So, long time reader. Not the most frequent poster, but I am not shy about doing so if I genuinely feel I have something to contribute to the conversation.
Anyway, my randomly assigned Gravatar back in the day was the Ruth one. Not a bad choice. I like Ruth! But, it was hardly a unique one. Multiple people had the same Ruth. I want something unique, darn it!
So I finally went through the process necessary to be able to have a custom Gravatar. Trouble is, I had a few possible options to choose from! So I thought I would seek input, and see what everyone else thought of my choices!
I actually switched to my first option mid afternoon yesterday, but thought I would wait until the new comic was posted at midnight before making a big deal of it for maximum effect. This option is a more unique Ruth, made by taking two images of her that are from the same “camera angle” but which have very different facial expressions, and then making a hybrid of the two images. I quite like this one, to be honest. It may be nice to stay with Ruth as I have grown quite attached! And this will give me a slightly more unique look as I do so. But it it unique enough?
The second and third options, I will reveal tomorrow and the following day at midnight. Then, the day after that, once I have absorbed any opinions you all care to share, I shall switch over to my final selection.

As far as the upcoming choices, well, the other two I have aren’t Ruth. I wanted to have a Ruth amongst my options, and chose to share that one first, but the other two I am going to be choosing from shall take things in a different direction. Man, considering how depressingly it started, I was NOT expecting this relationship to be this smile-inducing.
Of course, this is the “honeymoon phase,” when that rush of hormones is running especially hot, and I’m not sure it’s not a sign of doom that even now, Ruth can’t really go more than a couple of strips without letting out some degree of verbal abuse. But I’m starting to actually root for this relationship instead of just viewing it like a slow-motion version of that disaster scene at the start of GRAVITY.

I guess it sort of depends on when you consider the relationship to have started! Well, wherever you count it from, I will agree it had a depressing start. But for some reason, I always felt it had promise. And even when I was pissed at Billie for still drinking, or scared with Billie that Ruth might do something drastic, I still feel in the long term that this will be a good thing for both of them, and I love sharing in whatever bits of happiness they can find together along the way.
