Has anyone recreated the New 52 Catwoman #1 cover where she’s pouring diamonds on her chest for some reason? Or the #0 cover where she has scoliosis? I’m asking for a friend.
Hmmmmm astronomy and astrobiology and diseases and the like for me. Right now I wake and think…. pluto, pluto, dwarf planets ,megaearths, Europa, pluto, 5 moons, pluto, terrafoming, mars, pandemics, why do they never raid churches in zombie movies or drs offices, just once I want someone to break into a Mormon church and it’s bishops office find the ward list and the location of the bishops store house and get more food and supplies than they know what to do with, bird flu and then pluto
Last guy who thought that got eaten by a Raptor because he thought he could use them for military purposes….honestly he wasn’t the smartest guy I knew.
Because they run the slowest, and therefore know that when the feces hits the rotating oscillator, they are doomed. Might as well be evil then, and try to get the others eaten first!
For what it’s worth, Nedry wasn’t evil in the original book. He was in the right. There’s the one line in the movie where he alludes to being overworked and underpaid, but it’s fully laid out in the book that he was hired on to build a nonspecific “database” and kept in the dark about what was fully needed until the end of the project and constantly yelled at for failing to meet requirements he wasn’t told existed. Then blackmailed into working way overtime for no extra money to deliver the full, now-revealed requirements, with threats that otherwise they would see to it that he never worked again by using their clout to tell all his other potential customers and employers that he was unreliable.
Nedry in the book owed no one shit, and was sympathetic IMHO in his desire to stick it to his boss.
Who was the book’s least sympathetic character — Hammond was arrogant and manipulative and childish. He brought his grandkids in just to guilt Grant and the others into keeping the park open “for the kids!!”, and never gave a shit about the danger they were in after that.
(Another sympathetic character turned unsympathetic: the lawyer who in the movie dies cowering on a toilet. Like, the book was more of a tragedy, where the movie kind of made sure that way more of the people who died “deserved” it.)
Don’t forget that Hammond dies in the book as well. Long after the climax, when everyone thinks it’s all over. Alone, with no one aware that he’s even in danger.
I’ve said before that I figure Dina knew all along, probably didn’t even realize that it was supposed to be a secret, and only didn’t mention it earlier because she didn’t figure her roommate being a costumed vigilante was unusual or worthy of comment. All the body language cues and mannerisms that change when Amber puts the mask on, the things that tell other people that the badass crime-fighting building-leaping truck-surfing superhero is not that nerdy girl who hides in her room playing WoW all the time… Dina can’t see. So for her, Amazi-Girl is just Amber with a piece of cloth tied around her head.
I can’t figure out who that character in the top bunk is. She’s wearing Amber’s clothes but Amazi-Girl’s mask. It’s like Willis trotted out yet another new character, some weird amalgam of two existing ones. And whose messages is she reading, A’s or A-G’s?
In short, have we seen Amber just hanging out partially dressed as Amazi-Girl before?
About how he ran into Ethan after he and Amazi-Girl went their separate ways, and still being slightly inebriated he confessed his feelings. He is recounting their night of passion together in every torrid detail.
Amber doesn’t notice because she just found a shiny pokemon.
I’m guessing in the second, probably “thanks for letting me stay the night” and in the third, probably a series of fart noises or something of equivalent interest.
Nope. Actually scientists. They thought that the greenhouse gasses in dino farts accumulated enough to either alter the weather or just asphyxiate them to death. It was a rather old theory iirc.
More than one instance is “hanky-pankies”. More than one partner is “hankies-panky”. Presumably more than one instance of multiple-partner is “hankies-pankies”.
Actually iirc this comic runs in comic book time, so new stuff in real life can totally happen at an absurdly fast pace in the strip. Also Ninja Rick’s experiences in a WWII concentration camp are going to get progressively more problematic to work into the story as the years go by.
Actually, it does. Elsewise, how do you explain them watching Frozen? :3
However it is true the characters cannot immediately react to real world news, since Willis has a big buffer.
that first panel: there is so much mixed up in that!
amazi-girl’s head is on amber’s body!
danny is casually chatting with dina in his boxers!
amber is not particularly compartmentalizing here!
after shying away from discussing ‘weird, personal’ stuff w/dina before, amber has her bf there in the morning for the never-awkward ‘morning chat!
and finally, dina has a feathered dino toy! where are they on sale? i demand specifics! next kickstarter, please!!!
hey, if they have spambots that can actually respond to posts with proper conversational structure, then i’d be tempted to get it just to support them!
also, can anyone tell me how to bold/italicize in these posts? i imagine that it’s the kind of thing i’d know naturally if i studied more coding languages.
