Like a bastard file. Like sandpaper made out of sharp, pointy rocks. Like Mick Jagger on crystal meth. Like a tiger’s gaping maw. Like broken glass glued onto a morningstar flail. Like the three little piggies after being put through a woodchip-
Oh, wait. Damn, that one is actually smooth.
It’s an entirely standard type of file. Files come in bastard cut (coarsest, for filing away stuff quickly), second cut (medium) and smooth (for fine work and finishing).
I’d expect, if it’s a machine for making chips out of wood, that there’ll still be quite a few jagged chunks of bone and the like inamongst all the gooey entrails…
As if the ramifications of an RA and her not-boss hitting on her weren’t bad enough. I don’t think a teacher would be a good thing to add to this mix, no matter how much the fanbase clamors for it.
Or because she’s worried about being perceived as going over the line.
No argument that Ruth committed assault – she slammed Billie against a wall and forced a kiss. Daisy, on the other hand, got slammed (at her own request), and made a kissy-face. I’m not sure an actual kiss even happened. Personally I don’t consider the two serieses of events all that comparable.
@Josh – your avatar mixed with your comment…………….
just PERFECT! Just imagine if Penny was the next
person Bille ran into……………….and this “trend”
continued? Remember last we saw Ms. Penny, she
was pretty “frustrated” herself, as I recall lol
Actually, I think that would be a good idea. Leslie would be compassionate, understanding, non-judgmental… she wouldn’t dismiss things as ‘not counting’ because Ruth is a girl, plus, she’d be an ideal person to talk to if Billie is, as seems to be the case, having mixed feelings about what happened.
But no way would she hit on a student.
Actually please ignore what he said. It’s NOT okay for either to do it; please note that in the comic Billie is angry and upset that these women have assaulted her and bothered by the event.
However, women have been hurt by men for a very long time and it was considered okay, even natural, for a man to whack around a woman if she stepped out of line and to exercise sexual control of her as he wished. I’m not making this up; it’s entrenched in law in several cultures including westernized civilizations until fairly recently.
What this means is that reversing this trend has been very difficult and has changing laws, moral notions and huge cultural shifts in the sexist (to both genders) notion of manhood as being dominant.
On the other hand, there is no historical precedent for women mistreating men in this way and no evidence that this behavior is as deeply rubbed into our culture as that male-on-female violence or sexual assault. As such, a woman assaulting a man or even another woman doesn’t carry as much WEIGHT, historically and culturally, as if a man were to do it.
Essentially, if a man assaults a woman, not only are there often the attendant physical dis/advantages at play (often but not always!) but also the huge recall of centuries – millennia even – of systematized, lawful oppression in which this was allowed and encouraged to happen. The other way around suggests just “regular” violence or assault.
Just to repeat; assault is never okay whoever is involved. Fiction assault can be a part of a satisfying narrative but shouldn’t be excused in real life.
And no, women are NOT more likely to be domestic abusers (what????) or rapists (whaaat??????????). I have literally no idea where that’s coming from other than simple conspiracy theorizing and misogyny.
Man, I really can’t have a story about two ladies mackin’ it in the bad way without the manfolks makin’ sure everyone else knows they’ve got it bad too, can I?
Part of it is the average age of your audience. You need to have acquired a certain amount of life experience to be able to chill out, take a step back, and consider that mitigating factors and context just might trump what seems to be clear and inviolable boundaries.
Yeah no. The theory behind sexual harassment laws is that they apply equally well to any other sort of workplace harassment, and workplace harassment creates a “hostile work environment” iirc and people have some sort of a right to be socially comfortable at work. Discriminatory has not that much to do with it.
It clearly is sexual harassment, and I don’t think anywhere Willis has indicated that its not. It’s not assault, the way it happened to Joyce, but it is understood as wrong for all involved.
In this case, didn’t billie push daisy up against the wall? I’m not sure making kissie lips is in-and-of-itself harassment when it’s the other person who’s instigating facial closeness.
Daisy still at fault though. She want to know what happened between Billie and Ruth and asked her to demonstrate it so she did. Facial closeness happened because she reconstruct what happened last night and not asking for a kiss from Daisy.
