I think one day Billy will wake up in the dorm in a bathtub full of ice and one of her kidneys will be missing. And all her dorm mates will have disappeared.
It’s one of the few organs that can regenerate, they just need a good part.
Where does the bathtub come from, though? Maybe it just inexplicably shows up when it’s needed, and the first thing Billie questions after coming to is its presence.
The latter is the more rational explanation, but this being the *Dumb*iverse and all, it probably is more reasonable to assume they’re all crazy, rather than merely being thankful Billie isn’t Malaya.

I’m not sure whether your greatest crime is rehashing overused Police lyrics or implying that its okay to serve a steak well-done. Either way, you’re dead to me now.
Fun fact: Trump insists on his steaks being very well done, as in, it rocks on the plate when it is served. He also douses it in ketchup for some reason. I don’t care what your politics are, that’s a travesty in and of itself.
I like mine done medium-well, seasoned before grilling, and with a little Sweet Baby Ray’s hickory brown sugar sauce. Steak sauce is too sharp and overpowering, like drinking worcestershire sauce straight from the bottle.
I don’t think she needs to STOP drinking so much as she needs to balance her life in terms of not treating drinking as an activity in and of itself. Going to class buzzed might be better than just not going, period. There’s a certain breed of person that simply doesn’t take to total sobriety, possibly for genetic reasons, and she may be one of them.
Sorry for the non-sequeteur, but I get really antsy when people suggest quitting outright as a solution to all substance-related issues. Known a few addicts that either killed themselves after trying and failing to quit for the upteenth time or are over-medicated shells of their former selves because they turned to the prescription solution as to not let down everyone wanting them to get ‘clean'(which MAY be the way Ruth is going, time will tell).
Maybe not stopping cold turkey necessarily, but the alcoholism in Billie’s situation is a representation of a bigger problem. She refuses to believe that her addiction is a problem, even despite wrecking a car and driving away Alice. Even after seeing what it’s done to Ruth.
Recovery is always a case-by-case basis, but Billie doesn’t even want to admit that she has a case in the first place.
I’m all for balance and have no problem with casual drinking, but like Nono says, Billie has a serious problem she’s made no attempt to address. Maybe she can cut back drastically without stopping cold turkey, but she’s got to actually do that.
I suspect it’s that she’s still basically functional that lets her and others ignore her problem. Going to class buzzed might be better than not going (though remember she tried to blow off class this morning to drink, so that’s not quite the situation). And in the long run, going to work drunk will get you fired, unless you’re really successful at pretending otherwise.
All those things you say are true, but remember that Billies 1. Rich, and 2. Going into Journalism. The odds of her getting a job that gives a shit if she’s an alcoholic or not are pretty damn low.

There’s no prescribed alternative to alcohol, that’s only for a handful drugs where being clean is not an option. Substitution of alcohol for addicts is not a thing.
Addicts get depressed. That’s normal. The mind gets an overdose of certain hormones on regular basis and classifies the normal, comparably low level as “too low”. And a depression is born. It’s just a matter of time. If this depression has reached suicidal level, you basically have only one option to survive. Quit. Your depression won’t go away unless you quit.
Alcoholism is deadly. It’s not a question of whether it will kill you. The question is whether something else might kill you faster. And alcoholics can’t cut down. Controlled drinking doesn’t work long-term. They have to quit or they’ll continue their downward spiral. Alcohol Addiction is a pretty brutal thing that doesn’t leave many options.
Okay, but really, he should be paying attention to Billie and not rebounding with the crazy vigilante who he bonded with over crushing self-esteem issues.
Yeah he should be paying attention to the person that’s taking his mind off of the breakup…by mentioning it when he’s smiling and clearly not thinking about it. Because she’s too self-centered to pay attention to the person she’s supposedly here to help.