I am so happy to see the Palaeoplushies Velociraptor in Dina’s possession! I have it as well, and it is simply fantastic. She has good taste in dino toys.
(also I can relate to so much of this — both the dino things and the “oh shit this person has been talking this whole time” things)
I’d guess what she just said means ‘Go away or I eat you’ as it is to hide social blunders and it turns all her teeth razor sharp for tearing you to shreds if you do not listen.
Yeah, but we can only ever move forward to a single truth. Our understanding changes, but the dinosaurs themselves do not. People, however, can fundamentally change. Not our understanding of them. The people themselves.
On Amber’s side, the ladder is on the half of the bed that doesn’t that the additional “protection” piece of wood.
But on Dina’s side, it’s on the side with it, and Dina carefully hold onto it as she does down the bed.
I think Dina may be scared of height, or at least doesn’t have a particularly stable footing when climbing down.
I don’t know if the other characters would be nearly as interesting as Dina. I mean, for the most part, we can pretty much tell what they’re thinking. With Dina, not so much.
I would be interested to see what Mike’s thinking, but I very highly doubt Willis would ever let us know, haha.
Well, we THINK we know what they’re thinking. Remember when we got a glimps into Joyce’s mind and saw sthat she saw all strangers as Ryan? Makes you wonder what everyone else is thinking.
Nothing here is really a revelation so far. Dina thinks about dinosaurs and doesn’t pay attention while doing so!
That response would be rude under any other circumstances, but we are talking about Danny in his boxers talking to a not at all awake roomie of his gf after spending the night in their room. That’s gotta be ruder.
When I zone out in a conversation and then snap out of it I always nod, smile and mumble, “Yes, yes, true, true.” You can’t beat a good non sequitur when you haven’t been paying attention.
When I zone out I automatically keep agreeing with whatever the person’s saying, but when I realise I zoned out I have to say I didn’t listen because I hate feeling like I missed out on something.
I like how DMW referenced Deadpool by giving the balloon background of Dina’s inner monologue a different background colour. It’s a neat reminder that this is a woman whose mind and perception set are not of the average.
Meanwhile, I will spend all day wondering what Danny was saying.
I love how Danny takes being snarled at by an angry raptor as an appropriate response to some idle morning conversation. It’s not the weirdest thing that has happened to him today.
Girl: “This paleo blog I’m following is amazing, it already helped me lose six pounds!”
Dina: (What can she mean? Six pounds of dinosaur bone? Anyway, I better follow this conversation.)
And that is how Dina accidentally joined the health club.
It really bothers me that I don’t know what Danny was saying, because the “sore subject” thing suggests it’s not idle morning chat but rather something that might be important to Dina, like maybe the thing with Becky, or maybe he was apologizing about everyone infantilizing her, or he was asking something about her anxiety attack, fangirling about how awesome Ethan is, the way he handled her anxiety, or, or, or… Well as you can tell it really bothers me when I don’t know something.
On a different note, if Danny wants to keep dating Amb- Amazig-girl, he should probably try to learn how to interact with Dina. First lesson: Engaging conversation before she has had her first dose of cereal is utterly pointless – unless of course it is to report breaking paleontological news.
In the second panel, all we can see is the words “the night”, which i ASSUME is part of the phrase “spend the night”. Idk, though, he could just be saying something like “thanks for letting me spend the night” and it has nothing to do with whatever else he said afterwards.
Yes, I think it’s pretty safe to assume that first thing is something along those lines.
I’ve been staring at his facial expression in panel 3 for like 5 straight minutes trying to deduce what he might be saying from it and have come to the conclusion that it must be some joke about the thing with Becky. It kills me to think that I might never know if I’m correct.
If it makes you feel better he’s probably not saying anything.
There’s a pretty good chance Willis didn’t actually have anything in mind for him to say and just put in a few random words to make it look like he was actually talking.
Chances are he’s not saying anything of importance in panel 3, because then the punchline would miss its point if Dina actually knew what Danny was talking about.
