At least you have a chance to depants and romance, before circumstance makes Dorothy glance at some wiki rants. Now go do the Place-in-France Dance with your lance.
Stupid reboot. I wanted Saints Row V to be a time travel adventure with Jane Austen! They had frigging Jane Austen in the cast and they threw her away for a story about what 50 year olds think Gen Z is like!
I’m having fun with the reboot, and I was like “where could you possibly go?” but honestly I think you’re right that’s the direction to go. If Volition hadn’t been nuked we could theoretically have gotten a weird thing where we dimension hop in a sequel(?) to Saints Row Reboot AND Saints Row 4 with both crews joining forces into a Saints Row Empire. We play BOTH bosses, which we can design (or a co-op partner can play them or something) going back and forth between the two.
Also both The Bosses fall in love with each other because they would.
I’ve only seen maybe the first hour of that game, and I’m comfortable not seeing more. My life would be measurably better if I’d never heard someone say “mugmosa”.
I’m going with ‘ignored’. There’s two possible reasons, and like almost all these bifurcated motive speculations, one’s quite healthy and the other… not so much. The healthy one is, “Hey, he’s just come out of that relationship, a few verbal snafus are likely, and the best way to deal with it is to let time and reflection resolve it.” The unhealthy one is, “Oh, shit, he’s thinking about ~her~ again. I must strangle this impulse immediately!”
I think there’s at least a hint of one-upping the ex when she says “those people … much larger than that” — Lucy is in the lower fandom tier, and Dorothy is not — but I think overall it’s just that when someone corrects themselves, it’s almost always polite to just let it slide and move on.
Nah he’s just a teen boy with the rapid reload that entails. When I was that age my refractory period could be measured in seconds without getting into 3 digits. Now that I’m on Social Security? A good day is about an hour, a bad day is about a night/day.
Like, I get being broken up over Lucy I guess, but like… even when you aren’t wanting Dorothy you have chemistry with her. Please, if Lucy somehow ever becomes an option again, please for God’s sake learn to have chemistry with her when you’re sharing a panel. You don’t have to stay with Dorothy just because it makes us happy, I just cannot take you torpedo’ing every relationship you have because you’re lingering far too long on the door closed.
And if you and Dorothy are gonna stay together, please learn to communicate
Walky’s obviously got Lucy stuff bouncing around in his head still. To be expected, really.
Dorothy is… maybe in a good place mentally here? A better one, anyway. Like, this is a healthier thing to get this way about than other peoples’ problems, if nothing else. She also seems chipper.
Walky is definitely being more mature about his disagreements with Dorothy on fandom stuff than he has been at times in the past here, like there’s an even-handed approach from him on it, which, yeah, does make me think he has matured since then. Lucy is part of why, probably also Amber to a degree. Dorothy is someone he has most probably the strongest feelings about/for, but it makes him a more well-rounded person than he used to be to have experienced both his fandom, and his heart, from different perspectives compared to where he was like 5-ish months back.
And Walky almost mentioning that name, yes, it’s obviously going to be very complicated.
But as you mention, Walky has already shown some growth, there is still some progress to be made, and it may sound too optimistic on my part, but I hope this ship remains valid until the end.
I don’t think I’ll believe dorothy’s in a good place by redirecting the intensity towards stuff that “doesn’t matter” until something goes wrong with that and she’s actually able to be chill about it
If she’s not able to be chill about it, it’s the same issue in another direction
Also don’t forget Walky and Dorothy shared a deeply traumatic experience less than 4 months ago, they’re still having to process that. I mean it was several years ago for us, barely 4 months ago in-comic. They were kidnapped, saw a man get murdered, saw severe violence done to one of their friends, heard about the man that kidnapped them getting murdered, and that was just Walky and Dorothy. Becky and Dina had all that and more. In a just world they would be getting much therapy, and maybe some meds for all of that.
Jeez. Walky is still obviously thinking of Lucy, despite the obvious implication that they are no longer “together”. However, Dorothy is pressing all of the buttons that turn him on. I do not believe for a second that Dotty is doing this on purpose but I think it shows how well they actually work together because she sees “casual time” much the same that he does. As much as I like Lucy as a character, I really REALLY hope she does not become a “source of drama”.
I know asking Willis to let Dorothy and Walky be happy and to be a permanent couple is like asking Satan for ice cream, but I get genuine joy from seeing them be together. I don’t have much that brings me genuine joy these days, so I’m going to hope nothing bad happens to make them break up again.
Speaking of Charlie, when do we get to see the strip of Charlie/Carla, post-coitus?
Everyone else seems to be having bountiful boinkery. As long as we’re rooting for the Joe/Joyce combo, I’m casting a vote for C&C.
I almost said “sex-repulsed”–since her reactions in DoA so far have been along the lines of pre-sojourn Hannelore’s reactions (“Bodily fluids, ick, nope, get it AWAY from me)–but hedging my rhetorical bet instead oopsied. My B.
That’s true, but I think Shortpacked’s different level of realism and the fact that Carla could literally not even be in the same room as Malaya were a large part of that.
Maybe Carla rigs up some drones with the arms from the QC space station.
