Is a place like Indiana University appropriate for someone who wants to become a chef? Do they have relevant courses? Or will Joe have to drop out?
(I live in a city with both colleges and universities. The college has a culinary arts program but I don’t think the universities do. I know some places have a ‘hotel and food management’ program, but I think that’s more the business side of running a restaurant.
In Texas, the University of Houston has a fully operational Hilton hotel on-campus, as the foundation of its Global Hospitality Leadership program. It covers the hospitality basics of cooking and chefing and cleaning and such, plus business operations of hotels and other entertainment venues.