These are funny but I am still waiting for the comic were Dorothy goes She Hulk on Radiah and by that I mean outlawyers Radiah cause She Hulk is a great lawyer I think truth be told it’s been years since I have read She Hulk. Some of you read that and thought violent outburst.
I thought it was Jennifer who did the lawyering and She Hulk who did the smashing.
But it’s been awhile, so I may be misremembering and She Hulk did both the lawyering and the smashing.
It’s been both off and on. For a long time she stayed green full time and did lawyering that way. Lately she’s apparently had Hulk style anger issues as She-Hulk so she’s been trying to stay Jennifer.
Which I don’t like as much. I liked the 8′ tall green lawyer.
They weren’t actually cited on the case due to the deal they had with the prosecution, but they both actually did a LOT of legwork on the Kingpin case. Figuratively and literally. They turned over 16 briefcases of evidence to the state police, and also broke eight dudes’ legs.
What’s the money on Walky and Amber establishing a friendship like Sal and Danny have? Just good wholesomeness that every party involved desperately needs?
I mean, I think it’s that or Dorothy sees Amber and Walky holding hands or smooching and then our precious cinnamon roll falls apart and I don’t wanna see that.
Technically, it was Amazi-girl (sp?) who dated Danny.
Since Amber is increasingly seeing her as a separate entity (and the break up with Danny has had longer to settle) she may actually be ready for some Walky lovin’.
Given that Amber and Amazi-Girl are feuding and no longer share memories, I can imagine Amber and Walky getting together and then Amazi-Girl wakes up to take over in the middle of the night to find this boy she barely knows in bed with her.
Hijinks ensue.
As I said yesterday, I don’t really like the idea – certainly not unless Amber lets Walky know what’s really going on with her. And not until Walky’s somewhat more over Dorothy.
No, see, you understand. Steak sauce is not meant to season steak, it’s meant to fix ruined steak. Like you’re not gonna just not eat the steak when you’re a guest, because it’s a steak, but if any part of it is just shit you hammer out the steak sauce and it’s all socially acceptable that way.

Which is funny because I have at the moment only one actual smut fic of my own. I specialise in “soul crushing angst” or “disgustingly cute and fluffy sap”
I enjoyed reading the New Planet New Life series from 2014 to 2016, and Loophole made me really sad. JohnVris fics where my personal alcohol when I was sad.
HPMOR introduced me to MLP fanfic (and later mlp itself) via mlp:loops and friendship is optimal. somehow I wandered into pokemon fanfic from there. I’ve also read a lot of naruto stuff. there are just so many ways to break that universe with naruto’s OP powers
one of my favourites, though, barely counts as fanfic; it’s set in the harry potter universe, but in america… iiirc it’s the Alexandra Quick series. (I don’t know if it’ll ever be finished, but there are, like, 4-6 books written. iirc the author posts it an entire book at a time.)
oh, and I read some steven universe fanfic this year, but most of it was on archiveofourown and you can’t get update notifications unless you have an account and I’ve been on their “waitlist” for months
I love HPMOR so, so much. Especially the first few chapters, where the Wizarding World so very clearly isn’t ready for Harry and McGonagall is the only one who figures it out.

I really like Mass Effect crossover fics. MY personal favorite is Mass Effect Human Revolution. let me find a summary….
The gap between present day and the Mass Effect times has been filled by the Deus Ex games’ events… and anti-augmentation fanatics have won. David Sarif, predicting a new dark age, has had his stock of knowledge cached away and key Sarif Industries personnel, including himself and Adam Jensen, turned into Human Popsicles in the hope of seeing a less bigoted future.
It’s the 2170s when the Sarif Cache is found, and unfortunately for Sarif, anti-aug feelings are still running high. Adam is the only one who is revivable, and after some initial difficulty he takes his leave from Earth in search of a friendlier place to lay down roots. After an attempt to settle in Elysium didn’t go so well, he has become a proud and decorated Detective Sergeant in C-SEC and works with Garrus Vakarian.
However, things are about to go wrong spectacularly. When one who should have gone on to become a hero of legend is found murdered, Adam must once again take up the twin mantles of detective and warrior to discover the truth and save the galaxy from enemies both shadowy and overt, ancient and current, mysteriously alien and disturbingly familiar.
I haven’t read much fanfic in a while, but I used to read a lot of Harry Potter fics years ago, and more recently I’ve read a lot of MLP fics. I even wrote an MLP fic once. But I rarely read fanfics these days. Just too busy with work and other stuff to read any now.
I download them to my phone and read them when I got a free minute. In the bathroom, walking places, in the bus, while using the static bike in the gym…
I alternate a lot between harry potter, the hobbit, and any animated thing i might be into that allows me to ship two guys at the time. Now that banana fish has an anime maybe i can finally get the fix it fic I’ve been craving.
I used to read Final Fantasy VIII and Kingdom Hearts fics, then I checked out a few MLP and Harry Potter ones. It’s been a while, but the last few I read were a FNAF/Aqua Teen Hunger Force crossover, some erotic Spider-Man stuff, and the classic known as 30 Hs.
Not really into fanfic, but if someone could point me at some good Ran/Sera action (from Case closed) I’d appreciate a link.
Whenever I google for Ran the stuff I find with “erotic” content is the thourogly unerotic rape stuff. Some guys really must have a large problem with strong girls