Actually really like this. Dorothy is staying relaxed while true to herself, and Walky, for all his fantasizing, seems to be realizing where his reaction came from and why it’s maybe not the emotion in which to dwell. I think he’ll reconcile this, probably with help from, my guess, Amber, maybe Sal, long shot Booster, and keep his slow and steady personal growth going.
I am a fairly germaphobic person. What exactly is everyones obsession with “feet” and “socks on feet”? it feels weird when people draw attention to it.
I absolutely do not get foot fetishes, but naked-except-for-socks/footwear always feels more naked than full-tilt naked. Also some people (I guess I count?) are for knee-/thigh-high socks during sex (I’m not against them).
I’m mostly just making a joke, since she also kept her glasses on.
It’s really funny to me that you put “feet” in quotation marks. As if you don’t believe they exist but you’ve heard persistent rumors. People keep talking about these “feet” things, but are they actually real? You’re confused, but not quite curious to know. Not yet. Not now. The time isn’t right.
Some of us get cold feet and uncomfortable during sex without socks. I don’t know what the thermostats are set at in Reed during the winter, but I’m willing to be that it’s not at “lounge around naked” temperature.
I feel like, intentional or not, Dorothy is already creating a conflict to bond over. The continuity of most IP’s changes SIGNIFICANTLY between “written” and “presented” stories and that is not unheard of. As a relevant example, when people started delving into the cannon motivations for Batman, it led to the common deconstruction of the “vigilante” trope. That is NOT what we are dealing with, despite Amazigirls presence. Going back to Dotty and Walky, She is considering developements for the Wiki that are not sourced and only have HER reactions to build off of. Any Wiki creator worth their salt would not consider any of this applicable to consistent knowledge of the character.
Weird compliment maybe, but the fan service has been done really well recently. Sexy, but not disruptive to the story or forced by people acting out of character. Increasingly gender neutral. Avoids feeling skeezy? It’s tasteful is what I mean.
Ew. Almost freudian slipping Lucy’s name to back up your argument and then not just following through with it. I almost want to feel bad for Walky, but the whole pining for Lucy thing loses a lot of sympathy from me when he just banged Dorothy.
I think so because it’s not just this moment but the looks he had before this, and thinking it was Lucy visiting him in the first place. If he was just remembering she exists and it was a completely innocent thought he would’ve said her name. Invoking Lucy isn’t taboo. Dorothy was talking about bringing another woman into the bedroom to watch even if in a joking manner. I doubt mentioning his ex would upset her but it clearly still upsets Walky. My problem isn’t even all that it’s that Lucy is still living rent free in his head and if that’s an issue for him why is he with Dorothy right now? I don’t wanna see this wishywashy nature of his lead to more trouble for him but it will….or maybe he’ll get a harem. Someone on the main cast should represent ethical polyamory probably.
thank you. like my god he’s just remembering that he knows at least one person who holds an opinion and that person happens to be his ex gf. It’s not some referendum on Walky/Dorothy.
I have a sincere question then. How are we supposed to read this with the context of the other scenes that just happened? His weird look when he said he missed Dorothy post sex. The guilty look when Dorothy said her mistakes don’t matter. Do we just take every moment as if it exists in a vacuum? Cause it seems like this is building to Walky likely screwing up somehow by not comprehending his feelings until it’s too late.
I’m just looking for some clarity here. Cause I feel like the story at least is implying this is more than just recalling Lucy exists.
I wanna clarify I’m not trying to spark conflict here either. Tone is hard to convey in text. I just want more understanding on this because it’s a bit confusing.
This is a little back-loaded, isn’t it? You’re assuming he’s looking specifically guilty in that moment, and maybe also that her “mistakes don’t matter” comment applies to anything other than her little wiki project.
Far as Lucy goes, it’s been like one day, maybe two, since she said “Fuck you, I deserve better” (paraphrased), so it would be really strange if he didn’t feel any way at all about her.
Maybe it’s a bit of a misinterpretation on my end which is why I’m asking for clarity on other interpretations on it. To me it’s seems like Walky is taking more from Dorothy’s words than she intends. I also think it’s too soon after Lucy for him to completely forget about her but he’s the who jumped so quickly back to Dorothy. I just don’t get why he would if he still misses Lucy and feels guilty about it after.
I’m not sure what to take away from this honestly it just feels kind of gross from Walky and I can’t articulate why. Walky not speaking up is what got him in trouble with Lucy to begin with and I feel like he just made the same mistake again. But I could be wrong.
… Remembering a fact about something they presumably talked a lot about, since they share that interest, isn’t pining… Is this not just normal after a break-up? You have all this information about a person that you kind of don’t know what to do with now?
They seem to have agreed that they are back ‘on’, actually, so Dotty is no longer an ‘ex’, she’s a… I dunno, a comeback? A reprisal? An encore? Someone help an old fogey out, here.
Let Willis cook here. I want to see where this going to end up.
Looks like Wally still hasn’t completely forgotten about Lucy and Dorothy in irresponsible mode can’t last forever.
This, of course, is the lead in to Head Alien making his intro into this world from the greater Walkyverse. Care to take bets on how well Walky can corral the forces of good to save this plane of existence from the Dark Head Alien?
Talk data to me
Like, speaking without contractions?
Mmm, yeah, talk about your full functionality to me.
Best line from a goofy episode.
Thumbs up emoji.

