Comics are currently drawn and uploaded through:
Actually, they’re fraternal twins which means they have normal-sibling DNA not twins-sameses DNA. They’re about as closely related as any brother-sister would be. The only way to be technical DNA clones would be if they were the same sex.
Unless you meant something else in that case sorry for random biology/development rant.
Could be that they somehow dragged gender-swapped Joyce out of the Walkyverse and convinced him that he was actually her brother rather than just her and then gender-swapped Walky is going to show up and everything is going to get sketchy really quickly.
This comic is so sweet and adorable that I can’t stand it. I almost expect Sarah to give Joyce a sisterly hug here. That’d be equivalent to about 3 adorable kitten pictures, I think.
Wait, you could that? I thought shipping meant putting two characters and somehow make them a couple regardless of logic or common sense…..and I just possibly pissed off the shipping community.
A very unique way of looking at shipping, Yotomoe. I like it. Joyce and Sarah are fuzzy kitty cute. (since the near rape party, looks like Sarah has adopted Joyce anyway, even if she does drive her bonkers)
a) sex is indeed a verb (different meaning, related to determining the gender of animals)
b) “reverse-sexed” might be clearer to you like “reverse-sex’d” — meaning a clone to which that was done.
Either way I don’t think it was a typo, just kinda slangy.
The visual style reminds me of one of those ‘first day of school’ episodes on kids shows. Just switch the dialogue around. And age the characters down by many, many years.
It wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad if she lost the pants. The hat’s okay, the shirt’s kind of neat, the wristbands are inoffensive, but oh gods those pants…
This is what I’ve been looking forward to. They’ve had the arguments about Joyce’s safety, showing Sarah cares–this is showing Sarah cares in a way they both like and are comfortable with! Budding friendship ahhh
*SQUEEEEEE~* Joyce’s brother just makes me squeal. EEEEEEEEEE~ He’s only in one panel but for some reason I feel like i’m gonna like him. ^v^ Either that or he’ll make me want to beat him up.
Gotta love Sarah’s brand of encouragement. “Joyce, if this retarded bullshit makes you happy, then put that retarded bullshit on and wear it with pride!”
Also, if at some point in this or a future comic we do NOT see the atnics of Joyce and her 5 brothers when they were small, I’m gonna be quite disappointed.
Seems like a goldmine for awkward/enlightening/cute lessons.

Then you can have a single one for panels 1, 2 and 4 that say something fairly unrelated, then panel three can be “MOST ADORABLE JOYCE EVER”. Or the equivalent for future strips.
Also makes downloading the things by right-click or cache-diving somewhat harder.

Good morning! I'm in Uganda to visit family and friends.
But depending on your perspective, don't worry or I'm sorry: I'll be back by the end of the month.
See you soon, NYC.
A great episode that also just had to be like "Okay, for this one specific criminal, Metropolis has the death penalty so he can't reveal Superman's secret identity."
Jeff Harris@nemalki.bsky.social ⋅ 2d
"The Late Mr. Kent" is damn good television.
Probably one of the best-written episodes of television written in the 1990s.
Not just animation. Television period.
some adult in pokemon: it's weird, nobody's ever seen a pokemon egg before! for thousands of years, no pokemon eggs have ever been discovered by humans!

Still researching old sleaze paperbacks and legitimately wondering if the book designer asked the author or editor what should be the tagline at the top and they mumbled out the above tagline and the book designer just...wrote it down.

And now I remember why I love this comic so much. Also how did I end up here so early?
Little did sarah know, there was a demon under the hat!!!
“Hahaha. Now to subtly convince her to commit hanky panky!”
Not just any hanky-panky, “Premaritial hanky-panky”!
“And not just that either, gay premartial hanky-panky. Truly I am the evilest hat demon of them all!”
“Or I could convince her to kill her family and then desecrate their corpses but that’s a little to easy. Besides, it’s been done to death. “
Fully expect the hat to think and talk like Head Alien.
Heh, HEAD alien. I see what you did there
Uh-oh…now I’m worried. What if the hat is one of the sixteen pieces of HA II?
That reminds me: Dexter must totally be voiced by Jon Lovitz. Right, Willis?
Hmm, Joyce turning out to be a demon would be a pretty big twist.
After she slices Sarah into 666 pieces.
DON’T REMIND ME!
But hey at least Walky would sleep with Sarah that is something.