I’ve got two that I enjoyed immensely. Hill of the Swords and XSGCOM
First one is a crossover between Zero no Tsukaima and Fate/Stay Night where the one who gets summoned by Louise is an older, more cynnical Shirou Emiya. Instead of stupid tsundere romance we get a genuinely sweet brother/sister relationship between them. There are harem antics involved though, it IS Shirou after all.
XSGCOM is a cross between Stargate and XCOM (the first game, not the remake) and it gives us a more pro-active (meaning brutal and aggressive) humanity which scares the absolute crap out of Jaffa. They were getting their asses kicked by SG-1 with MP5, XCOM moving in with Laser rifles was Much Much worse. Lots of fun interactions and they actually put the various tech they gathered to good use. The author’s plan was to make humanity strong enough to fight Ori without any of the Ancient Ass-pulls involved
I read fanfic of anything I like, to be honest. Lately it’s been wrestling, mostly because wrestling plots in some actual wrestling shows have been so thin on personality and character arcs (depending on the company, anyway). I’m also a fanfic writer (wrestling, Marvel, DBZ, Sailor Moon). What-if scenarios are fun to examine.
If it’s a piece of media I’ve consumed that people write femslash for then I probably read it. Right now I’m working my way through roughly a billion Ghostbusters fics because I finally got around to watching it.
I’m not really all that interested in fanfic, though I do love A Breach of Trust, the au fanfic for Mob Psycho 100. The author gets a lot of hate for “torture porn”? Which is ridiculous because she uses the same strain of violence that the manga did, she just explores the emotional effect more. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s read the manga, or if you’ve even just watched the anime

I used to read toooons of Homestuck fic when I was a teen but nowadays I don’t really read fic anymore. Not because I’m against it or hate it now, I just don’t go out of my way to? I guess it doesn’t interest me as much.
There are some really stellar Sherlock Holmes fanfics out there. Like, serious literary quality. That fandom’s been going for like a century though, so I suppose that isn’t such a surprise.
Billie should realize, Walky is a teenager with a smartphone. He was never going to be paying attention to her in the first place even if he wasn’t texting Amber.
I just realized a worst case scenario. Walky dates Amber and Danny and Amazigirl get back together. Danny doesn’t know the extent of Amber and Amazigirl’s lack of common knowlege.
Ooh. That has possibilities. Danny and Walky fight. Sal jumping in the middle. Amber’s two personalities realizing there isn’t room for the both of them and one suppressing the other and/or they merge into a third personality ala Susannah Dean from the Dark Tower series.
Or none of that. There are plenty of ways that situation could develop.
I’m pretty sure Willis is trying to take our minds off of the mutually-assured destruction of Joyce and Raidah. Which may already be happening off-screen.

If you’re referring to the entire comic, then remember that Dumbing of Age is on a sliding timescale – it’s always set in the real-world “present time”. The characters are currently interacting with each other in the year 2018.
It’s kind of interesting when you think about Robin’s political career. She is I believe a first term Representative. When she first appeared in 2011, she was elected in the Tea Party Wave in 2010.
During her big storyline with Leslie in 2016, she’d been elected in the 2014 mid terms and was coming up on reelection in a Presidential year that looked pretty good for an incumbent Republican. Currently, she was elected in 2016 and is looking at reelection facing a potential Blue Wave.
Of course, by the time her election actually comes around, she will have been elected as a Republican in what we hope will be that big Wave.
I think it’s less Walky and more her new dorm. She was being fed a steady diet of humility so far, until she moved there and became the local goddess. Now all her bad old habits are coming out.
There’s one redirect ad that pops up bogus, un-closeable “Congratulation iPhone user! You’re the winner, click OK to redeem your prize!” boxes that keeps sneaking through. I have to force close the browser, go into airplane mode, then close the pop-up and comic tabs to kill the thang ding. er, dang thing. I wish I could be more specific than that, but I have no idea which one it is.
Setting the browser to request the desktop site (changing the useragent string to claim it’s a desktop) is a viable workaround.
In my experience, most fan(dom)s value sexual and/or romantic relationships over friendships, and expect the latter to become the former. Almost always.
Ultimately, I am a bit bitter against western civilization for having killed the concept of Non-Romantic, Non-Familiar Love out of a misplaced fear of “Teh Gais” (Yes I know, I’m mocking the cording to what I’ve read, Love among friends was considered the most important kind of love up until about the 19th century, and a sudden case of paranoia in the western world against Homosexuality killed that dead. Even now this can be seen, declaring that you love someone is a rare thing, reserved for only the closest to your heart or your family. If you tell a friend you love them? Prepare to be stigmatized and mocked. To be called a deviant (unless you were drunk when you did it).
Fraternal love, right? But good points all around for indicating how popular this was for a time. And now it amounts to “No homo” jokes. It’s unfortunate.

