You should look into Silk and Snow’s blankets – I was hesitant at first since they’re a bit spendy and I live in a hot climate, but I got the heaviest one and haven’t regretted it a single day and use it year ’round. It’s pleasantly chunky.
I got a cooling blanket for precisely this reason: so I can use the weighted blanket (on top of the cooling blanket) in warmer weather too.

I don’t read this storyline like this at all. The story or characterization is not about “will Joyce finally have cishet sex”, it’s about Joyce dealing with her internalized baggage and preconception of “will I finally have [cishet, penetrative] sex?”
The story itself actually counters this internalized standard quite a bit: both through characters telling Joyce to take her time and do what she wants; and through Joyce’s own realizations and ability to deal with her internalized baggage in real time (and/or blundering through some of it, and hopefully she’ll circle back and realize some more soon).
Even if it’s about her baggage related to P-i-V sex, it’s still ultimately about will or won’t she have P-i-V sex with a man. Which I have realised the last couple days/weeks, is making me personally uncomfortable.
Kind of personally hoping that Willis is going to deconstruct that idea by Joyce talking to Roz again. Joyce says “we’ve done other stuff, but not sex” and Roz goes, “oh by a lotta people’s definitions, you’ve already had sex then! Joyce need a weighted blanket but I don’t think anyone makes one in that weight range. I’m assuming Joe is in the 100 kg range (220-225 pounds in Freedom Units) and Joyce is claiming that is insufficient. The heaviest weight blanket I have seen advertised was about 40-50 pounds.
