it’s just the pillar looking things, so maybe a modern art statue. I thought it was showing some kind of off-kilter sensation Asher was having, but he saw the AG suit earlier this morning, seeing her isn’t completely out of the blue.
I get the vibe that Willis was not feeling great by some metric when this was drawn. (I say this out of artist’s sympathy, not criticism.) The panel pacing’s fucking great but some of the details seem very “please god just let me be done so I can sleep”.

Willis Probably doesn’t do that his buffer is months long, so its probably more of a “eh good enough” rather than “I’m sick and still drawing comics.”

Based off the fact that they’re not wearing helmets and Asher’s distracted, I’m a bit concerned.
I think those two have enough plot armor to survive an accident (though perhaps not without injury). However, those nondistinct shadow people in the background better hope they don’t get run over.

…Although, homemade donuts that you make by dropping dough rings in a vat of boiling oil is EVEN BETTER. I can remember making them one winter in an old Pennsylvania farmhouse. I assume they must have been hand-molded rolled dough rings, but somehow in my childhood memory I remember them as having been made simply by dripping and pouring batter into the oil, in a ring shape, which solidified instantly as the oil bubbled and sizzled and snapped and popped all around it.

What you are describing is called funnel cake
Oh, yes! I must have gotten those two memories mixed up. The donuts were made by dropping hand-rolled dough rings into the oil, and the memory of dripping batter must have been from making funnel cake another time. Thank you for helping me sort those memories out!

I like those sorta cakey blueberry ones with the thin glaze. Can’t eat more than one, but they’re great with some coffee.

That is like asking me who my favorite child is. If I had children … and was a very hungry mother gribble.
I love the blueberry cake ones and the crullers the best I think. However, while I don’t really like filled donuts, you will notice that the rest look like rings. This is because anytime somebody opens of box of them I have the same reaction to them that Bilbo does to the One in Rivendell.

My favorite is either a good maple bar or what my dad calls a Bismark but nearly everyone else in the world calls a Boston cream.
Mmm, the local supermarket makes Bismarks with raspberry filling. Nearly irresistable.

Krispy Kreme Boston creme or raspberry filled are my favorites, but I’m all about trying new flavors. Just no fucking cake. They’re like a moisture vacuum for your mouth, the flavor is awful and the texture is worse.

Chocolate glazed stick (a chocolate cake donut in the shape of a log). I don’t know why I like them better than the circular ones. I think maybe because they get better coverage with the glaze in log shape, so they don’t dry out as easily. I could only really ever find them at Dunkin’ Donuts, and don’t live in that area anymore. Appears to be that they might not offer them anymore either, which is too bad. Most of the donuts in the grocery stores and bakeries in my current area are yeast donuts (like Crispy Creme), apple fritter like ones, or plain old fashioned ones. They don’t tend to have chocolate cake too often, unfortunately.
While growing up, my local grocery store (a Hannaford), used to do really good glazed chocolate donut holes. They would perfectly coat the donut hole fully with glaze, so it wouldn’t dry out for days. Later on they got really lazy with the glazing, and the donut holes would have a lot of spots without glaze (sometimes up to half or more of the donut hole). It seemed like those donut holes would dry out in hours. They never did get better after that. Hannaford also used to have some really good store brand plain old fashioned donuts in a box over by the bread (rather than the bakery). Not sure if they are still selling them or how good they are anymore, since I have heard that the owners have changed, but you might try them out if you are in an area that has that grocery store.
I also have thoughts about places that don’t put either glaze or powdered sugar on their cake donuts when the location is in an arid environment. They dry out way too fast and turn hard. Some of the grocery stores around here just put the sprinkles on a donut hole without and glaze, and the donut hole just turns hard in less than a day and the sprinkles don’t stick to it. It isn’t as much of a problem in humid environments, as it is hard for anything to dry out if the dewpoint is above 60F (15.6C). In a desert environment, you want both the glaze (so it doesn’t dry out) and a fridge (so it doesn’t melt), or you just go and buy them as soon as they make them and eat it asap.
Plain glazed are the best.
Ooh! I forgot about the powdered, icing-filled ones. They’re practically unobtainium these days, but back when I was a kid our local Dunkin still made theirs in-house. One of those was a birthday tradition until they stopped carrying them.

Best donuts anywhere: Emily’s Donuts in Williamsburg Va.
Chocolate cake. All chocolate-y goodness, dense, slightly crunchy on the outer glaze part. Goes great with hot coffee or tea in the morning.
Glazed sour cream cake.
My favorite? Easy: Plain Cream-filled. No topping. Only kind I really bother with.
Honorable mention goes to the same thing, but made with potato. Man, I miss Spudnuts.
More importantly, what is your LEAST favorite type of donut? I don’t like powdered sugar donuts, the powdered sugar goes EVERYWHERE when you bite it, it even gets INHALED, which is very unpleasant.
There’s a bakery in Boston called “Bova’s” (bova deez nuts yes) that makes the best Boston Cream Donut I’ve ever had. It’s a ring donut with a cakey consistency, with a chocolate icing on top, and then the donut is cut in half with a ton of cream sandwiched between the two pieces for the filling. It’s so good.

The author having ridden a motorcycle has no inherent bearing on how the reckless teenagers in the story ride one.

Why? She finds Amazi-Girl hot, sure, but does she have a sitting-on-a-roof-eating-donuts fetish I don’t know about? Everything else about this scene involves guys.

This storyline made me think “man maybe he feels bad for trying to help a guy kill his own kid” and not that he has to try and bump her off or something even though she has no idea he had any part in this

Pretty sure Blaine lied and said no one would get hurt. So. Yeah. I can see why Asher’d feel bad about how bad things actually went and how crazy dangerous it got.
Huh, I don’t get any of this strip, or the mouse-over either.
So, Asher and Ethan are out on a bike ride. Asher happens to spot Amazi-Girl, whose costume he already saw in her bedroom, eating on a rooftop. His face is a little hard to read, but he may be simply putting two and two together. In the last panel, he seems to be speeding up slightly, and definitely seems to recognize her.
The title (and hovertext) are a reference to a common road trip game called I Spy, in which participants look at something and give a hint using the phrase “I spy, with my little eye*, something [simple descriptor of the object]”, which the other participants will then look for and guess what it could be. Asher has spied something that begins with A, by the conventions of the game.
*There are some regional variations on the phrase, but that’s what we say in Little Egypt.
It’s basically setting up “this season’s BBEG” storyline where Asher’s mob family members (and maybe Asher too) are gonna come back to the school for problems or maybe a catharsis storyline to help Amber heal from her major psychological issues.
Why is it that for a moment I saw, in panels 2 and 4, a huge-headed Asher in red pullover.