Daisy didn’t ask her to demonstrate. She said “tell me.” I think Daisy was wrong to think it was a good time for kissy face, but I’d like to clarify that she did not ask Billie for physical contact.
You mean the kid show where, in the first episode, the main character ressorts to alcohol in order to escape from her problems ?
I like this kind of kid show !
ee-Yup, that’s after all what kid’s do now-a-days to escape from their problems! I know from personal experience. stopped drinking when I was 16, I mean I still might have an occasional beer or two, but that doesn’t even register as drinking… so… uhh… yeah.
Joe is at least the gender she’s shooting for. Remember, she was willing to jump Danny’s bones just because she was a little stressed. At this point, she might crush Joe’s pelvis.
I just get the feeling this is gonna lead up to ruth trying to apologize and Billie immediatly letting out a torrent of rage as a result of all this piling up and then ruth will feel like crap and billie will feel guilty
God, her face! It’s not even a real expression just pure unmasked contempt and fustration fused into some sort of multi-face that only those who have been through hell can possibly understand!!! I miss my ex :'(
Billie I know this is going to be hard journey ahead but ‘it gets better’, just some helpful suggestions in this difficult time:
Step 1: Attach pom-poms to revolvers.
Step 2: Put ball bag over head and make gashes for mouth and eyes, perhaps adding makeup touches such as lipstick to the mouth area for emphasis.
Step 3: Put a blood red cross over team symbol.
Step 4: Gain cash through theft.
Step 5: Get back at the b$&@€%¼ that snubbed you!
Oh my god I just want to wrap Billie up in a (nonsexual) hug and get her to student health services because she’s having a breakdown and no one around her seems to give a shit.
Ruth is abusive, but would kissing someone count as assault?
Women can be incredibly abusive, but usually it’s more emotional and verbal abuse than physical abuse. Just my luck to fall for the girl who sent me to the ER to get my jaw x-rayed.
How is that the same situation? He was hitting on her, she shot him down, he was apologizing for putting the moves on her. She was flattered and grabbed him for a kiss. He clearly stated his interest. She responded. In the situation with Ruth, Billie was pushed against a wall by her adversary and kissed. With Daisy, it was not assault as she did notforce herself on Billie, so much as she importuned.
Sooo… I’m having trouble seeing why people (including, apparently, Billie) think Daisy is guilty of anything worse than very understandably misinterpreting Billie’s actions here. Daisy asked Billie to tell her how the kiss had happened – probably at least partially for her own titillation, but I think also out of actual concern. She did not ask Billie to re-enact the event with her in the starring role, and seemed surprised and flustered by Billie choosing to do so. She did not push Billie up against a wall and kiss her, but rather just the opposite… Billie pushed her up against a wall, moved in well past the boundaries of personal space, and then leaned in even closer, apparently moving in to kiss her, all the while describing these events which had previously ended in a kiss. And, again, all this by Billie’s unprompted choice.
It doesn’t seem to me at all surprising, unreasonable, or blameworthy for Daisy to conclude, at that point, that Billie was using this scenario to put the moves on her (and, Daisy being Daisy, it’s even less surprising that she’s totally okay with that), and to prepare to accept the kiss that seemed to be coming.
And now Billie has stormed off in a huff, causing Daisy to realize that she was somehow mistaken when she interpreted a hot girl pushing her against a wall and getting intimately close to her as being a hot girl pushing her against a wall in order to get intimately close to her, and to try to cover her mistake, and her ass. And get the phone number of someone who might actually follow through while she’s at it.
I think the problem, for Billie, is that she just had to deal with Ruth coming at her out of nowhere and then Daisy asks her about it and Billie’s thinking she’s got a sounding board in Daisy and then there’s Daisy looking like she wants to get at her too. She was pretty much at her limit when the run in with Ruth happened and this is just more of things not being what she expects them to be. In Billie’s mind, what Daisy is guilty of, is being just as “unstable” as everything else in her life.
