In addition to the regular books that we get that chronicle different chapters of DoA.
How much would people be willing to pay to get a giant picture book, of roughly the same size, shape, length, and content of a “Where’s Waldo/Wally?” book, only entitled, “Where’s Charlie?”
And how each megascene covers two pages and shows hundreds of different characters, along with pretty much every single one of the cast, all in one frozen moment doing something hilarious? And like all Waldo books, you get a little blurb on the side of the page, as Charlie’s journal or Charlie’s thoughts, as well as a list of specific other things to find in addition to Charlie. Things that are only described in their relationship to her, like “Charlie’s Girlfriend,” “Charlie’s Twin,” “Charlie’s Nintendo,” “Charlie’s Borrowed Head-Clenching Iguana,” etc.
I’d pay good money for one.
Also an adult coloring book. You know. Not a *cough* Adult *cough* coloring book, but something made for adults to enjoy. As long as we’re just throwing ideas out into the ether.
Both Alice and Jennifer seem to be wearing pull-on boots with no shoelaces. Charlie’s going to have to pull some other sweet prank. Maybe she’ll unhook their bras?
Woo implies Charlie is conjuring a plan or putting in directed effort. Charlie is more like a jelly, she drifts beautiful in the current and ends up right were she needs to be. That or eaten by sea turtles. The later seems vanishingly unlikely in Charlie’s case, yet I would not be surprised if it happened.
Charlie and Carla are also good candidates for a DoA group B. Still don’t know a good group name. I wanna call them the Dummies but that would cover the entire cast. Need something more unique.
Actually make it Glasses Wearing Sapphics because it’s more inclusive and can also be shortened to GWS, an acronym that also stands for Girls with Slingshots.
Should I make a modification for that “DON’T CARE REMOVING PANTS NOW” script that adds a panel to the end that instead uses this “You just got pranked” Carla panel? Because it’s iconic and could work without context lol
It is progressing both Billie&Alice’s relationship as well as Charlie&Carla’s relationship in a comic about relationships. That seems narrative to me tbh.
It’s a brick joke. Alice and Jennifer stand there talking to a succession of cast members who keep coming by, and after conversations with the entire named student body finally have a 3 strip discussion of what they are doing next, and then in the last panel, fall on their faces.
Not to take away from the glory that is Chalie, but is no one going to mention the quiet-part-out-loud implications of “in your sleep”? Of Billie being in Alice’s room, or vice versa, overnight?
CURSE YOU, CHARLIE SANCHEZ!I HEREBY VOW, YOU WILLRUE THIS DAY! BEHOLD, A TRUE JOURNALISM-MAJOR STUDENT! AND I, JENNIFER BILLINGSWORTH – YOUR FEARS MADE FLESH! TOP-TIER GIRLFRIEND YOU MIGHT BE, FOUL PRANKSTER, BUT I WILL NAME YOU AS AMAZIGIRL IN MY NEXT ARTICLE! WITH LITTLE TO NO EVIDENCE! WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY JOURNALISTIC CREDIBILITY!
Joyce: Guys, why are there these golden sigils popping up all over the dorm and why do they have notes from Dorothy saying things like “Here I abandon my left arm?”
You fool, Carla! Your girlfriend is a “blink and you’ll miss her” kind of character – as in, if you blink she will go missing oh god I blinked where’s Charlie!?
I don’t know if “hurting” is the active verb here. “Confusing.” “Baffling.” “Bemusing.” “Obstructing.” All perfectly LGBTQ+ friendly in this the month of Pride, which Carla is surely feeling for her girlfriend.
I was a little on concerned about the aftermath a Billie jumping on Alice to get to the phone but it looks like it’s part of a longstanding joke. It didn’t lead to a lesbian pile in a public place or injuries.
I’m just now realizing Jennifer and Alice are the Joyce and Dorothy relationship just about two or three steps further along in their development. They already went through the disaster hookup and romance part of the friendship and are back to being bi besties. Trust me this will be Joyce and Dorothy in like a year or two maybe minus one of them derailing the relationship by drunk driving them into a tree….Maybe. They do both enjoy their alcohol.
I’ll say this, I really hope we get a better idea of Charlie’s personality soon. So far, all we have is “looks confused, does magic.” Now that second part ain’t nothing, but I’m gonna need more to get invested in your mage.
(Side note: Dina is the rogue. Carla is probably the barbarian. Sal is Aragorn. Not a ranger, just Aragorn as played by Viggo Mortensen.)
In the proud tradition of jokingly making a worst faith argument about something that is NOT occurring in the comic, I present today’s worst faith argument;
Oh my god I can’t BELIEVE Charlie is gaslighting Billie and Alice by PRETENDING to forget why she went over there. You can’t lie to me Charlie, I know your tricks!! You didn’t forget, once they turn their heads you’re going to FEAST UPON THEIR BLOOD LIKE A VAMPIRE. A sexy SEXY vampire!
I have the clay to make a pose-able doll. Don’t threaten me to make a fun thing. It’s really a matter of if I wanna buy red doll hair or take a straightener to some red yarn.
