we can get a bonus strip of Bloomington’s hair salon.
I was gonna lament over Becky getting a straight-girl haircut.
But then realized she looks like Dor’y T-T So that wouldn’t be accurate!
(Imitating English pantomime crowd) SHE’S RIGHT BEHIND YOU!
Picked up Dina’s stealth thing, did you?
new haircut who dis
Who’s the predator, and who’s the prey in this picture?
Ruth, in her head: I won’t date another of my girls… I won’t date another…
Becky: “Come on in. How much do I need to undress for this… checkup, doc?
Ruth: “… Let’s find out.”
I so want this to happen now
The Predator is the one with the invisible-but-with-distorting-lines camoflage.
I can’t believe Becky got another haircut, instead of fully funding the Kickstarter for [latest indie video game with a hinted-to-be-queer character in the trailer] all by herself. What a selfish pile.
And just think. She never paid Joyce back for the first hair cut out of Jennifer’s money, and here she is getting anther one.
Just last week i remembered and how weird and unserious that people actually got mad about that.
Give it up for Jennifer. Doing her part to support the at risk gays! We stan and cheerleader!

I like the new ‘Do Becks.
Before or after doing Joe?
it sorta reminds me of some kinda ‘anime’ style/can imagine her in some cosplay
isn’t it a wellness check?
could be a wellsnes check
maybe a welln64 check
No, it is a Wellesley check, to see if she transferred to one of the Seven Sisters.
well she is canadian so maybe she shortened it
That cheeky face Becky makes at the end is adorable.
Dorothy is exactly the kind of person who would call the police to do a wellness check on someone
Up until 2 days ago anyway
i mean things are awkward with becky but she also seems like the one who would do the check herself
i wonder if booster has ‘psychoanalyzed’ becky yet
Kind of the reverse, sorta, a little bit.
https://www.dumbingofage.com/2020/comic/book-11/01-this-bright-millennium/ditchin/
As silent as Dina
also, nice haircut. Too bad those generally signify the end of something. Oy oy oy yo better get back with Dina y’hearme ?
Somehow she grew hair on one side that was much shorter before. She found a magic barber!
i’m sure layering is possible but it’s not like her undercut was a full buzz on the side shave /she simply doesn’t have as much tucked behind her ear but as far as hairstyles go it doesn’t seem too unrealistic , like how billiefer has a bob now, which is technically long enough to put into a ponytail like we’ve seen but the ponytail is a bit ‘thicker’ than it’d look irl so it’s more of teh artsstyle.

Chop it off one side, glue it to the other. Easy-peasy.
I believe the Lys explanation, but I prefer the Needfuldoer one.
I had to go to TVTropes and see if one of you dorks had ALREADY added it and sure enough…
what’s this?!? Becky is evolving into… ATHEIST BECKY!
But will that be her Ultimate Form?
Super Saiyan Becky
Is that original-flavor Super Saiyan, Powerhouse Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Grade 2, Super Saiyan Grade 3, Full Power Super Saiyan, Legendary Super Saiyan, A-Type Super Saiyan, C-Type Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, Super Saiyan 3, Super Saiyan 4 (GT), Super Saiyan 4 (Daima), Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Blue, Super Saiyan Blue Evolved, Super Saiyan Blue Perfected, Super Saiyan Rosé, Spirit Bomb Super Saiyan, Pseudo Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken x20, or perhaps Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Limit Breaker?
It’s obviously Super Saiyan 5: Revenge of the super. Not to be confused with Revenge of the Super Saiyan: Best serve Saiyan.
It’s beyond all that. It’s Super Salyan Taffy level.
That would be a terrible transformation. All flash, no actual power-up.
Oh god. Is that a Dorothy cut? Or am I imagining things?
See i thought the same thing and that has me concerned.
The start of the Dorothy Cult.
Second
EthanDorothy.Did Becky intentionally get her hair cut to look similar to Dorothy? That’s better than moping in her room I guess, but still not a very healthy way to deal with this situation.
Looks more similar to Walky’s hair to me, truly.
It has some distinguishing features (Dorothy’s hair is round on top), but I’m gonna wait until a character comments on it to decide whether it actually looks like Dorothy’s hair in-universe or not.
I think it’s similar enough but also different enough, and Becky had a limit on how long she could go…

I admit it, I don’t know what to think.

