Why is Pikachu in a cage? Also, yesterday you said something about your Discord being in the Quite Place. What did you mean by that? It sounds ominous.
I am so sorry. That really sucks. I hope you can maybe recover some of it. If you have to make a new discord account, will you at least be able to get back into your old channels?
That sounds like the sort of stuff that would be highly corrosive and really bad for skin to come in contact with, as well as so sticky that washing it off is going to be a challenge…
I can see an Optimus Prime pun on the blackboard already.
Is Willis spending a quarter century plus making webcomics simply to recruit people to Transformers fandom, and is he being paid well for this? Because I didn’t care about them before yet I’m getting curious now.
The class laughs and cheers, and she’s like “Yeah, that’s right! I sure did kick that stuffy old bureaucrat’s ass, didn’t I?! I’ll bet you’re all pretty entertained right now, and inclined to forgive my wacky transgressions! …The first part of today’s lecture will specifically be about sensationalism, performative rebellion, and their vital role in getting the masses to accept the rise of autocracy.”
i mean, i’m sure it’d be cathartic to imagine yourself pushing someone in ur class as a teacher , i don’t condone violence but there were def some bratty students that need a slap/their ass kicked
Considering his immigration status is a sword of Damocles, it’d be a problem of worker exploitation if he were anybody in the world except for Jason. She should help back up and then push him down again.
Jason absolutely does not deserve to be exploited under an unequal power dynamic. /s
… well, okay, NOBODY deserves that, but if anyone did, Jason would… actually be about C-grade or D-grade baddie tier and there’d be a whole lot of others ahead of him who deserved it more…
… look, I had a point SOMEWHERE here, could someone help me look for it?
They are very close, and this not a poli sci class and it IS a webcomic discussion However, you are right: That’s the way it is normally phrased, because that’s what Authority figures frequently do: pass laws to expand their authority into domains where they do not currently have power. Most powerful figures without legal authority (like a religious leader, celebrity, or artisan) don’t run for office to gain power, they expand their support base.
I wonder if Walky will continue his pattern of microaggressions to Jason and Asma along with anyone else he sees as not entirely like him. Hell, he’s weirded out by even the mildly sincerely religious.
Where does this come from?
Asma seems more like he just treats her like a piece of furniture. “mail office lady”, which isn’t great but doesn’t have anything to do with her being different or her religion.
Nor do I see him as weirded out by the mildly religious. He teased first semester Joyce about it, but she was far more than mild and started out being quite obnoxious about it. He dated Lucy, knowing she was a regular church-goer. He was disturbed by the actual services he went to with her, but that’s not quite the same thing.
every time Robin shows up, I get a little hope that that means we’ll see Leslie soon. And when Leslie shows up, I get a little hope that Robin is around the corner.

btw if you're one of those rando bluesky weirdos who doesn't know me but sees me in the wild being sarcastic and don't know i'm being sarcastic because you haven't taken like 30 seconds to, like, maybe look at my user profile or something, keep walking, you're not going to score internet points here
Here's an entertaining cite at the bottom of the first page

Where did Hollywood go so wrong? I thought movies were supposed to be an escape from reality, a chance to put your worries aside and not have to think about any underlying ideas or concepts. Well, not anymore.
theonion.com/you-can...
It's not a new argument, of course, but Chesterton dismissed it effectively in 1908.
"You will hear everlastingly... this argument that the rich man cannot be bribed. The fact is, of course, that the rich man is bribed; he has been bribed already. That is why he is a rich man."

Hawley dismisses Trump lining his pockets with his memecoin: "Listen, I think nobody believes that Donald Trump can be bought. I mean, what does Donald Trump need more money for?"
wilbur, savvy enough to know he's in a comic strip but still not a great actor, awkwardly lifts a muffin up into frame so that we, the audience, understand that he has a muffin right now, which is very important narratively, but he's not really selling it well as an organic, human action
Not JUST a piece of furniture, like a table to flip
But we have it on good authority he’s very fetching.
And you have to admire the way Robin teaches by demonstrating her points.
Robin’s methods are very good at teaching certain ideas, which may or may not be related to what she intends to or thinks she’s teaching.
Well, <a

Chesterfield isn’t normally so easy to flip. He make be more wobbly due to the stick up his ass being loosened.
A bit.
Maybe.
Oh yay. I butchered the html.
Happy Monday all!