So, Amber/Walky definitely looks like it’s going to be a thing on one level or another! They share a similar mindset and hobbies, after all! If Walky is Willis, is Amber a version of Maggie? Does she have a super-suit in her closet?
Well that’s hardly a fair comparison. It’s a different medium, so allowances have to be made. And the writing is still on the same level. The punchline with the golf ball in issue 15 almost made me pee a little.
That’s what they always say when they screw something wonderful up adapting it to a different media. “Oh, we had to make those changes. They just wouldn’t have worked in this format.” Bah. They just butchered it because they didn’t understand it.
And thus Dexter and Monkey Master was Ruined FOREVER! *sarcasm*
Though to be fair you can’t just adapt something directly to a different medium and expect it to stay good(I mean, just look at the American Gods comic adaption! Overly cluttered with tons of word bubbles with text lifted verbatim from the book.)

I think one day Billy will wake up in the dorm in a bathtub full of ice and one of her kidneys will be missing. And all her dorm mates will have disappeared.
That would cover, like, one semester for one of them, tops.
Livers are worth more, but I imagine Billie’s isn’t exactly pristine.
It’s one of the few organs that can regenerate, they just need a good part.
Where does the bathtub come from, though? Maybe it just inexplicably shows up when it’s needed, and the first thing Billie questions after coming to is its presence.
The latter is the more rational explanation, but this being the *Dumb*iverse and all, it probably is more reasonable to assume they’re all crazy, rather than merely being thankful Billie isn’t Malaya.

I like mine done medium-well, seasoned before grilling, and with a little Sweet Baby Ray’s hickory brown sugar sauce. Steak sauce is too sharp and overpowering, like drinking worcestershire sauce straight from the bottle.

She won’t even admit she needs to stop drinking. So, she probably won’t.
I don’t think she needs to STOP drinking so much as she needs to balance her life in terms of not treating drinking as an activity in and of itself. Going to class buzzed might be better than just not going, period. There’s a certain breed of person that simply doesn’t take to total sobriety, possibly for genetic reasons, and she may be one of them.
Sorry for the non-sequeteur, but I get really antsy when people suggest quitting outright as a solution to all substance-related issues. Known a few addicts that either killed themselves after trying and failing to quit for the upteenth time or are over-medicated shells of their former selves because they turned to the prescription solution as to not let down everyone wanting them to get ‘clean'(which MAY be the way Ruth is going, time will tell).
Maybe not stopping cold turkey necessarily, but the alcoholism in Billie’s situation is a representation of a bigger problem. She refuses to believe that her addiction is a problem, even despite wrecking a car and driving away Alice. Even after seeing what it’s done to Ruth.
Recovery is always a case-by-case basis, but Billie doesn’t even want to admit that she has a case in the first place.
I’m all for balance and have no problem with casual drinking, but like Nono says, Billie has a serious problem she’s made no attempt to address. Maybe she can cut back drastically without stopping cold turkey, but she’s got to actually do that.
I suspect it’s that she’s still basically functional that lets her and others ignore her problem. Going to class buzzed might be better than not going (though remember she tried to blow off class this morning to drink, so that’s not quite the situation). And in the long run, going to work drunk will get you fired, unless you’re really successful at pretending otherwise.
All those things you say are true, but remember that Billies 1. Rich, and 2. Going into Journalism. The odds of her getting a job that gives a shit if she’s an alcoholic or not are pretty damn low.