Panel 2 is definitely about him staying the night, though.
Wait, no, I’m wrong. He might be talking about Becky (and the bits of his speech bubble do make me think the last word is “Becky”), which is why when Dina snarls at him he thinks it’s a sore subject.
Love that Amazi-Girl stays on the scene, since Amber would not have Danny overnight. Yes, she’s in her Amazi-jammies, but masked and still clearly AG. They’ll have to start to leave for Amber to reappear.
As it turns out, Dina is the perfect roommate for Amber. She supports her and keeps her secrets without becoming jimmy Olson. Or demanding she get help.
This is how this story line starts? I think I’m going to like this, its a really neat look inside the head of one oft he more quiet characters while still having excellent humor! I’ll take 10!
Getting lost in one’s thoughts to the point where the outside world fades away into the background. Now *this* is the world as I know it.
I often feel that inward mode is my default setting, and it takes real effort to switch gears to focus outward and engage meaningfully with my surroundings and the people who are part of those surroundings. Then sustaining that outward mode over a period of time can be quite draining.
Dina, never mind the age difference. We should hang out. We’d sit together, eating cereal and staring into space, each of us lost in our own thoughts. For extra fun, each of us could occasionally blurt out a random non-sequitur reminiscent of Dr. John Dorian.
If only you weren’t fictional, or I had the power to visit and participate in fictional dimensions, you and I could have such a beautiful friendship.
Eh, maybe I’m just projecting. Today’s alt text, other comments about how Danny is worthless and his only good quality was dating Dorothy, basically all of his conversations with Joe. Reminds me a lot of how I felt… silenced? I don’t really know how to sum it up but it’s like I’m reminded of how ignored I felt when I was younger, and when I read strips where the joke is that Danny sucks and he needs to shut up and also everybody should treat him that way, it kind of hits close to home, I guess.
It’s like Danny’s some kind of a bad decision homing bomb, between his part in botching things up with Dorothy, how he’s unknowingly encouraging Amber’s destructive tendencies, even how he’s befriended Sal. Everything about him feels so negative, maybe? Like his whole character arc is just him wandering from bad scenario to the next without even realizing it while everyone else gets to actively grow into better people.
For what it’s worth: even though Danny does mess up a lot, I find him sympathetic and I do think a lot of the treatment he gets both in-world and out here in the real one often feels sort of unfair. Maybe I’m just projecting – I’m looking at Danny from the point of view of being an Old who has been self-aware and self-confident so long that any recollection of being young, inexperienced, and immature has turned into a vague haze for me now. I know that a lot my Danny-related frustration is a sort of second-hand embarrassment feeling: “Oh my god, Danny, just stand up for yourself already!” (If only it were that easy, eh?)
Only Willis knows for sure, but I wonder how much of Danny’s attraction to dominant personality types (Joe, Dorothy, Amber/Amazi-girl, Sal) is “this is what I like” and how much is “this is all that I deserve”. I feel like he’s maybe never had anyone in his life who unreservedly liked him and thought of him as a fully actualized individual in his own right. It makes sense to me that the (presumably) first guy he’s attracted to is Ethan – Ethan’s also someone struggling to find himself and he’s someone with a history of being interested in others and taking care of them as well, and I think that nurturing personality type is even more appealing to Danny than Ethan’s good looks.
I really hope that Danny does get at least a storyline where he gets stronger and more secure.
if amber wasnt right there next to them id guess he was asking about becky.
amber being a stopper of course because dannys currently looking for someone non-straight to talk to about ethan
though he could still have been asking about becky but in a sort of feeler tendrils way
though now that i think about it he could have been asking about her behavior at the party before then. she told him to turn off his face or something, right
Well, Danny and Amazi-girl have had sex.
And she admitted at the end that “some of her secrets were unlocked through orgasm” …. and at that point she was not talking in the blue-tinted Amazi-Girl voice balloons.
Draw your own conclusions.
Cops are overgrown children cosplaying War, with all the rest of us forced into their stupid, childish game without our consent, consuming vast funds from the public treasury and ruining lives by the hundreds of thousands.

I cannot get over these cops wearing night vision to arrest a dude on a Southwest Airlines flight in broad daylight.
a woman posted a pic in a group chat of a baby turkey she bought thinking it was a chicken. She captioned the pic "IS THIS A TURKEY?!?"