Why is Pikachu in a cage? Also, yesterday you said something about your Discord being in the Quite Place. What did you mean by that? It sounds ominous.
i recently fell for a scam in which i lost all my paypal balance and my discord account to IRL team rocket
I am so sorry. That really sucks. I hope you can maybe recover some of it. If you have to make a new discord account, will you at least be able to get back into your old channels?
I don’t know.
At least a real person replied to my discord ticket 5 days ago, said they investigating further.
If possible, please support me via KoFi on my tumblr, anything helps to stay afloat
So the coffee cup was to contain the syrup.
My curiosity has been sated.
luckily that means it wasn’t hot. tho the stickiness is gonna need to be washed off immediately lol
That sounds like the sort of stuff that would be highly corrosive and really bad for skin to come in contact with, as well as so sticky that washing it off is going to be a challenge…
I mean, it’s meant to be water soluble, so washing should not be an issue.
I imagine Robin put it down before shoving Jason with both hands, or else we’d likely have seen some splatter.
I can see an Optimus Prime pun on the blackboard already.
Is Willis spending a quarter century plus making webcomics simply to recruit people to Transformers fandom, and is he being paid well for this? Because I didn’t care about them before yet I’m getting curious now.
No, no, it’s not a pun. It’s a reference.
“Not just a bad Optimus Prime comic.”
https://tfwiki.net/wiki/The_Transformers:_Autocracy
Ah. Good to know.
It must be working. Pretty much everything I know about Transformers, I learned through osmosis from reading Willis’s comics.
I have two sources. Willis is one and Jackie Wolenhaus (Between Failures, which I highly recommend) is the other.
Wolenhaus’ social media accounts are as full of Transformers as Willis’ is.
Wacky Professor Robin is really good at making the part of me that controls laughter forget that she used to be Amoral Congresswoman Robin.
I know that’s Jason’s leg in panel 4, but I also like the idea of Robin pushing him down with three of her four limbs.
Wait, she didn’t?
Nah, her pants are a darker color.
Pants, or possibly skirt.
Oh, I definitely thought she was throwing a kick in there for good measure.
Add me to the count too
The board says Autocracy is bad, but her actions say “All hail Robin”
“Do as I say, not as I do.”
That is probably literally one of the things she teaches them about politics.
Although, technically, the board says Autocracy the Optimus Prime comic book is bad. We can’t see what it says about the political system.
I didn’t catch that – that is funny though. Thank you for pointing that out.
I hope I m not the only one who imagined this music started playing when Robin announced the topic:
https://youtu.be/rk8X_kLYWQA?si=cd6yAWWBHcon7ghc
She offers very thorough demonstrations
Yeah, the students may be actually getting their money’s worth.
Honestly if I had teachers with that much passion, I’d probably be able to stay awake
I choose to believe Robin will eventually return to power a a Democrat.
i mean, if she wins by shoving her opponents off stage, we (voters) dont’ deserve better than that
And I will choose to interpret that as a shift in the Overton window rather than character development for Robin.
Please no, she is actually doing something good and productive instead of being a scammer
WhyNotBoth.gif
Oh, poor Jason.
Also, hmm. I mean, putting the Coca Cola syrup into coffee might… kinda-sorta work, unless she’s just using the cup, in which case, yikes.
I suspect it’s the latter.
This is Robin we’re talking about. She lives on a strict sugar-and-caffeine diet.
It does and better than I had expected.
Must be a typo but love the tag for “i”.
Codinome “i” is the bald person in the first panel
“i” is gone. Press F to pay respect.
As a terrible politician, she’s a great teacher.
Yeah, she’s teaching how the system ACTUALLY works vs how it’s SUPPOSED to work. And doing a pretty fair job of it!
i mean, i’m sure it’d be cathartic to imagine yourself pushing someone in ur class as a teacher , i don’t condone violence but there were def some bratty students that need a slap/their ass kicked

Have you looked behind the couch?
I just dislike Jason, it doesn’t matter to me if this is ironic punishment.
Robin works a lot by pratical examples eh ?
Which are also practical jokes.
… wouldn’t it be the centralization of authority to consolidate power?
They are very close, and this not a poli sci class and it IS a webcomic discussion

I suppose if Jason has to be back, him getting dunked on is the most palatable way to do it.
Alt text, that may be a fetch too far.
weebles wobble
but what do wombles do
Presumably, they weemble.
They go under ground, over ground, Wombling free.
grimbling and grambling?
Mostly recycle rubbish from Wimbledon.
They make good use of the things that they find (that which was discarded by the everyday folk)
Wasn’t there a whole comic where Robin called out Leslie for using people as props?
*archive dives*
…. okay, nevermind, it was less a “how dare you you hypocrite” speech and more of a “see, you’re doing what I do, we’re not that different” speech.
Jason’s not a people, he’s a TA.
guess barry will be picking up jasons slack(s)
I wonder if Walky will continue his pattern of microaggressions to Jason and Asma along with anyone else he sees as not entirely like him. Hell, he’s weirded out by even the mildly sincerely religious.
Lots of things have been weird since the time skip
Where does this come from?
Asma seems more like he just treats her like a piece of furniture. “mail office lady”, which isn’t great but doesn’t have anything to do with her being different or her religion.

Shhh shh shh shh, no logic here. No need for the meddlesome facts. Just let the hate flow.
And he was disturbed because that service was absolutely fucking terrifying.
People are terrified of hymns?
Will she send him to Gulag because he is a potential threat to her power?
I will not see Autocracy besmirched! Why, that’s the comic where… something happened, I guess?
Politicians shoving immigrants around as a demonstration of power, a tale as old as time.
every time Robin shows up, I get a little hope that that means we’ll see Leslie soon. And when Leslie shows up, I get a little hope that Robin is around the corner.
So Robin believes in teaching by demonstration huh?
Sometimes, the best examples, requires a hands on approach.
Hey! What about decentralized decision making?
The more I see Robin, the more I want to be in her Poli-sci class.
Robin hasn’t had any of her Coke syrup yet, has she?
We ain’t seen nothin’ yet.
It’s entirely possible that she chugged the entire thing off panel between Jason handing it to her and her shoving him.
Sometimes a second chance is a bad thing…or a third chance waiting to happen.
Let’s admit this. Robin as a politicians is bad, but as a professor is a genius. Everyone (expecially Jason) is learning so much from her!
Please, let me know what you’re specifically talking about, lol.
that’s certainly a demonstration
also happy fecking paddy’s day lads
He’s not just furniture! He’s a prop!