Oh wow. Nostalgia. A phone that scans your fingerprints instead of shitty facial recognition software that doesn’t work half the time. God I miss the finger print scans.
rachel from dumbing of age by @damnyouwillis.bsky.social! her intense, judgmental, self-righteous, grudge-holding ass is my favorite lmao. she has a really strong sense of justice but goes overboard with it BUT she means well!!

kids are watching a pokemon episode where they're joining some adventurers who're taking a submarine down to a not-titanic-but-definitely-the-titanic and welp g'bye ash, sorry, you're gonna die now, watch the news
Science fiction is basically about naming things after real astronomy which is basically about naming things after Roman mythology which is basically about pretending that you named things from Greek mythology which is about straightforwardly describing the gods on a real mountain you can hike to
Check out this later Transformers G1 scale chart I recently found in an auction. I always thought they were the same height but Blaster towers over Soundwave.
While stretch and squash has always been harder with CGI animation (especially in the 90's), leading to animation that's very stiff in SOME ways, check out how Quickstrike jerks forward a hair before jerking himself back.
Skilled animators worked on Beast Wars and it shows, despite the limitations.

I really want y'all to take this in if you haven't seen BW. The amount of expression Mainframe could get out of some *incredibly* inhuman faces, mixed with body language, is astounding even today.
Alice may be cool, but Charlie is on another level.
In that she literally wandered off towards the elevator just now and we don’t know what floor she’s on, can any of you help Carla look?
She’s on the third floor, but of a completely different building somehow.
If she’s not with Dina, we’ll find her. If she is with Dina, we might as well go back to our regular activities and just wait.
Funny side question.

She’s already gotten to their shoelaces.
Fuck, that’s a good call. Wouldn’t be surprised if that ends up being the scene ender.
I mean, there’s four spaces between panels. Who knows what she could have accomplished in that amount of space.
Y’all make a convincing argument. I shall continue to believe it regardless of what happens in tommorow’s strip.
Both Alice and Jennifer seem to be wearing pull-on boots with no shoelaces. Charlie’s going to have to pull some other sweet prank. Maybe she’ll unhook their bras?
That’s part of the prank, see? Since they have no shoelaces, the tied-up shoelaces definitely won’t be expected!
quick, borrow Dina’s prank-making hat
At least yesterday Carla fell down.
Mistress? oooh hohohohoho this is rich, Charlie already a perfect dom
she gonna woo her way into Ruttech vaults in no time >:D
Woo implies Charlie is conjuring a plan or putting in directed effort. Charlie is more like a jelly, she drifts beautiful in the current and ends up right were she needs to be. That or eaten by sea turtles. The later seems vanishingly unlikely in Charlie’s case, yet I would not be surprised if it happened.

Glasses Wearing Lesbians.
Actually make it Glasses Wearing Sapphics because it’s more inclusive and can also be shortened to GWS, an acronym that also stands for Girls with Slingshots.
+1 from a Danielle Corsetto fan.
Why the glasses were wearing sapphics we’ll never know.
During the coldest winter times, I like to wear a sapphic to keep warm. (they’re always muttering about being useless, but this takes care of that)
The C-Team, of course.
Charla is RIGHT THERE, come on now
Charlie effortlessly being the best at all times
So is this bright new love or blinding obsession? Which of these couples am I talking about? You choose.
Should I make a modification for that “DON’T CARE REMOVING PANTS NOW” script that adds a panel to the end that instead uses this “You just got pranked” Carla panel? Because it’s iconic and could work without context lol
No, you need to add both. First, the You Got Pranked panel and then the Don’t Care Removing Pants Now panel.
+1 for the best panel order,
Take the 2nd and 7th panel, and fill between with your joke
Charlie is well among the greats.
I like Alice a normal amount.
I don’t believe you. You are making a manifestly false statement for the sake of humor.
I reason thusly. Normal is boring. Taffy is never boring. QED.
The truth is, I’d prefer to see more Alice over more Joyce, at this point.
Now you’ve done it. The basic laws of the universe now require us to switch back to Joyce tommorow.
I think we all do for a given definition of “normal”.
oooookay ?
They are my new favorite couple.
I want Charlie to have a jacket.
Carla would absolutely try to dress her girlfriend in one of those Ruttech Motorcycle Jackets.
The delivery drone will follow her around for three hours before she finally notices it.
Surreal pranks are the best pranks.
Also, I feel like that last panel is one that can be applied to any preexisting comic to add new context.
“Paint the East German machine tools blue.” Yep, that works.
Cinema.
I believe you meant to say, “Sin Emma.” (Or possibly command.)
There is no evidence for this, but both of them are strange things to say out of the blue, so I figure I have a 50% chance of being right.
On the upside, no damage seems to have been done to Alice.
I like Alice’s reaction in frame 6.
Me too! Looked in the comments to see if anyone else mentioned it. It’s such a nice lil gentle smile :3
Pack it up this is the pinnacle of this comic, it’s all downhill from here.