Anyway, I haven't been here because I've been yelling IS THIS A TURKEY at everything. You should try it
y'ever figure, hey, i should put joyce in bisexual flag colors for this storyline, but you also figure, hrm, that might telegraph things 8 months in advance, so you... add orange stripes and... it works, somehow it works, nobody points out the pink/purple/blue
Jonathan Joss being shot outside his home while protecting his husband after being sent a threatening and distressing package is WHY we need Pride
It's 2025 and people are still being shot and killed for being queer
This is why we march and why we fight
the thing about white liberal Americans is that they'll argue to accept bigots into their tent before accepting the bigots' targets.
the targets that have been on the same side as white liberals from the jump.
John Redcorn was pretty much the only contemporary Native representation I had in comedy growing up. Probably the funniest Native character in cartoon history and a lot of that was on Jonathan Joss' pitch perfect rezzy uncle performance. RIP to one of the best to ever do it.
today in #9chickweedlane i learned that, yes, lolly is so edda 2.0 that she's even wearing her mother's wedding dress as she gets married to Her Dad (But Taller)
Danny: “I am the night.” / “I am Catwilcox.”

Has anyone recreated the New 52 Catwoman #1 cover where she’s pouring diamonds on her chest for some reason? Or the #0 cover where she has scoliosis? I’m asking for a friend.
I am that friend. Thanks, Cattleprod. So, anything?
http://www.jimchines.com/cover-posing/
…why? why did that happen?
witness the birth of new dumbingofage inside joke.
God forgive us what have we’ve done….
oh my virgin eyes
Now make it a poster and hang it up on your wall.
I don’t have a printer that will handle that =o
Where are those floorplan printers when you need them.
I’ve seen some scary things in my day. But that? That one will haunt me forever.
That’s even more adorable than I thought it would be.
Despite this, danny still sits a solid 2% under Galasso
Danny makes it work.
Danny choice in shorts is at best unfortunate
Do you mean ‘shorts’ as in shorts, or ‘shorts’ as in boxers? Cause I think those are boxers, which are pretty standard in that style.
Indeed. It looks like boxers, i.e. underwear.
Oh, that’s it. Danny Danned it up again, and forgot his pants.
Carefreely striking a chat with your GF’s roommate while you’re in underwear probably breaks etiquette.
I thought it was kinda hot
Well, yeah, but it still breaks etiquette
Of course, it’s Dina, so she thinks she’s the one being weird.
It doesn’t seem that weird to me. Plus at least he’s almost fully covered.
It’d be more awkward if you were naked.
What? I stand around in my underwear talking to women all the time. Is that why I can’t get a date?
RRARRGGHGL!
It’s the raptor!!!
Ruuuuuuunnnnn!!!
No! Don’t ! It’d consider you a prey.
…wait, I’m not the only person this happens to? This is a full-on Thing?
I was gonna say, if her subject of choice was computers instead of paleontology, she’d basically be me.

NEW HORIZON IS CLOSING ON TO FLY-BY AND AAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
*hype*
and Dawn keeps scanning Ceres.
This is a good month for being alive !
Indeed.
If it was transformers it would probably be Willis. For me, this but with LEGO.
It’s only a full-on thing if your Johnson comes out of the fly…
GRMILOCK UNDERSTANDS!
Me Dina not poorly socialized. Me Dina Queen.
Hearing Dina’s inner voice is going to be so interesting!
We will all be fully qualified paleontologists by the end of the storyline.
If only.
I’m happy that this is apparently just her “usual affection” for him
It doesn’t say affection, it says affectation.
And by looking up the definition it essentially means:
an unnatural form of behavior that is meant to impress others
In this case, the usage is more like “the behaviour everyone expects of her”.
Well, I am impressed by her dinosaur impression.
Ooh, completely misread that one too.
There really is no downside to releasing the raptor.
Until it eats you.
I still see no downside. Food for raptors.
Last guy who thought that got eaten by a Raptor because he thought he could use them for military purposes….honestly he wasn’t the smartest guy I knew.
Why are fat guys always evil in jurrasic park movies!
Because they run the slowest, and therefore know that when the feces hits the rotating oscillator, they are doomed. Might as well be evil then, and try to get the others eaten first!