This requires applause and up-voting.
The Internet has fulfilled its purpose.
Somehow so totally upvoted.
self-insert via Transformers Wiki? Nice XD
In the post-Zinyak world, Willis will be given ownership of the Transformers IP by the Boss.
So the Saints Row leader says.
Man, I miss that continuity.
Stupid reboot. I wanted Saints Row V to be a time travel adventure with Jane Austen! They had frigging Jane Austen in the cast and they threw her away for a story about what 50 year olds think Gen Z is like!
It wasn’t even the first screw up. They managed to screw up an R-rated adaptation of GI Joe too!

Right? I was so ready for time-traveling shenanigans! Instead we got… that.
I’ve only seen maybe the first hour of that game, and I’m comfortable not seeing more. My life would be measurably better if I’d never heard someone say “mugmosa”.
Is Dexter and Monkey Master now Ninja Turtles?
Or is that a sign of how old I am?
One or the other.

seemed like Teen Titans to me
specifically bc https://www.shortpacked.com/comic/math
So do y’all think Dorothy missed the cut off use of Lucy or that she ignored it?
I’m going with ‘ignored’. There’s two possible reasons, and like almost all these bifurcated motive speculations, one’s quite healthy and the other… not so much. The healthy one is, “Hey, he’s just come out of that relationship, a few verbal snafus are likely, and the best way to deal with it is to let time and reflection resolve it.” The unhealthy one is, “Oh, shit, he’s thinking about ~her~ again. I must strangle this impulse immediately!”
Which one is it? Y’got me.
I think there’s at least a hint of one-upping the ex when she says “those people … much larger than that” — Lucy is in the lower fandom tier, and Dorothy is not — but I think overall it’s just that when someone corrects themselves, it’s almost always polite to just let it slide and move on.
I too am like Walky where I think with my penis right after almost having a breakthrough.
Reprising your favorite cartoon. So hot right now.
We’re about due for another round of “old cartoon except all the characters are kid versions of themselves” cartoons, aren’t we?
Ooh, Avata–oh yeah.
We already got total dramarama….
Seriously who’s watching that? Who’s it for?
That’s not the only thing he’s about to do prematurely
Hey, if he’s firing off that quickly after two (or even three) rounds, he might want to consult a physician….
Nah he’s just a teen boy with the rapid reload that entails. When I was that age my refractory period could be measured in seconds without getting into 3 digits. Now that I’m on Social Security? A good day is about an hour, a bad day is about a night/day.
Look clearly the right answer is a group relationship with dorothy, amber and joyce in the corner.
Remember: Joyce is watching.
Always watching.
But only the Dorothy half.
If there’s gonna be a threesome, how’s Joyce gonna manage that? Block with one hand? Block two hands?
Constant and determined eye contact with Dorothy.
Walky please pick a lane lol.
Like, I get being broken up over Lucy I guess, but like… even when you aren’t wanting Dorothy you have chemistry with her. And if you and Dorothy are gonna stay together, please learn to communicate
I agree, and yes, Walky still has a lot to learn and to be honest, I really want this ship to reach the end.
It’s a big risk, well, this comic has a lot of risks, so fingers crossed.
And honestly, Lucy is going to have more fun annoying Sarah than Jacob.
I think it’s more she’s been his best friend for 3 months. And most of it no romantic to him
Yes, just habit.
I figured it’s just good-ol’ American post-sexual guilt, reaching for an object. As if he owed her one, ya know?
That’s why you only put pants on when you can’t avoid going outside.
I am having all kinds of feelings about this.