I think this might be my favourite non-narrative strip in a while
Love these two couples and I’m so happy that Jennifer is happy and escaping popularity mindsets
This is absolutely a narrative strip, what on Earth do you mean?
Nothing moving the story forward, nothing revealed. It’s just nice
I’m open to how it is narrative, but for me this is more mood and jokes
I mean it moves the story forward in the sense that the story is about the characters daily lives and this is part of that.
I tend not to think about this comic as having a “The Story,™”, so that’s probably the disconnect.
That’s fair, I could’ve used better language
Same. Carla and Charlie are just Looney Tunes, and I’m okay with that.
The prank is Alice and Billie are going to be so confused.
I like the shading on Carla’s jeans. Two colors of light in the room.
I’m wondering if that was the actual prank or if Charlie genuinely forgot why she went over to Alice and Billifer. Both seem equally likely with her.
Not to take away from the glory that is Chalie, but is no one going to mention the quiet-part-out-loud implications of “in your sleep”? Of Billie being in Alice’s room, or vice versa, overnight?
She knows how to pick lock after all
Curse you, Charlie Sanchez! I hereby vow you will rue this day!!
i’d rather not know how she’ll steal Alice’s fingerprints but I firmly believe she could
CURSE YOU, CHARLIE SANCHEZ!I HEREBY VOW, YOU WILL RUE THIS DAY!
This has intense Sydney Yus vibes and I love it.
Mythbusters did it with an early version of a fingerprint reader back in the aughties, so I think it’s possible for Billifer to do it in 2025.
You fool, Carla! Your girlfriend is a “blink and you’ll miss her” kind of character – as in, if you blink she will go missing oh god I blinked where’s Charlie!?
I’m just happy to see Jennifer and Alice hanging out. Jen really needed a win.
Loving the chemistry between these two. Can’t wait for the biology to happen ^^
Incentive to join the other patreon, lol
Biology is always happening forever and it won’t stop at any point.
Except when the universe succumbs to entropy I guess.
No worries. By then we will have infected other universes.
I’m here for the physics
We are all victims of physics.
But are we informed victims?
I’m here for the drama, and the jiggle physics.
OMG Charlie, that was brutal! How are Jennifer and Alice supposed to recover from this??
Intensive therapy.
Nah, college students are like babies. If you drop them they bounce.
Didn’t work that way for Mike sadly………
I cannot BELIEVE that David Willis posted this content about lesbians hurting other queer women so cruelly on my birthday
I don’t know if “hurting” is the active verb here. “Confusing.” “Baffling.” “Bemusing.” “Obstructing.” All perfectly LGBTQ+ friendly in this the month of Pride, which Carla is surely feeling for her girlfriend.
BELIEVE is the active verb. It was even all caps so you wouldn’t miss it.
You may also have misread the invisible but implied /s, but I’m not sure.
I cannot BELIEVE they missed BELIEVE and the (/)S of which there were like fifteen. Reported.
Reported for reporting. On your birthday.
I always take a script for everything.
I too am a script thief.
This is is a classic Neurodivergent prank
It sure is is
I love how Carla is so proud of Charlie.
I was a little on concerned about the aftermath a Billie jumping on Alice to get to the phone but it looks like it’s part of a longstanding joke. It didn’t lead to a lesbian pile in a public place or injuries.
These are actually the only two possible results of any course of action
Happy pride?
Carla is just so supportive of her girlfriend. Carla may still be Carla’s #1 fan, but she has someone else she’s a bigger fan of now! Adorable!
Its just nice to see her finally caring for someone more than she cares about herself.
This prank went over my head.
Did anyone else read Carla’s last line in the voice of Gina from Brooklyn 99?
I’ll say this, I really hope we get a better idea of Charlie’s personality soon. So far, all we have is “looks confused, does magic.” Now that second part ain’t nothing, but I’m gonna need more to get invested in your mage.
(Side note: Dina is the rogue. Carla is probably the barbarian. Sal is Aragorn. Not a ranger, just Aragorn as played by Viggo Mortensen.)
I think once Charlie gets a snug hat we’ll be able to see more of her in action.
Did you know Sal broke her foot when she kicked that helmet??
No, she kicked her foot when she broke the helmet. I think you might have misheard.
In the proud tradition of jokingly making a worst faith argument about something that is NOT occurring in the comic, I present today’s worst faith argument;
It was a good attempt, but you didn’t need to
– include the vampire bit. Huh.
I’ve jumped the shark…
sadge
Oh my Cheese, Charlie is perfect.
so when are we getting a poseable carla rutten action figure?
I have the clay to make a pose-able doll. Don’t threaten me to make a fun thing. It’s really a matter of if I wanna buy red doll hair or take a straightener to some red yarn.
Oh wow. Nostalgia. A phone that scans your fingerprints instead of shitty facial recognition software that doesn’t work half the time. God I miss the finger print scans.
Glad Jennifer didn’t ruin things this time.
Charlie is the Prankquean? Then who is Jarl van Hoother?