Don’t forget that Hammond dies in the book as well. Long after the climax, when everyone thinks it’s all over. Alone, with no one aware that he’s even in danger.
As long as you keep your lil’ raptor covered you’ll be fine.
…is that code?
Mask.
I had to stop and think for a second before I remembered Dina figure out Amber’s secret identity earlier in the series.
I’ve said before that I figure Dina knew all along, probably didn’t even realize that it was supposed to be a secret, and only didn’t mention it earlier because she didn’t figure her roommate being a costumed vigilante was unusual or worthy of comment. So for her, Amazi-Girl is just Amber with a piece of cloth tied around her head.
Wow, great analysis, that makes a lot of sense.
And I’ve said before that Amazigirl’s mask doesn’t cover her mouth:

Amalgam-Girl?
John, that was absolutely brilliant, and brilliantly-written. Have an internet!
More people should use this response.
Monday mornings, I generally do.
Monday morning just… don’t talk to me until the coffee kicks in =_=
At every chance with my brother and people who annoy me.
Okay, I am like, SUPER glad to know that I’m not the only one to do this to people when I zone out. Seriously, that’s been gnawing at me for a while.
I know, right?
i will now have to actively prevent myself from doing this every friggin’ time!
With your gintama grav that comment just got automatically double awesome xD
There have been mornings I’ve been like that myself, but usually only because of my being caffeine-deprived.
Awkward… yet effective.
Oh Dina *corny sitcom music*
*Laugh track*
“Wah, wah, wah.” (Does anyone actually use that cliché in sitcom music anymore?)
Now you’ve got me wondering: what is Danny actually saying in those second and third panels?
About how he ran into Ethan after he and Amazi-Girl went their separate ways, and still being slightly inebriated he confessed his feelings. He is recounting their night of passion together in every torrid detail.
Amber doesn’t notice because she just found a shiny pokemon.
I’m guessing in the second, probably “thanks for letting me stay the night” and in the third, probably a series of fart noises or something of equivalent interest.
and those fart noises are a sore subject because it may be how the dinos wiped themselves out!
(source: some random theory)
That actually was an actual theory people had for how they died.
Were those people middle schoolers?
Nope. Actually scientists. They thought that the greenhouse gasses in dino farts accumulated enough to either alter the weather or just asphyxiate them to death. It was a rather old theory iirc.
Until one day a lightning strike at Chicxulub changed everything…
And in the 3rd : “do you always keep your hat when you sleep ?”
“You can leave your hat on.”
ignoring my first post… ¬.¬
2: balloon shape suggests only one line before “the night.”
3: something something something “(t)hat.”
Walking with Dina? More like… WAKING with Dina!!
…I should have commented this yesterday, but I came up with it too late.
…Willis already beat you to it in a tweet.
Sorry.
Dammit! This is what I get for not using Twitter like all the cool kids.
Alternatively… DAMN YOU WILLIS!!
It’s pretty clear that this chapter is the going to be a Dina POV, which should be fascinating!
all the stupid stuff Danny could’ve said, yet we missed it all
Truly this is the greatest storyline.
How does that hat manage to stay on? Velcro?
Who says it’s a hat?
If you unscrew it, there’s a tiny velociraptor operating a series of levers inside her skull.
It’s actually a sentient parasite.
When Dina stares into space like that, I like to imagine it’s the hat that’s talking or thinking. It helps that the thought bubbles are green.
It’s a mouth – Dina’s been bitten by the dinosaur bug, and it hasn’t let go.
Dina is apparently both the most and least observant character.
Even if I’m not lost in my own thoughts, any more than a “good morning” in this situation would elicit the same response from me.
Premarital Masked Hanky Pankies!!!
I forgot about hanky pankies, it’s been a while.
I thought we’d settled on ‘hankies panky?’
I think that’s only applicable for group sex.
More than one instance is “hanky-pankies”. More than one partner is “hankies-panky”. Presumably more than one instance of multiple-partner is “hankies-pankies”.
If deres kinky stuff, hanky spanky.
If it was really a joke, hanky pranky.
If it’s just one person, hanky wanky
The hanky makes cleanup easier.
This seems like an appropriate response for any situation.
Dino must be excited about the new dinosaur found in Canada!
New stuff in real life means nothing to this comic. Five years from now, this comic will have only moved another month.
The feathered dinosaur toy is a Velociraptor from Palaeoplushies! You should be able to get one here!
