joyce has shackled her sense of well-being to the specious writings of an ancient cult as her personal way of dealing with man’s sense of cosmic insignificance, and walky is bad at guessing people’s ages
Don’t worry, she wants you to. On a different girl I wouldn’t be sure, but I’m pretty sure Billie is the sort of girl that puts those out there on purpose.
My personal favorite is when God opened the earth and had it eat a bucnh of rebel leaders. Then shortly after threw a fireball from Heaven and burned up the other 250 rebels. And these were His own people, I wonder what he would do to a bunch of heathens…
Heh. I’m a (sort of) practising Jew and even I have my favourite “embarassing” Bible verses. Of which the best has to be Judges 1:19: “And the Lord was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.” God, powerless against iron? Oops.
Of course there’s this strip by Mr. Willis about the Danish cartoon which showed Mohammad and got the Danish Embassy in (I think) Syria on fire which is really both funny and demented at the same time… About how drawing Mohammad is forbidden and so Mr. Willis had the power to weaken gods (Which he of course abused) and got set on fire for…
The account exists, but none of their Tweet are public. I guess the account sort of functions like prayer, where you say things to it and get no response at all.
Surprise surprise… Billie does in fact NOT remember Joyce even though Joyce was the ONLY ONE WHO GAVE ENOUGH OF A DAMN to check and see if Billie was alright…(Personally I woulda kicked her while she was down) -_-
God, where in the world is Sal Walkerton (so she can kick Billies ass)?
Thats true…She *seemed* sober during and after the meeting (or at least I think according to her twitter posts “Whats a useless and sober Friday night.”) but I wouldn’t be surprised if she DID go and get drunk afterward, especially with no roommate to snitch on her being out after hours (since they don’t allow alcohol on the premises)
…oh wait, nvm that last post kinda did look like she was drunk afterward..you’re right. D :
:/ I really want Billie to die and I guess its that bias that made me believe she was just a horrible person and forgot about the one person who made sure she was alright and labeled Joyce as some faceless stranger she yelled/ “hazed” at even though she was just trying to help.
At least Mike is FUNNY and hes nice/ happy when hes drunk >_<;
Three strips now with Mike’s physical presence and he has yet to sat a word. This saddens me, and makes me want to punch strangers in the nuts regardless of gender.
Actually, you’re right. I wrote that, then thought, “Wait, where did I get the third one?”, discovered the truth, went to delete my comment, found out I couldn’t, then went to say, “Oh, wait, it is two,” and then my internet shut down, so I went to bed.
@JesseJanitect it is 2. Your link is his first appearance, and yesterday’s was his second. He wasn’t in today’s comic, even though he’s like two feet off panel.
P.S. Willis, we need to be able to delete our own comments.
Ah… so Joyce is going to be something of a bible-thumper. Hopefully she’s too sweet to be revealed as the obnoxious judgmental kind who going to start condemning everyone to hell when she realizes that they’re all not good little bible kids like her.
To say nothing whenever everyone starts revealing themselves to be gay…
There shall be some confusion probably. She wouldn’t be delibrately a dick, I don’t see that being her style, but she’d be decidedly awkward when her good and kind nature and god-is-love thing conflicts perhaps with her religions beliefs (or particular sects beliefs at least). She might even say that it’s ‘wrong’ but deep down a part of her feels that wouldn’t be fair or she’d grow to realise how unfair it would be.
Joyce is rather refreshing in my book and I have met some christians like her- they’re well meaning but just… don’t think things through or how things sound like, she wouldn’t be the HELL-FIRE! brand or the type of person who makes it sound like they can’t WAIT for you to reach eternal damnation. She’d genuinely want to ‘save’ you and thinks that her religion would make you happy. She has good intensions even if they’re misplaced.
And the lord said on the 2nd day in college do not reveail that you were the one that quotted bible verses on twitter. Thou must respect they college students that do not always refference the bible to talk
Y’know guys, I just looked back and maybe the reason Billie doesn’t remember Joyce is well technically she had her eyes closed when yelling face at her. Maybe she doesn’t remember her cause she never saw her?
Why the heck did I think Walky was talking to Billie in the last panel and not Joyce? I don’t even think Joyce & Walky!(tm) even met at all before this moment in time.
If Billie wants to be as popular now as she claims to be back in High School, she better pull her head in and do something other than act like a she’s domr kind of a princess.
Has the Joyce twitter actually been retweeting bible verses?
If not, it totally should.
And that should be a real channel, if it isn’t already.
I could work on that. Unfortunately, Twitter has that 140 character limit.
Easy enough – just use those Psalms, even if they’re soooooo depressing.
joyce has shackled her sense of well-being to the specious writings of an ancient cult as her personal way of dealing with man’s sense of cosmic insignificance, and walky is bad at guessing people’s ages
Demoncat doesn’t understand the point of religion, and prefers to focus on Walky instead of the major characters.
Ragnal is very confused on if this is the same demoncat that ruins the punchline at TNI Shortpacked! or someone that’s being a parody of said moron.
There should be a twitter account for Shit My God Says. Could be fun.
@ShitMyGodSays [Gen1.3-4] There were lights and it made me know this was some good LSD.
The Mike avatar is perfect for that quote…
Now if there were only some way to backdate tweets.
keep shit like that to yourself asshole!
I’m sure I have days like this too…
I’m sorry, but why can’t I get my gaze off of Billie’s shirt? I mean…shirt?
Don’t worry, she wants you to. On a different girl I wouldn’t be sure, but I’m pretty sure Billie is the sort of girl that puts those out there on purpose.
Jesus Christ.
You rang?
The men of Kirjathjearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred forty and three. #nehimiah7:29
“Yes, yes, we’ve heard quite enough about Blizblaz and Himham. Get to the point!”
Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.
These kind of verses really need to be quoted more often. They *are* plentiful, after all.
My personal favorite is when God opened the earth and had it eat a bucnh of rebel leaders. Then shortly after threw a fireball from Heaven and burned up the other 250 rebels. And these were His own people, I wonder what he would do to a bunch of heathens…
Um… bunch, I need to not try to type with cold fingers…
Heh. I’m a (sort of) practising Jew and even I have my favourite “embarassing” Bible verses. My absolute favorite embarrassing Bible verse is Ezekiel 23:20. Look it up.
Your favourite verse is about some tramp bragging about sleeping with guys with big spurting dongers?
I love how Mike has only communicated in this comic through tweets
Someone needs to get @stuffmygodsays so @Joyce_Brown can actually retweet it.
The account exists, but none of their Tweet are public. I guess the account sort of functions like prayer, where you say things to it and get no response at all.
It didn’t exist then, but now it does, and it’s actively tweeting.
She probably doesn’t remember that night. Y’know, being an alcoholic and all…
Thats true…She *seemed* sober during and after the meeting (or at least I think according to her twitter posts “Whats a useless and sober Friday night.”) but I wouldn’t be surprised if she DID go and get drunk afterward, especially with no roommate to snitch on her being out after hours (since they don’t allow alcohol on the premises)