After which the “to be continued” message flashes, and Willis ends the series entirely.
Which leads to a non-indicative grimdark spin-off.
Wait, is this a reference to something?
Yes.
Could you tell me what it is?
But it would spoil the ending.
THEN TEABAG THE REMAINS 666 TIMES!
Then place the remains in the oven with the temperature of 66.6 degrees Celsius.
Why not 666c?
Because that would 1,220 degrees Fahrenheit, which might melt the oven.
Wait until Hell freezes over, served chilled.
Serves 666.
666 pieces? So someone actually counted out how many pieces they were cutting up? What if they lost count?
Like in that Simpsons Halloween episode where it turns out Flanders is Satan. “It’s always who you least expect.”
What are you guys referencing?
The hat sorts people into religions. “A lot of courage I see. Not a bad mind either… I know…. Protestant!”
I totally heard the Sorting Hat’s voice. I laughed.
Oh my dear sweet Jesus on a llama, Wonder Wig, that was beautiful.
+1
So does it sort people into only the current mainstream religions, or might I expect it to sort someone into, say, worship of the Babylonian pantheon?
One of Joyce’s brother’s is appearing in the comic? With a NAME?!?
WHAT IS THIS HERESY.
No, he’s Joshua. Heresy’s in time out.
Heresy is quite a bummer anyways. My favourite Brown brother is Schism BTW.
What about Blasfemy? (He and Heresy are twins obviousely)
I like Blasfemy since he and Heresy are polar opposite twins. He is way more fun.
Given his resemblance to Drew, I’m thinking “Joshua Temptation Brown”.
I’m guessing Charlie is not here today.
Not Charlie Brown but Charlie Zangels is here.
Wait, Joshua? He didn’t make a sword out of demon’s blood did he?
Joshua and Joyce? Makes me wonder if the browns pulled the same thing as my paternal grandparents, where they went P, P, M, M, T, T
Willis mentioned over on BBRoomies! that they’re all ‘J’ names. Of course, she had two more brothers in that universe, so who knows.
I can’t wait until we meet Joyce’s eldest brother, Praise-God Barebone Brown. He’s really puritannical!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Praise-God_Barebone
Attack of the Big Baby Blues!
Is that Alfred Hitchcock in the background of Panel 4?
If not, then it should be.
It’s not fat enough.
Good evening.
Given Willis’ drawing style, I believe it would have to be another reverse-sex clone, in order to be Hitchcock…
It’s Asma. She’s tagged and everything.
Asma Hitchcock.
No it’s option #2, they are indeed reverse-sex clones.
Could be a rare genetic case where he is XY and she ends up XO but are otherwise identical and originally came from one egg.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1012913/pdf/jmedgene00327-0041.pdf
I think Plasma just meant they’re reversed-sex clones.
o/` Oh give me a clone, of my very own, with the Y chromosome changed to X… o/`
Could be that they somehow dragged gender-swapped Joyce out of the Walkyverse and convinced him that he was actually her brother rather than just her and then gender-swapped Walky is going to show up and everything is going to get sketchy really quickly.
Reverse-sexed clone? You mean Rule 63?
Not quite. Rule 63 implies “hanky-panky” stuff.
No, you’re thinking of rule 34. Rule 63 doesn’t imply anything other than flipped sex.
What about rule 42? That’s always a probability.
lol
Think X-23 to Joyce’s Wolverine
Oh god, he’s the anti-Joyce of this universe!
No, he’s the Canadian Joyce =o [Jayce?]
Joey C.
You’re thinking of “Jayce” IIRC.
Does he lead a gang of Wheeled Warriors?
(Too obscure?)
Er, reply above belonged down here.
How did Sarah learn of the “Noah’s Arc” cloning process?
Finally we get to see an actual sibling of hers (I think). Also, her mother looks waaaay different.
Not really. She’s always had a pronounced chin and been slightly heavyset. Unless you mean different from Walkyverse in which case I’d have to agree.
Click her name in the tags and check out her other appearances in the strip.
Agreed. Let’s see if she’s just as crazy about Joyce’s future (TRYING TO BE VAGUE HERE).
In panel three, the hat kind of looks like a baseball cap or batting helmet. (which would actually be easier to make and sell, than the felt beanies)
It doubles as a batting helmet because she knows Sarah is a great Batter.