I have one and it is VERY great! I promise I’m not an advertising spambot. Just someone who is REALLY PASSIONATE about this dinosaur toy.
hey, if they have spambots that can actually respond to posts with proper conversational structure, then i’d be tempted to get it just to support them!
also, can anyone tell me how to bold/italicize in these posts? i imagine that it’s the kind of thing i’d know naturally if i studied more coding languages.
it’s just html. [i], [b], etc, except with instead of brackets.
dammit apparently it interprets anything between those symbols as a tag. they’re the less than and greater than symbols.
<i>italics</i>
<b>bold</b>
<a href=”http://www.dumbingofage.com/”>link</a>
< > < >
& &
Wow, I managed to not screw up any of that multi-layered mess of HTML and escapes.
Okay, I’m not saying Dina has ADD…but that looks all too familiar.
In her defense, she just woke up.
You don’t really need to be defended from having ADD. It’s not a moral failing, just a condition.
Undahpants and dino thoughts. mix them together, and what do you get? this strip, pay more attention, jeez.
Dina’s teeth are once again all pointy. She must have a superpower to switch them from normal chompers to dino-chompers.
I am so happy to see the Palaeoplushies Velociraptor in Dina’s possession! I have it as well, and it is simply fantastic. She has good taste in dino toys.
(also I can relate to so much of this — both the dino things and the “oh shit this person has been talking this whole time” things)
So does *RRARRGGHGLE mean I love you man, or is that *Hssssssss
I’d guess “RRARRHHRNN,” but it’s a mostly baseless guess.
Does she even speak Raptor?
No no no, she’s obviously not speaking raptor here. This is Allosaurian.
I’d guess what she just said means ‘Go away or I eat you’ as it is to hide social blunders and it turns all her teeth razor sharp for tearing you to shreds if you do not listen.
Dunno what THAT mean but “i love you” is RAAAAAAWR:-P
DAMN IT! I’m going to fail my college class on how to speak Raptor at this rate !
Think of this as a crash course in raptor.
Will the quills be confirmed? Time will tell
This is where Dinas explanation of dinosaurs as unchanging from earlier gets interesting, because our knowledge of them is ever evolving
Yeah, but we can only ever move forward to a single truth. Our understanding changes, but the dinosaurs themselves do not. People, however, can fundamentally change. Not our understanding of them. The people themselves.
Damn you Qillis ?
ABSOLUTELY the proper response to Danny. I’m loving this plot line so far!
Well, it’s part one of the appropriate response. Could use a tackle-hug.
RRARRGGHGL-BARRGGHGL !
Dina remains the cutest. Also, Amber’s amazi-hair is on fleek in the morning, I’m jealous.
I’m thinking that he was talking about the kiss.
Danny: Did you or did you not use tongue?
Wait.
So Dina sleeps next to Amber/Amazi-Girl… and Danny?
I hope Dina’s a very heavy sleeper…
…I kinda doubt THIS happened with Dina sleeping just next to them -_-;
Amber is very open to threesomes
I think Dina’s the wrong sex for Amber’s preferred threesomes.
This app desperately needs a ‘like’ button.
Also Danny’s preferred threesome.
For lack of a like button, have an internet. :3
Now, for an interesting detail :
On Amber’s side, the ladder is on the half of the bed that doesn’t that the additional “protection” piece of wood.
But on Dina’s side, it’s on the side with it, and Dina carefully hold onto it as she does down the bed.
I think Dina may be scared of height, or at least doesn’t have a particularly stable footing when climbing down.
…maybe related to Dina small size tho ; each of the ladder step gotta be pretty huge for her legs.
Amber’s bed doesn’t have a ladder attached to it at all. She doesn’t need it.
She should have an Amazi-pole instead.
I thought that was Dan?
And an Amazi-cave. And a young teen sidekick whose parents died tragically in an accident. Maybe Ruth’s brother Howard is available.
Hahaha ! I just assumed it was off-screen.
Looks like Danny manage to get on and off the bed without the ladder too ^^;
..ooor maybe Amazi-girl carries him up there
Throws
Aww man you should totally do a few of these for every character, I’m fucking enjoying the shit out of this one.
I don’t know if the other characters would be nearly as interesting as Dina. I mean, for the most part, we can pretty much tell what they’re thinking. With Dina, not so much.