There’s no prescribed alternative to alcohol, that’s only for a handful drugs where being clean is not an option. Substitution of alcohol for addicts is not a thing.
Addicts get depressed. That’s normal. The mind gets an overdose of certain hormones on regular basis and classifies the normal, comparably low level as “too low”. And a depression is born. It’s just a matter of time. If this depression has reached suicidal level, you basically have only one option to survive. Quit. Your depression won’t go away unless you quit.
Alcoholism is deadly. It’s not a question of whether it will kill you. The question is whether something else might kill you faster. And alcoholics can’t cut down. Controlled drinking doesn’t work long-term. They have to quit or they’ll continue their downward spiral. Alcohol Addiction is a pretty brutal thing that doesn’t leave many options.
Trying to solve other peoples bullshit rather than her own bullshit IS her way of working on herself.

These are funny but I am still waiting for the comic were Dorothy goes She Hulk on Radiah and by that I mean outlawyers Radiah cause She Hulk is a great lawyer I think truth be told it’s been years since I have read She Hulk. Some of you read that and thought violent outburst.

They weren’t actually cited on the case due to the deal they had with the prosecution, but they both actually did a LOT of legwork on the Kingpin case. Figuratively and literally. They turned over 16 briefcases of evidence to the state police, and also broke eight dudes’ legs.

I used to only read Harry Potter fic until the new Star Wars came onto the scene.
A couple different anime I’m nostalgic for (eg FMA), and Harry Potter, less because I’m a superfan, more because it is more than plentiful so I can always eventually find something worth reading or in the very specific search constraints I want.
I don’t read fanfic aside from a few The Good Place fics I read a while ago because I was jonesing for the second half of season two to start.
I basically only read smutty fanfics (usually for videogames I play).
Which is funny because I have at the moment only one actual smut fic of my own. I specialise in “soul crushing angst” or “disgustingly cute and fluffy sap”
For a few months, I only ever read Tenchi Muyo erotica. Then I found the website Literotica. Then I grew out of it.
Years later, I found hentai manga (sorry but it’s mostly shipping and sex that had me reading fan fiction).
I did read some Higurashi/Umineko/When They Cry fanfic a couple months ago. It was pretty decent.
I enjoyed reading the New Planet New Life series from 2014 to 2016, and Loophole made me really sad. JohnVris fics where my personal alcohol when I was sad.
HPMOR introduced me to MLP fanfic (and later mlp itself) via mlp:loops and friendship is optimal. somehow I wandered into pokemon fanfic from there. I’ve also read a lot of naruto stuff. there are just so many ways to break that universe with naruto’s OP powers
one of my favourites, though, barely counts as fanfic; it’s set in the harry potter universe, but in america… iiirc it’s the Alexandra Quick series. (I don’t know if it’ll ever be finished, but there are, like, 4-6 books written. iirc the author posts it an entire book at a time.)
oh, and I read some steven universe fanfic this year, but most of it was on archiveofourown and you can’t get update notifications unless you have an account and I’ve been on their “waitlist” for months
I love HPMOR so, so much. Especially the first few chapters, where the Wizarding World so very clearly isn’t ready for Harry and McGonagall is the only one who figures it out.
HPMOR annoyed me enough I never got very far in it.
I did like Alexandra Quick series though. I should check in on that again. I don’t think there were that many books when I last looked.
Got dragged into the Check Please fandom recently so there’s a lot of backlog. Now THIS is a productive fandom.

I really like Mass Effect crossover fics. MY personal favorite is Mass Effect Human Revolution. let me find a summary….
The gap between present day and the Mass Effect times has been filled by the Deus Ex games’ events… and anti-augmentation fanatics have won. David Sarif, predicting a new dark age, has had his stock of knowledge cached away and key Sarif Industries personnel, including himself and Adam Jensen, turned into Human Popsicles in the hope of seeing a less bigoted future.
It’s the 2170s when the Sarif Cache is found, and unfortunately for Sarif, anti-aug feelings are still running high. Adam is the only one who is revivable, and after some initial difficulty he takes his leave from Earth in search of a friendlier place to lay down roots. After an attempt to settle in Elysium didn’t go so well, he has become a proud and decorated Detective Sergeant in C-SEC and works with Garrus Vakarian.
However, things are about to go wrong spectacularly. When one who should have gone on to become a hero of legend is found murdered, Adam must once again take up the twin mantles of detective and warrior to discover the truth and save the galaxy from enemies both shadowy and overt, ancient and current, mysteriously alien and disturbingly familiar.
I haven’t read much fanfic in a while, but I used to read a lot of Harry Potter fics years ago, and more recently I’ve read a lot of MLP fics. I even wrote an MLP fic once. But I rarely read fanfics these days. Just too busy with work and other stuff to read any now.