Joyce’s Brother? IN THE COMIC!?
I don’t know weather to respond with joy or fear.
Foy? Or Jear? Pick your poison, Madock.
Something tells me they’re not going to be pleased with her fashion choices.
Or maybe it’ll turn out They are all closet MM fans.
They’re Marilyn Manson fans? I would not have called that one.
Or they could be Megaman fans.
I thought it meant they loved playing MARBLE MADNESS.
Or they’re a fan of Master Mold.
What about Maniac Mansion?
Or Mad Max? But then again they couldn’t get beyond Thunderdome. Finally got to use that joke.
What? No love for MicroMachines? Uncultured curs…
Well, MicroMachines isn’t well known where I’m from.
Or anywhere really. I constantly forget they exist.
Supposedly Micro Machines went out of production in 2006. So they don’t currently exist as a retail product. Secondary market on the other hand …
Ooh, there was probable a reason, at least in her parent’s eyes, as to why she was never exposed to this show as a child…
We knew that already! It “cultivates a culture of snarkiness!”
Well, if that’s the case, they’re going to love Sarah. XD
Will Robin want to make out with sexswapped Joyce in THIS universe as well? Only time will tell.
Aww yay! A brother!
Just change Sarah’s punctuation slightly and she calls it an ass hat.
This comic is so sweet and adorable that I can’t stand it. I almost expect Sarah to give Joyce a sisterly hug here. That’d be equivalent to about 3 adorable kitten pictures, I think.
Indeed. Everybody is so hung up on Joyce’s family they’re managing to ignore their overwhelming desires to hug panel 3
Considering that there’s no gender changing machine we instead get Joyce’s exactly the same brother.
Can I say that I ship Sarah and Joyce. But not as a couple but as like sisters and adorable sister people who love each other just cuz.
Wait, we can ship people in ways that doesn’t revolve around them wanting to have sex with each other? What insane world did I just step into!?
I am an innovative Shipper. Some don’t approve of my methods.
Innovation’s not a bad thing, it’s a good thing. At least, it’s better than some sick slashfic.
Uh, please rephrase or otherwise just stop talking, thanks.
Why?
Yeah, what’d Aizat do wrong?
Implying that there’s anything wrong with “sick Slashfics” I suppose.
Yeah, that’d be the one, Leonou.
He’s welcome to talk on other subjects!
Agree’d
Wait, you could that? I thought shipping meant putting two characters and somehow make them a couple regardless of logic or common sense…..and I just possibly pissed off the shipping community.
No, that’s fairly accurate. Though some ships have more logic and commons sense than others.
Sounds like friendshipping to me. :B
Moiraaaaaaails!
I believe the term in current use is ‘BroTP’
And Joyce’s shirt now joins Mike’s hair in things that are physically impossible. Seriously are those eyes ALWAYS looking at the reader?
Thought you could get away by her standing in a profile? Nope still see you.
She can’t help it if she is young and pert…the shirts probably weren’t designed with someone as endowed as her in mind
Joyce is kinda average (maybe slightly above). She hasn’t reached Billie’s level yet.
Now I’m just imagining that shirt on billie… Nothing else mind you, just the shirt
Are you also imagining Billie rolling her eyes, calling you a dork, and slamming the door in your face?
That sounds more like Ruth after she catches you eyeing Billie
Sounds like Billie to me.
Admittedly, I’m just assuming the eyeroll.
Well Billie has matured a little, buth Ruth still has her agressive side so I’m leaning on it being a Ruth reaction rather than a Billie reaction
I like how Asma gets a tag even though only her silhouette is visible.
Asma’s going to be the puppetmaster, just you watch. She gave Walky his pajama pants and Joyce her D&MM stuff. She IS the drama tag.
Or that she is the one masterminding everything….like that dog in Silent Hill 2.
Bam! She CAN learn! Character development!
I’ve been waiting YEARS for this moment, and I just realized that.
Is it a bad thing that I’m incredibly attracted to both Mike and Joyce’s moms ?
Not really.
Have your nickels ready.
A very unique way of looking at shipping, Yotomoe. I like it. Joyce and Sarah are fuzzy kitty cute. (since the near rape party, looks like Sarah has adopted Joyce anyway, even if she does drive her bonkers)
What, and your sibling didn’t drive you bonkers?
Joyce: “Say, that reminds me of this one episode where Dexter froze the Cheese and then mucked up the universe!”