Hmm, I rate Becky’s fashion tomboy or futch, Dina’s androgynous or neutral.
Yeah, I was thinking Becky was something like a soft butch (iirc she wore a dress to their old church) but then I remembered Dina in the suit and that got me wondering.
She wore a dress to church under protest.
its entirely up to the individual and if they want to identify as butch or not, iirc becky might have said the word before idr.
Ruthless is aging fast if she lost that much in less than two semesters.
Maybe Willis only knows how to draw fluffy hair with a fringe one way, jeez
Becky Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
Oh wait, maybe that’s good.
well, also depends on her mental state too since the ‘hair cut after a breakup/life change’ is a pretty common trope
Hasn’t she been talking about doing it for awhile? Trying to grow the buzz out long enough to try a different style.
Oh, that’s a pretty nice haircut actually
Is’t a predator should have weak anti-sneaking senses because it sneaks?
Predators don’t like getting snuck up on either
Top predators are actually easy to sneak up on, because it’s not efficient to spend energy and biological resources to counter something that nobody’s going to try and regret it if they do.
It’s why, e.g., you should be making noise if you’re trailing bear country, because if a bear happens to walk out of the woods coming from upwind it’s going to get startled, and startled bears unhesitatingly try to claw your face off.
i didn’t mind the side /asymeetrical tho i was never too fond of the ‘butch lesbian’ undercut tho it can look alright if not too closely shaven. (Tho if i was less shallow about my hair i’d prolly shave it off completely in summers) her new hair is cute tho
altho it almost looks like it could be walky-like
Becky egg cracking???? 😍😍😍 source: me, having identical haircut journey 🤣
Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen an audience so keen to see characters transition. Has there been anything to suggest Becky is on that path? I don’t think so.
Anecdotally I don’t think it’s that uncommon for webcomics that are sufficiently queer.
I think the impulse generally gets put into headcanons and fanfic in fandoms for more mainstream properties where the odds of a character transitioning are basically nil, but if you put transition on the table people might start theorycrafting about it
Everyone wants representation, y’know?
I’ve been the deluded conductor of the trans-guy dina train for a while now. Never gonna happen but my mind is Free.
You’re on the right track. Wait til you read the strip from February 19 2026.
HELL YEAH let’s have trans Becky
Welcome to the strip Doredthy
I remember a lot of bigoted people who hated Becky and particularly her hair-style and really wished she would change it (some people are really normal about one-sided buzz-cut) and I guess they got their “monkey-paw” wish granted, there.
Dina’s stealth is transferable via hanky-panky?
I loved Becky’s undercut though felt it was starting to look a bit ridiculous with how long and fluffy the long fluffy side was, starting to be the platonic ideal of a floppy cockatiel.
I have no opinions on the new hair or this storyline
OK, Becky and Dorothy need to stop being roommates.
it IS reminiscent of dorothy’s haircut, but also of becky’s original hair? it’s a lot fluffier (which could be down to the artstyle changing) but the length is roughly the same. i think that’s an even more intriguing angle for me – is she in some way reverting back to her old self?
Which sort of brings up the question; If Joyce cheated by surrendering to an impulse, is Becky committing a premeditated cheating against Dina?
IF (again, IF) she’s trying to get Joyce, then she’d be trying to cheat on Dina, yes.
I think they’re broken up.
They are not broken up, but they are fighting. If Dina wanted to break up with Becky, she is the kind of person who would do so directly and unambiguously.
All characters eventually devolve into Dorothy, because Dorothy is perfect don’t you know.
It honestly looks to me like Beck has WALKY’S hairstyle actually. Not as smooth on top as Dorothy.
So Becky’s not going to try to steal Joyce from Dorothy; she’s gonna go after Dorothy. Diabolical.
Oh nooo not a haircut. It’s gonna take months for Becky to look like Becky again to me. It’s Joyce getting glasses all over again!
Well, Dorothy needs to think about Becky because that’s her room and it’s a toss-up on how many nights of shenanigans Sarah is willing to put with.
Joyce hasn’t thought about anyone but Dorothy or herself these last couple chapters.
She vastly improved it, Ruth! That’s what happened.
“Becky conquered the Dina’s stealth”
And that’s why relationship is so scary. They both took parts of each other, so when they broke apart, it us feeling like a body being ripped off, by the extend of suffering from both.
😔😢
I don’t think Dina believes she broke up with Becky just because she criticized her once.
But Becky could believe that.
Ohh it’s adorable
Oh, it’s manic
I love a heartbreak haircut but girl,,,,, what a downgrade. She went from like 18 to 38
Will say it looks a lot better here than in the preview panels. She needs to stay at an angle. Symmetry is just not for her
I liked her previous shaggy lopsided haircut! I like the fact that she got a haircut (for the drama potential) but I agree that it’s a visual downgrade.
oh i was worried but it looks much better than the key art. this is a super cute look
The key art really does look like she transformed into someone’s 40 something year old divorced mom
I hope Becky isn’t trying to look like Dorothy to attract Joyce because that’s:
1. Cheating on Dina
2. Really not dignified when Joyce has been clear she’s not interested
I mean, when has dignity been a priority for any of these characters
ok but it would be hilarious if this started a trend and Joe also tried to Dorothy-ify himself
Blond Joe arc
Well I’m glad Becky can still smile and crack jokes.
new hair kinda cute actually. also a delightful moment between two of my fave redheads
+1 to both points.
Ruth doesn’t get enough to do anymore. 🙁