I think you both missed the fact that Daisy kissed Billie. Granted, Willis’s art style — leaving the actual lips out of the drawing — sometimes makes it a little difficult to see what’s going on.
Ruth might be closeted – it seemed earlier that she was just not forthcoming with her sexual preferences, rather than being openly deceptive – but this girl’s closet was made of ice and glass.
Smooth
Like a bastard file. Like sandpaper made out of sharp, pointy rocks. Like Mick Jagger on crystal meth. Like a tiger’s gaping maw. Like broken glass glued onto a morningstar flail. Like the three little piggies after being put through a woodchip-
Oh, wait. Damn, that one is actually smooth.
So are a tiger’s fangs, ideally.
A bastard file. This intrigues me.
Like scotch straight from the distillery.
Like undistilled scotch.
Now we just need to introduce Billie to Leslie
As if the ramifications of an RA and her not-boss hitting on her weren’t bad enough. I don’t think a teacher would be a good thing to add to this mix, no matter how much the fanbase clamors for it.
No, don’t you see?! That just makes it even better!
I’m with ASO. That idea just has disaster written all over it for all concerned.
If by “disaster” you mean “pending nuclear apocalypse”.
and by “pending nuclear apocalypse” you mean “absolutely amazing”!
and by “absolutely amazing” you mean “Willis does it cause screw morals”
I can see arguing about the fans reaction to Billie being harassed, but blaming Willis seems a bit odd.
Does everyone not see Daisy desperately trying to excuse her actions because she knows she went over the line?
Or because she’s worried about being perceived as going over the line.
No argument that Ruth committed assault – she slammed Billie against a wall and forced a kiss. Daisy, on the other hand, got slammed (at her own request), and made a kissy-face. I’m not sure an actual kiss even happened. Personally I don’t consider the two serieses of events all that comparable.
Yeah, I’m with Begbert. Ruth’s action creeped me the hell out, especially given her history of bullying, Daisy’s wasn’t nearly as obviously terrible.
@Josh – your avatar mixed with your comment…………….
just PERFECT! Just imagine if Penny was the next

continued? Remember last we saw Ms. Penny, she

Daisy’s kind of an idiot, and Ruth’s out of her mind. Leslie’s got her head screwed on too well to pull a stunt like this.
…although given this arc’s title, I’m wondering whether this is leading Billie into the arms of Conquest…
I concur, on the Leslie front.
Apparently Billie is particularly harassable.
IT’S NOT SEXIST BECAUSE LESBIANS.
Yeah, how does that work again? I don’t get the sexist claims thing.
It’s not sexual harrassment because the readership finds it hot!
Not that, the “If a guy do it, it’s wrong but if a gal does it, it’s A-OK” thing. For the life of me, I never understand that.
You said it. I was just asking for clarification.
It’s a touchy subject for a lot of people.
@Coobee
The comment was removed. I think that’s a good move by Willis. It’s gender racism and can cause flame war.
*looks over everything*
Man, I really can’t have a story about two ladies mackin’ it in the bad way without the manfolks makin’ sure everyone else knows they’ve got it bad too, can I?
Y’know, fellas, sometimes things ain’t about us.
*wipity wipe wipe*
Part of it is the average age of your audience. You need to have acquired a certain amount of life experience to be able to chill out, take a step back, and consider that mitigating factors and context just might trump what seems to be clear and inviolable boundaries.
Sounds good to me.
Sexist isn’t the same as sexual harassment; that’s not what is being discussed.
And even then…Only Ruth really harassed her.
It sort of is – the theory behind sexual harassment laws is that they create a discriminatory workplace, not just an uncomfortable one.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard that theory.
Yeah no. The theory behind sexual harassment laws is that they apply equally well to any other sort of workplace harassment, and workplace harassment creates a “hostile work environment” iirc and people have some sort of a right to be socially comfortable at work. At least Billie didn’t choke her like it looks like she wants to.
Man, Billie is killing it with the ladies! Wish I was that smooth.
From the looks of it, the ladies are just lucky Billie isn’t killing them.
KILLER BILLIE!
Kill Billie
no, no, it’s killie billie, I’m most adamant about it!