“some kind of reverse-sexed clone”
Ahh, memories…
That was one of my favorite arches.
Really? Mine is the Gateway Arch in St. Louis.
We call it Defiance now.
Mine is the Arc de Triumph. That’s how it is spelled, right?
I prefer the uncompromising Modernism of the Arche de la Défense
a) sex is indeed a verb (different meaning, related to determining the gender of animals)
b) “reverse-sexed” might be clearer to you like “reverse-sex’d” — meaning a clone to which that was done.
Either way I don’t think it was a typo, just kinda slangy.
I don’t think they’re commenting on the grammar, but rather remembering a Walkyverse storyline.
Remember when Joyce had a penis for a while? Partridge farm remembers.
What Kamino Neko said.
Ahh, gotcha. :|a My mistake!
I adore the fact that Sarah looks like she was drawn by Bill Waterson in panel 2.
The visual style reminds me of one of those ‘first day of school’ episodes on kids shows. Just switch the dialogue around. And age the characters down by many, many years.
Hah, nice job!
HAHAHAHAHAHA. OMG THIS IS THE GREATEST.
Hilarious!
Oh hey, Joyce is wearing The Boots.
The fashion offense is complete — head to toe.
It wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad if she lost the pants. The hat’s okay, the shirt’s kind of neat, the wristbands are inoffensive, but oh gods those pants…
Those boots were meant for walkin’ and that’s just what they do.
AAAAH SARAH AAAAH
This is what I’ve been looking forward to. They’ve had the arguments about Joyce’s safety, showing Sarah cares–this is showing Sarah cares in a way they both like and are comfortable with! Budding friendship ahhh
I knooooooooooooow aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh<3
*SQUEEEEEE~* Joyce’s brother just makes me squeal. EEEEEEEEEE~ He’s only in one panel but for some reason I feel like i’m gonna like him. ^v^ Either that or he’ll make me want to beat him up.
That’s turning out to be a trend with Willis’ characters isn’t it (you either want to hug them or punch them in the face).
Sometimes, both at the same time.
That blackboard in the background just makes my mind scream battleships.
I’m getting a cuteness overload from panel 3 Joyce. Seriously, I have to resist the urge to hug my screen.
Oh, look, an Asma silhouette.
This is certainly an improvement on Sarah’s part. I’m guessing that’s one of Joyce’s brothers…
Sarah is just the female Mike isn’t she?
Calling it now, some family drama will ensue if Joyce’s brother meets Joyce’s boyfriend.
Probably
the MM shirt and pants are too much but I would like the hat and wristbands
Joyce parents are finally making their appearance.
IT HAS BEGUN!
“Kindess” should probably be “KindNess.”
Sorry. I’m a proofreader, and no-one else has picked up on it.
Also one of the cutest Sarahs ever!
Gotta love Sarah’s brand of encouragement. “Joyce, if this retarded bullshit makes you happy, then put that retarded bullshit on and wear it with pride!”
Aka the blunt version of every “be yourself” encouragement, ever.
Oh no…please tell me it’s a weird coincidence.
I am hearing “my baby” in a creepy singsong, robot-ish voice, from a Youtube video or something, but I can’t place it. What the hell am I thinking of?
Joyce’s brother is Jayce?
Also, if at some point in this or a future comic we do NOT see the atnics of Joyce and her 5 brothers when they were small, I’m gonna be quite disappointed.
Seems like a goldmine for awkward/enlightening/cute lessons.
I just had a brilliant, horrible idea:
Arrange the strip using HTML, CSS, tables, imagemaps, whatever, so EACH PANEL has a SEPARATE alt-text.
Then you can have a single one for panels 1, 2 and 4 that say something fairly unrelated, then panel three can be “MOST ADORABLE JOYCE EVER”. Or the equivalent for future strips.
Also makes downloading the things by right-click or cache-diving somewhat harder.
And of course that one different area need not be full frame size… you could really drive people crazy looking for it, as some kind of treasure hunt.
MUAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA
(…one of those people being me. Damn it.)
Hahaha, thank you
Wow, how ironic is Sarah’s comment now?
Ironic, or subtly foreshadowing? OooooOOOOOoooooohhhhh!!!
But she did say Joc was the reverse sex, not gender.
Big sister, little sister ^^
my favorite strip! also yes, most adorable Joyce.
Or not.