I used to read Final Fantasy VIII and Kingdom Hearts fics, then I checked out a few MLP and Harry Potter ones. It’s been a while, but the last few I read were a FNAF/Aqua Teen Hunger Force crossover, some erotic Spider-Man stuff, and the classic known as 30 Hs.
Not really into fanfic, but if someone could point me at some good Ran/Sera action (from Case closed) I’d appreciate a link.
Whenever I google for Ran the stuff I find with “erotic” content is the thourogly unerotic rape stuff. Some guys really must have a large problem with strong girls

I’ve got two that I enjoyed immensely. Hill of the Swords and XSGCOM
First one is a crossover between Zero no Tsukaima and Fate/Stay Night where the one who gets summoned by Louise is an older, more cynnical Shirou Emiya. Instead of stupid tsundere romance we get a genuinely sweet brother/sister relationship between them. There are harem antics involved though, it IS Shirou after all.
XSGCOM is a cross between Stargate and XCOM (the first game, not the remake) and it gives us a more pro-active (meaning brutal and aggressive) humanity which scares the absolute crap out of Jaffa. They were getting their asses kicked by SG-1 with MP5, XCOM moving in with Laser rifles was Much Much worse. Lots of fun interactions and they actually put the various tech they gathered to good use. The author’s plan was to make humanity strong enough to fight Ori without any of the Ancient Ass-pulls involved
I once read a Harry Potter book 7 erotic fanfic by mistake while trying to find the original online. I was traumatized for many days.
I read fanfic of anything I like, to be honest. Lately it’s been wrestling, mostly because wrestling plots in some actual wrestling shows have been so thin on personality and character arcs (depending on the company, anyway). I’m also a fanfic writer (wrestling, Marvel, DBZ, Sailor Moon). What-if scenarios are fun to examine.
If it’s a piece of media I’ve consumed that people write femslash for then I probably read it. Right now I’m working my way through roughly a billion Ghostbusters fics because I finally got around to watching it.
I’m not really all that interested in fanfic, though I do love A Breach of Trust, the au fanfic for Mob Psycho 100. The author gets a lot of hate for “torture porn”? Which is ridiculous because she uses the same strain of violence that the manga did, she just explores the emotional effect more. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s read the manga, or if you’ve even just watched the anime

I used to read toooons of Homestuck fic when I was a teen but nowadays I don’t really read fic anymore. Not because I’m against it or hate it now, I just don’t go out of my way to? I guess it doesn’t interest me as much.
There are some really stellar Sherlock Holmes fanfics out there. Like, serious literary quality. That fandom’s been going for like a century though, so I suppose that isn’t such a surprise.

It’s kind of interesting when you think about Robin’s political career. She is I believe a first term Representative. When she first appeared in 2011, she was elected in the Tea Party Wave in 2010.
During her big storyline with Leslie in 2016, she’d been elected in the 2014 mid terms and was coming up on reelection in a Presidential year that looked pretty good for an incumbent Republican. Currently, she was elected in 2016 and is looking at reelection facing a potential Blue Wave.
Of course, by the time her election actually comes around, she will have been elected as a Republican in what we hope will be that big Wave.

Well that’s hardly a fair comparison. It’s a different medium, so allowances have to be made. And the writing is still on the same level. The punchline with the golf ball in issue 15 almost made me pee a little.

That’s what they always say when they screw something wonderful up adapting it to a different media. “Oh, we had to make those changes. They just wouldn’t have worked in this format.” Bah. They just butchered it because they didn’t understand it.
And thus Dexter and Monkey Master was Ruined FOREVER! *sarcasm*
Though to be fair you can’t just adapt something directly to a different medium and expect it to stay good(I mean, just look at the American Gods comic adaption! Overly cluttered with tons of word bubbles with text lifted verbatim from the book.)
