At least Walky’s looking more comfortable about it now. Two strips ago, when he said “I missed you”, he had this whole “Oh shit, should I have said that? Do I MEAN it? Is this gonna be bad for Dorothy? I shouldn’t have said it.” look on his face. Especially on the panel where he was snarking about “Yep, it’s like we never broke up at all.” It looks like he has decided that Dorothy (and himself) would be happier being back together.
I just wonder how poor Lucy’s gonna take this once she finds out. :/

Honestly, I think Lucy will now be more entertained interacting with Sarah and Jacob, but it is important for Walky to make it clear that everything is over, and she may be exaggerating, but Lucy is capable of creating a drama where she is “the misunderstood one.”

I am team “Lucy and Walky are broken up for sure.” If it was just about Linda, maybe I could call it a fight. But after that, Lucy sees things clearly for the first time and realizes her feelings for Walky are one-sided. That combination of “I deserve better,” and “I’ll see you in class,” spell a breakup for me. I really struggle to intepret that any other way.
I mostly agree, but the part at the end doesn’t track with me. Jacob offered to tag along to breakfast, he didn’t ask her out. That kind of offer wouldn’t have prompted me to say “I have a boyfriend” or otherwise no matter what my situation was.
We’re still not quite at the high-water mark of homoeroticism established by Dorothy telling Joyce “get in loser, we’re going masturbating”. But this scene’ll get there if Dorothy brings up Joyce in the usual context of someone’s name being said during sex.
I dunno if this is the best idea. Walky’s still fresh from a break-up right now and rebounding into his ex feels too much like backsliding. And I’m afraid that Dorothy might only be looking for a new project now that Joyce seems to be less of a mess. Feels more like they’re settling into the familiar rather than have to actually deal with all these new problems they’re facing. Which is such an 18-year old thing to do.