I bet Billie will run into Mike next… after all, he’s not a man. He’s a force of nature.
After all, he’s whatever you don’t want him to be.
so Mike will become a lesbian?
Mike is a lesbian? Be right back while I draw this.
MikeMichelle is whatever you don’t want her to be.Michelle is surprisingly cute.
Nice style you have there Yoto.
It’s a
Yotomoe style.+1
I’m just wondering where she got that blouse on such short notice.
Magnificent.
I love it. The facial expressions…
You do not run into Mike. Mike runs into you.
For a good time call Ruth. If you’re in the mood for a fight, or lady love.
There’s a difference?
Sex is a lot like a fight. You just punch with your crotch, more.
She fails to bed a man, and is hounded after by women.
Bad Luck Billie.
Billy needs a keg.
A really big keg.
The biggest keg. The King Keg, if you will.
No, the Mega Keg.
A keg of woop-ass!
Kegas XLR
Kegger Emperor.
Kegocalypse!
Kegeverse!
She has great kegs anyways.
Actually scratch that, better make it two kegs, a crate of Irish whiskey, and Jack Sparrows last bottle of rum.
Scary Billie is scary
I’ve seen scarier. Ever seen Twilight Sparkle’s face from Lesson Zero?
eeyup, I am sad to say it gave me nightmares that night.
Twilight Sparkle, having total mental breakdown in MLP.
You know, that show, for kids!
You mean the Cider episode? when everyone was pissed off when the
beerapple cider run dry and it teach that monopoly is a good thing?eeyup!
BILLIE THE BEAVER! I CAN’T (okay, that’s a bit of a lie) UNSEE IT (but it’s still somewhat, sort of there, kind of)!
Billie’s face…OMG… I’m dyin’ here… XD
Agreed! So perfect!
Billie looks like she’s about to have an actual cardiac arrest.
It’s actually Love Lockdown.
Oh, Billie is about to go batshit crazy.
ABOUT TO?!
Make sure she stays away from any blunt objects.
And sharp ones. SHE WILL STAB EVERYTHING.
She’s physically fit enough to hurt someone with her body.
Especially with her huge….personality.
And her tracts of land!
Well at least she can’t out Ruth, unless she wants people to find out she tried to kiss a student
Oh jeez, that’s the best Billie face I’ve ever seen.
FFFFAAAAAAAAACCCCCEEEE!
I dare say we will be seeing a few people using that as a gravatar soon enough.
Billie’s problem is she desperately wants to get laid (by a man) and feels the universe is taunting her with these girls throwing themselves at her.
Billie done broked.
for the second time my random avatar is Mike.
I can’t wait for Joe to drop into this storyline.
Joe is at least the gender she’s shooting for. Remember, she was willing to jump Danny’s bones just because she was a little stressed. At this point, she might crush Joe’s pelvis.
With HER pelvis!
Eh, Joe ignored her which kind of upset her. Doubt she’d want him now.
Quick everybody! Protect your Femurs!
I just get the feeling this is gonna lead up to ruth trying to apologize and Billie immediatly letting out a torrent of rage as a result of all this piling up and then ruth will feel like crap and billie will feel guilty
I feel sorry for whoever billy runs into next…
and billy herself, but right now the rage is making me worried
Poor Daisy. What’s it gonna take to get her some lovin’?
I wanted to say pancakes and a very skimpy outfit but somehow that seemed inappropriate.
Bake herself into a snickers bar next time a certain congresswoman comes around.
Why wait for the congresswoman? there’s a teacher available nearby!
Billie is definately bad new right now. Kinda hope next one she runs into is Mike, he could defuse her without getting self killed.
I think that’s a good idea Billie. Give Daisy Ruth’s phone number and let her know first hand about Ruth’s cruelty.
Or maybe they’ll make out and both leave you alone! It’s a win-win!
Blameless? I think we can pretty much blame Daisy for her stupidity.
jee, How rude. You, young man, need to learn some manners.
