Knowing how to throw someone in the air to make sure they can be safely caught or land might also mean you know how to do the inverse as well: Throw them into the air in such a way that it’s nearly impossible to land safely.
I’m glad the idea of Billie being a role model is dying, it wasn’t great for them or Billie. On the bright side though, all is as it should be between Ruth and Billie. This is how they express their love, playful bickering and/or sex.
Did they bust out of a room or something? or the rest just walk in?
sidenote: that NSFW comic panel on the side with amber reading dawn of justice spoof.
is that a solo comic i missed the announcemtn of?
Grease is the word (is the word, that you heard)
It’s got groove, it’s got meaning
Grease is the time, is the place, is the motion
Grease is the way we are feeling
Well… i mean… that IS *why* your body forces you to barf. You’ve dangerously poisoned it, and it is fighting to protect you from dying. (even if you know you didn’t drink enough to actually kill yourself)
There’s a big irony in this, although I’m sure that Billie isn’t in a state to appreciate it: The only real friend she’s made in Forrest so far is the one she likes the least: Lucy.
I wouldn’t call them “friends” exactly (even if Lucy obviously disagrees with me).
But they are both sharing the experience of having fallen from grace with the weird pod-people cargo-cult that is Forrest hall. Lucy because she wasn’t as cool as Billie, Billie because she wasn’t as cool as they thought she was.
How and if they build a friendship from that shared experience remains to be seen.
What’s even left to barf out? I thought most of dinner ended up on Ruth’s clothes (which is why she’s wearing loaner clothes), and they haven’t gotten around to breakfast yet.
Also are we sure Billie doesn’t need some medical help with this cold turkey effort here?
At least of Billie ends up in the hospital they might see Mike in traction or something. Or the morgue. Wherever.
Yes, Billie should be getting some medical help here. Considering that she has severe alcoholic tendencies, an unsupervised cold-turkey approach to quitting is extremely dangerous.
They were worshipping an illusion – What they wanted her to be, not who she really is. When they saw the reality and that it wasn’t that illusion they wanted, they just walked away like the disappointed customers they were.
how long has Billy been detoxing now? My mom was on tranks and IV for 5 days while she was in the hospital for her heart attack. Basically never knew that she was going through detox, and subsequently never acknowledged the fact that she had a drinking problem either.
This is Tuesday. It was Sunday night she officially stopped – after Ruth drank again and wound up in hospital. We know Billie drank Saturday night, but not if she drank during the day Sunday. Probably not, since she was sick from it by Monday morning.
a running gag in it'swalky!/shortpacked!/etc are shipping containers drawn with the This Way Up Arrows pointing down
i guess the FedEx delivery person was a fan
I find there's always at least one person following me who doesn't know this: The first kiss between two Transformers in TF fiction was between Arcee, a transgender (yes you read that right) lesbian, and Aileron, another female Autobot.
Also the original voice actor is a gay woman.
Arcee is ours.
there is a very poorly edited commercial on tv that shows A Mom starting her day and she goes in to wake up her kid for school and as the kid begins to wake up it cuts to a closeup of someone spraying Raid at an unseen target. it really looks like some kid getting got with bug spray
Remember when Blockbuster Video gave a dude so many late fees he decided we should all borrow DVDs in the mail and then destroy the entire cable industry and shove a weird hot metal spike up the movie industry's keister for both better and worse?
Anyway, never underestimate the power of spite.
in today's strip, i left joe's eyebrows connected in the middle, like they used to be rendered back in Roomies!, because it tickled me
have little a roomies! expression, as a treat
Earlier this month at TFN I saw the amazing TF None panel by @chrismcfeely.bsky.social & @jimsorenson.bsky.social and I absolutely fell in love with the proposed version of Megatron. So after a little paint and 3d printing, I'm very excited to reveal my custom Negator!
Google Gemini doesn’t appear to be doing too well:
‘"I am a disgrace to this planet. I am a disgrace to this universe. I am a disgrace to all universes . . . I am a disgrace to all possible and impossible universes and all that is not a universe," the bot continued.’
Today in #9ChickweedLane I learned we're rerunning the week of strips where Edda strips a critic on stage during a performance, which definitely should've landed her in prison.
“see? ’cause now we have the COMPLETE picture!”
“and also a big mess to clean up”
1,2,3, not cleaning it up!
Bruh I wasn’t ready, count again.
Billie going the distance
She’s going for speed.
She’s all alone (all alone) All alone in her time of need
But how could we have a complete picture without knowing what happened to Mike?
That’s the current fireworks factory, isn’t it…?
#WhenAreTheyGonnaGetToTheFireworksFactory
What if… everytime someone asks or mentions it, Willis pushes back the reveal comics?
Oh, that’s what was missing. Stomach contents.
Nash looks impressed lol
“The movies were right, college is about learning and projectile vomiting!”
Cheerleeders were trained to be the best at everything, after all.
I thought that was Batman.
…Do you think Batman studied cheerleading?
I understand that there was a complex relationship with Ras.
I think I’ll let Willis answer this one. https://www.shortpacked.com/comic/batman-is-good-at-everything
Knowing how to throw someone in the air to make sure they can be safely caught or land might also mean you know how to do the inverse as well: Throw them into the air in such a way that it’s nearly impossible to land safely.
