I am way out of my depth here, but people more knowledgeable about this than me have been highly critical of media fetishizing queer people and romances for a straight audience, that handling this stuff badly can hurt more than it helps and reinforce harmful attitudes.

Something weird to me about Amber as a person is that for someone who constantly scrutinizes herself for behaviours that could be seen as socially awkward or a faux-pas, the one thing that has her dive right in is getting horny on main.

This ain’t a story complaint, either in thinking it’s presented as endearingly quirky or even just the portrayal of prejudice in likeable and sympathetic characters; that’s not only something I think fiction absolutely should engage with more often, we also just got done Joyce reciting the comments section every time we find out Ruth isn’t actually a lesbian.
I know. I think it’s extremely true to Amber’s character, and it’s extremely true to the actions of far too many women.
To be perfectly frank, having a series like DoA where I know going in that there’s no desire to praise this behaviour helps me parse through the behaviour itself, much like we just did with Joyce and Ruth. I can think about why Amber thinks it, which is the point of a story.

I could see him going either way on remembering that. It wasn’t a hugely different type of interaction than what he was used to from Mike, so it could just blend into his general impression of what Mike was like.