I would be interested to see what Mike’s thinking, but I very highly doubt Willis would ever let us know, haha.
I … don’t think I want to know what Mike is thinking <_<
I dunno, could be quite fun. At the minimum it will be funny.
Mary sees everyone as SATAN
…She is so an Aspie
I think so too. A friend of mine is a dinosaur-obsessive with an ASD, and I send him links including Dina for both reasons.
You’d be surprised how often this works.
I had to zoom my monitor to read this day strip… maybe is my computer but I have no idea.
That response would be rude under any other circumstances, but we are talking about Danny in his boxers talking to a not at all awake roomie of his gf after spending the night in their room. That’s gotta be ruder.
I’d show spikey teeth too if I knew how
Well, for all we know, he was offering to bring back breakfast.
Possible actual sore subject: bringing back breakfast which isn’t cereal.
I like that she didn’t intend to be inadvertently rude.
I want to meet Dina. I know she isn’t real, but I want to meet her.
I like how DMW referenced Deadpool by giving the balloon background of Dina’s inner monologue a different background colour. It’s a neat reminder that this is a woman whose mind and perception set are not of the average.
Meanwhile, I will spend all day wondering what Danny was saying.
Meanwhile, I’ll spend all day with wondering if Amazi-Girl was banging and DS’ing at the same time…
Well, Nintendo actually advertised the system at one point as “the second best thing to do in the dark”
Dina is love ^___^
Dina is life ^w^
Dina is a
raptordromeosaurid.Surprisingly, all of my autism/ADHD feels.
“Why doesn’t this blog have any diet recipes? It’s all just rants on Jurassic World.”
I kinda want to track down all the times she’s rawred now.
It really bothers me that I don’t know what Danny was saying, because the “sore subject” thing suggests it’s not idle morning chat but rather something that might be important to Dina, like maybe the thing with Becky, or maybe he was apologizing about everyone infantilizing her, or he was asking something about her anxiety attack,
fangirling about how awesome Ethan is, the way he handled her anxiety, or, or, or… Well as you can tell it really bothers me when I don’t know something.
At least that’s what I’d probably do.
Danny just prefers the mask on
I think Danny is saying something like, “I hope it’s okay that I stayed the night”, followed with something about Becky.
That is now my favorite response to “shit, I haven’t been listening.”
This is how this story line starts? I think I’m going to like this, its a really neat look inside the head of one oft he more quiet characters while still having excellent humor! I’ll take 10!
Question: How high are the ceilings in those dorms?
That hovertext. So right.
Comics with Danny just kind of make me feel stupid and depressed at this point.
Why? He’s not doing anything wrong?
when has that ever stopped anyone with Danny?
How dare he…exist
I really hope that Danny does get at least a storyline where he gets stronger and more secure.
if amber wasnt right there next to them id guess he was asking about becky.
amber being a stopper of course because dannys currently looking for someone non-straight to talk to about ethan
though he could still have been asking about becky but in a sort of feeler tendrils way
though now that i think about it he could have been asking about her behavior at the party before then. she told him to turn off his face or something, right
Dina: best character. Ever.
Lucky she cut him off when she did.
He was about to refer to Dimetrodon as a dinosaur, and then there would have been bloodshed.
Let’s see: Danny in his skivvies in the girl’s dorm room, Amber wearing her mask .. Did I miss something which transpired??
Dina is a very heavy sleeper
Danny, try gesticulating wildly. Her vision is based on movement, so she can’t tell when you are talking to her.
Danny is really evolving as a person.
Mere weeks ago (I think?) he was depressed about the fact that Joe was comfortable parading around in front of him in underwear.
Now Danny does the same with girls he barely knows.
It just occured to me, with the Amber/Amazigirl disconnect…
…have Danny and Amber ever had sex?
Well, Danny and Amazi-girl have had sex.
And she admitted at the end that “some of her secrets were unlocked through orgasm” …. and at that point she was not talking in the blue-tinted Amazi-Girl voice balloons.
Draw your own conclusions.
Dammit Dina, Danny was revealing the answer to the question of the universe, and now we will never know, because your thought bubbles got in the way.
I came here after receiving an influx of visits to my website, and lo-and-behold; one of my plushies has a cameo!
Thank you, and I’m going to start at the beginning, now!