When Billie said “Wait, hold on, I’m gonna” I REALLY thought that that was going another direction…
Lots of slip, no shine.
Nice Richie Rich-variety liter sound effect.
*literal*
The fight extended into the hall?
DOA Book 10: Impressive Spray Distance Though
Dumbing of Age Book X: Maybe Billie Isn’t a Role Model
DoA Book 10: Suplex!
Once again we see the underlying theme of DoA: Lock the damn door!
I’m confused too.
It’s a good thing that ‘Horf’ is there or that line looks a lot dirtier. XD
But now the hallway is gonna be a lot dirtier
I’m glad the idea of Billie being a role model is dying, it wasn’t great for them or Billie. On the bright side though, all is as it should be between Ruth and Billie. This is how they express their love, playful bickering and/or sex.
fight fight fight fight
That moment when SUPLEX! becomes a sound effect,
Willis’ second-best sound effect, after “DELOREAN!”.
Detox is going to be quite an ordeal, isn’t it? Glad she’s plenty feisty, still.
So who’s going to have the fun job of filling Beatrice in?
I assume Nash. Dunno if Rose or Lucy know sign language.
Did they bust out of a room or something? or the rest just walk in?
sidenote: that NSFW comic panel on the side with amber reading dawn of justice spoof.
is that a solo comic i missed the announcemtn of?
Sideanswer: I think he’s made a series of single panel pinups, and I believe it’s one of those!
The latest Slipshine, though it’s been up for awhile. It’s a link, click on it.
Calculated. Nothing gets a girl off of you than projectile vomiting. S-so I’ve heard.
Grease is the word (is the word, that you heard)
It’s got groove, it’s got meaning
Grease is the time, is the place, is the motion
Grease is the way we are feeling
I’m super confused. Are they doin’ it or wrestling?
The answer, now and always, is “yes”.
I’m pretty sure it’s both.
One leads into the other.
And sometimes back around, in a circle.
Like when you’re in a large brawl, when a hockey game breaks out.
the real question is why did any of you think she was a role model at all in the first place!!
Get a room, you two.
They already have one. Just need to close the door.
Well, the carpet did get stained. . .
Detoxing, huh? Is that what the kids are calling it these days? Where I’m from, we call it barfing.
Well… i mean… that IS *why* your body forces you to barf. You’ve dangerously poisoned it, and it is fighting to protect you from dying. (even if you know you didn’t drink enough to actually kill yourself)
We used to look at it as being “better out than in”. And it’s cheaper than an ambulance ride and a stomach pump.
There’s a big irony in this, although I’m sure that Billie isn’t in a state to appreciate it: The only real friend she’s made in Forrest so far is the one she likes the least: Lucy.
I wouldn’t call them “friends” exactly (even if Lucy obviously disagrees with me).

I really hope today is the start of Billie allowing herself to enjoy stuff again.
Cleanup on aisle five!
You know what, take a quick swab in aisle four and six as well.
Pretty impressive pillow-throwing distance too.
Dumbing of Age Book 10: Maybe Billie Isn’t a Role Model
alternative title, Dumbing of Age Book 10: HORF!
What’s even left to barf out? I thought most of dinner ended up on Ruth’s clothes (which is why she’s wearing loaner clothes), and they haven’t gotten around to breakfast yet.
Also are we sure Billie doesn’t need some medical help with this cold turkey effort here?

Yes, Billie should be getting some medical help here. Considering that she has severe alcoholic tendencies, an unsupervised cold-turkey approach to quitting is extremely dangerous.
Their turn on Billie breaks my heart. Shameful-shameful traitors.
They were worshipping an illusion – What they wanted her to be, not who she really is. When they saw the reality and that it wasn’t that illusion they wanted, they just walked away like the disappointed customers they were.
I’m glad i’m not the one who’ll have to clean THAT
Who wants Billie as role model when you can have Ruth?
This!
The pea-soup shade for Billie’s text bubbles in the last panel is a great touch.
if SUPLEX! were to be made into a song, perhaps its lyrics could be fit to this tune
FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!!!!
For now, at least. I do hope that those two remember to go back inside if things change back!
What? They have an audience now!
Yup, live studio audience, no laugh track for Willis.
oh, right. the withdrawal sickness.
how long has Billy been detoxing now? My mom was on tranks and IV for 5 days while she was in the hospital for her heart attack. Basically never knew that she was going through detox, and subsequently never acknowledged the fact that she had a drinking problem either.
I can tell you she started Sunday night. I unfortunately have no clue what day it is.
This is Tuesday. It was Sunday night she officially stopped – after Ruth drank again and wound up in hospital. We know Billie drank Saturday night, but not if she drank during the day Sunday. Probably not, since she was sick from it by Monday morning.
I thought they were still in their room and was wondering why everybody else was in there too.
Almost like idealizing someone you barely know isn’t a great thing to do.
“Maybe Billy Isn’t a Role Model” makes a good book title.
Ironically, this is the best she’s been, role-model-wise.
I’m inspired now. I want to go out and show everyone that I’m not a good role model, just like Billie.
“What do you want?”
“I want the RUTH!”
“YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE RUTH!!!”