You want Billie to die, eh?
YES. 8 D
Or at least stop being such a friggin’ prick to everyone because she THINKS shes better than everyone else…
Death OR she gets the superiority complex beaten out of her by someone (preferably Sal).
Ruth sorta already beat her to it.
@ TexasNinjaBuzzard:
Oh, I saw what Ruth did and loved it, but she’s STILL acting like an uppity jerk to everyone, so I’m not sure if Billie learned her lesson… D:
TBH I don’t want anyone to die in DoA.
As for Billy, I like her self centered snarkyness. She’ll probably grow out of it, but for now it makes her quite an enjoyable character.
Well, yeah, I don’t ACTUALLY want Billie to die (I’d just wish she’d get with Danny or something and stop being so darn detestable!)
You..LIKE…her self-centeredness…? O.O W-well, to each their own, I say : D
Oh lord I HOPE SHE DOES… D=
I never thought I’d see the day when people would recognize each other through Twitter…
Three strips now with Mike’s physical presence and he has yet to sat a word. This saddens me, and makes me want to punch strangers in the nuts regardless of gender.
*say a word.
So Mike is winning.
Doesn’t he always.
Mike’s only been in two strips
He was in the background of a third.
cite your sources please

Dammit you’re right. My brain wrote him into the background of today’s strip. It took me six checks to acknowledge the fact that he wasn’t in it.
Billie is easily my favourite character in this strip so far. You go, surly girl!
Ah… so Joyce is going to be something of a bible-thumper. Hopefully she’s too sweet to be revealed as the obnoxious judgmental kind who going to start condemning everyone to hell when she realizes that they’re all not good little bible kids like her.

Gotta love that Mike. I suppose that answers my question on Mike’s twitter universe status!
Billie’s not good at recognizing faaaaces.
(I’m so sorry. It’s just that somebody had to…)
And the lord said on the 2nd day in college do not reveail that you were the one that quotted bible verses on twitter. Thou must respect they college students that do not always refference the bible to talk
Galasso needs to be a dean.
Y’know guys, I just looked back and maybe the reason Billie doesn’t remember Joyce is well technically she had her eyes closed when yelling face at her. Maybe she doesn’t remember her cause she never saw her?
Yup, that’ll do it. You have my apprciaetoin.
Why the heck did I think Walky was talking to Billie in the last panel and not Joyce? I don’t even think Joyce & Walky!(tm) even met at all before this moment in time.
Hrm, I wonder what will happen when Joyce realizes that Mike is in fact MikeAndYourMom….
Twitter is all hype to me.
I love Joyce’s face in the last panel. So cute.
Now All I want to know is how they encountered each other on Twitter.
Click the link at the top of the page for the characters’ twitter feeds
There is now an @stuffmygodsays on Twitter.
XDDD
Joyce is so adorable.
What, no obligatory “HI, I’M DAISY!” line?
If Billie wants to be as popular now as she claims to be back in High School, she better pull her head in and do something other than act like a she’s domr kind of a princess.
Aww, they’re all a bunch of twits.
….that is what people who use twitter are called, right? Well, even if I’m wrong I stand by that statement.
…. She’s twitter stalking people with the bible? Already?