Seconded! They are both so happy.
Seasons?? We’ll be here a while. Place your bets…?
I have now realized Dorothy’s hair is like a maple leaf. Majestic with all its tips. Maybe we’ve reached its spiky peak by wearing that hoodie.
If this head alien stuff is leading up to someone pulling the magical realism tag, I don’t know how I will feel.
Booster and Charlie are revealed to be imperfect clones of Mike. Jennifer has abducted and replaced Billie.
Jennifer is Mike.
Speaking of Charlie, when do we get to see the strip of Charlie/Carla, post-coitus?
Everyone else seems to be having bountiful boinkery. As long as we’re rooting for the Joe/Joyce combo, I’m casting a vote for C&C.
Carla is homoromantic and quite asexual.
Some asexual people do have sex, but yeah I think on “camera” sex scenes for Carla are very unlikely.
I almost said “sex-repulsed”–since her reactions in DoA so far have been along the lines of pre-sojourn Hannelore’s reactions (“Bodily fluids, ick, nope, get it AWAY from me)–but hedging my rhetorical bet instead oopsied. My B.
Ultra Car wasn’t quite the same character, but while she wasn’t into sex for herself, she wasn’t necessarily opposed to lending a girl a hand.
That’s true, but I think Shortpacked’s different level of realism and the fact that Carla could literally not even be in the same room as Malaya were a large part of that.

So Dorothy’s been wearing her socks this entire time?
I knew she was one kinky fuck.

Rob Liefeld located.
Some of us get cold feet and uncomfortable during sex without socks. I don’t know what the thermostats are set at in Reed during the winter, but I’m willing to be that it’s not at “lounge around naked” temperature.
There was a study suggesting women had an easier time climaxing when wearing socks, but the effect didn’t work on men. Fun facts.
Is this a cold feet being distracting thing? With men generally feeling slightly warmer?
Would be for me. Freezing feet are very distracting during sex
It’s a lot easier to get a grip on the sheets with bare toes than it is with socks, and this matters when you’re thrusting. +shrug+
I feel like, intentional or not, Dorothy is already creating a conflict to bond over. So naked time’s over?
Ew. Almost freudian slipping Lucy’s name to back up your argument and then not just following through with it. I almost want to feel bad for Walky, but the whole pining for Lucy thing loses a lot of sympathy from me when he just banged Dorothy.
You think he’s pining?
Not sure “harems” are representative of ethical polyamory, but I would love to see some polyam rep on the main cast for sure!
Remembering she exists isn’t pining.
thank you. like my god he’s just remembering that he knows at least one person who holds an opinion and that person happens to be his ex gf.
I took Walky’s reaction to Dorothy’s remark to be the thought that if having sex with him was a mistake… it didn’t matter…
… Remembering a fact about something they presumably talked a lot about, since they share that interest, isn’t pining… Is this not just normal after a break-up? You have all this information about a person that you kind of don’t know what to do with now?
‘E’s not pinin’; ‘e’s passed on!
Premature repantulation.
“Lucy prefers Dexter”
“You know, Lucy doesn’t live on a little place I like to call Earth.”
“…nor will she ever be this cute with Bed Head.”
Always hesitate to repants. Measure once; cut twice.
…No, wait…
I’ve trimmed these pants twice and they’re -still- too short.
Wait, do the kids use their phones in landscape mode now? Am I that out of touch?

Dorothy’s quite the seductress.
Ah, so THAT’S why he was pausing the other day – he realized his ex and current(?) girlfriends were about to engage in a bloody Edit War.
his ex and his other ex, who he is also now fucking
They seem to have agreed that they are back ‘on’, actually, so Dotty is no longer an ‘ex’, she’s a… I dunno, a comeback? A reprisal? An encore? Someone help an old fogey out, here.
A Cleveland
Let Willis cook here. I want to see where this going to end up.
Looks like Wally still hasn’t completely forgotten about Lucy and Dorothy in irresponsible mode can’t last forever.
It’s been five goddamn seconds, of course he hasn’t forgotten Lucy exists.
This, of course, is the lead in to Head Alien making his intro into this world from the greater Walkyverse. Care to take bets on how well Walky can corral the forces of good to save this plane of existence from the Dark Head Alien?
Someone’s about to get some crazy head (alien)
Dorothy: Wanna sit in bed and watch cartoons all day?
Walky: *GASP* Foul temptress!
gaaasp
I’m an admin for Rainverse Wiki (another webcomic shared universe) and we just had a discussion about characters with alternate names.
Magic hoodie…
Just remembered, “Lucy, like most fans, knows the character from the cartoon” for Starfire in shortpacked. Which makes Dorothy…

“I have repantsed prematurely.”
It’s ok, Walky, it happens to a lot of guys.
Or so I’ve heard