God, her face! It’s not even a real expression just pure unmasked contempt and fustration fused into some sort of multi-face that only those who have been through hell can possibly understand!!! I miss my ex :'(
And here we see the long-awaited return of the “Shut your FAAAAACE”-face.
Smooth… WAAAAY smooth.
OY! =_= … Daisy needs to come out of the closet, join the LGBT club (my spelling may be off; apologies!) if she hasn’t already, and find a girlfriend.
Well, there’s this college RA who desperately looking for a girlfriend.
Requirement: Saint like patience and high pain resistance.
Okay, I’m not sure if Billie is closeted or not, but I’m pretty damn sure Daisy isn’t. Could probably use a girlfriend, though.
“Am I like—catnip or lesbians?! Lesbianip?! IS THAT WHAT YOU’D CALL THAT?!”
“Maybe I should talk to my sexuality teacher about this, see if she can figure this out…”
Billie I know this is going to be hard journey ahead but ‘it gets better’, just some helpful suggestions in this difficult time:
Step 1: Attach pom-poms to revolvers.
Step 2: Put ball bag over head and make gashes for mouth and eyes, perhaps adding makeup touches such as lipstick to the mouth area for emphasis.
Step 3: Put a blood red cross over team symbol.
Step 4: Gain cash through theft.
Step 5: Get back at the b$&@€%¼ that snubbed you!
step 6: ?????
step 7: profit
Billie is like a newbie to webcomics: LESBIANS, LESBIANS EVERYWHERE!
This comic has thought me that all Lesbians are perverts & evil.
Oh my god I just want to wrap Billie up in a (nonsexual) hug and get her to student health services because she’s having a breakdown and no one around her seems to give a shit.
:’)
She could actually try talking to her friends instead of her frienemy or the perverted head of the newspaper.
I hope the campus dosen’t have a bell tower…
‘Cause that’s a “Kill them all!” look if I ever saw one.
Somebody needs to give Daisy a glass of water
Today is not a good day to cross Billie’s path.
Ruth is abusive, but would kissing someone count as assault?
Women can be incredibly abusive, but usually it’s more emotional and verbal abuse than physical abuse. Just my luck to fall for the girl who sent me to the ER to get my jaw x-rayed.
Kissing her without her consent? Yes.
Slamming her up against the wall and kissing her? Hell yes.
For that matter, slamming her up against the wall and not kissing her? Last I checked, still yes.
The word “assault” has taken on connotations stronger than its actual definition.
Her face went RAGE
Love it
You know what I find hilarious?

…no one used the word “assault” at all, even though the kissee was grabbed and forced into a kiss by the kisser. It’s a funny ol’ world, eh?
Wow.
I don’t know if that’s exactly “hilarious”, but it is completely an interesting observation. I think I need to sit back and think for a while…
How is that the same situation? He was hitting on her, she shot him down, he was apologizing for putting the moves on her. She was flattered and grabbed him for a kiss. He clearly stated his interest. She responded. In the situation with Ruth, Billie was pushed against a wall by her adversary and kissed. With Daisy, it was not assault as she did notforce herself on Billie, so much as she importuned.
People did, however, call this one “assault”.
But maybe that’s ’cause Dotty’s goin’ for the grope.
Maybe I’m just missing the point (or dead tired from work) but I’m not sure why Billie’s face is like that.
Is she mad she told someone, or is there something else I’m missing?
In the previous comic when Billie was reenacting the scene, Daisy made a face like she was trying to accept the kiss.
In other words, Daisy wanted (wants) to get a ‘lil lesbian something.
I think you both missed the fact that Daisy kissed Billie. Granted, Willis’s art style — leaving the actual lips out of the drawing — sometimes makes it a little difficult to see what’s going on.

its college, you need to let it flow a little.
You can’t beat em’ Billie, you have to join them.
Geez, Billie! You are just CANDY to closet lesbians, aren’t you?
Ruth might be closeted – it seemed earlier that she was just not forthcoming with her sexual preferences, rather than being openly deceptive – but this girl’s closet was made of ice and glass.
Wow she is dessprerate

If Billie isn’t interested, she really should hook up Daisy with Ruth.
