I wish he’d get more character development. I’d like the next Mario and Luigi game to have them go up against Wario and Waluigi. Wario unearthed some ancient evil trying to get treasure and I dunno Waluigi seems pretty vain, maybe he’s trying to be a pop idol or something?
Waluigi is the main villain in the story mode of “Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix”. He steals the MacGuffins and gives them to his minions, which include Wario.
In a nutshell, Wario is greedy and egocentric, but Waluigi is actually sinister (though extremely unlucky). They just get paired together a lot because they share a lot of the same goals (i.e. down with Mario and Luigi).
Waitaminit, don’t DS:es have this feature when they can feel each others’ presense and actually react to one another’s games when two owners walk by? If Amazi-Girl carries it with her, it could at any time tell someone else’s DS “Hey, [Amazi-girl’s secret identity] is nearby, do you want to challange her?”
That’s because Amber is Amazi-Girl’s butler hense it would make sense that DinaImean Amazi-Girl would “borrow” her DS while she is doing something else MMO related
She upgraded to a 3DS in between. It wasn’t out yet when we saw Amber’s blue DS, but she would have wanted one ASAP so she could play Mario Kart 7 (which is the game they’re playing now) and Super Mario 3D Land.
From a technical point of view, the 3DS’s know who someone is even if they change their name. It happens when people goof around with the 3DS kiosk at BestBuy and Gamestop. But only if you have no friends would you really pay attention to this.
I want to find this sweet, I really do, but this relies so much on Danny being completely and totally blind.
The smartest thing for Amber to do would be to simply tell Danny who she is. She has no nemeses and no real danger to keep her from doing it, and Danny’s a loyal guy, he won’t tell anyone.
you know… you raise a good point. In comics, they keep their identities secret to protect their loved ones. But there isn’t really a need for Amber to hide (at least from her loved ones) who she is. It’s not even like she’s really commiting crimes and hasn’t really risen in popularity enough to even be accused of crimes she did not commit.
He did, and it was awesome, and then they retconned it.
I really liked how cool his parents were with it. Sure, they have there moments where they freak out about him putting himself at risk, but by and large they’re proud of him for what he’s doing.
MOREOVER, they get to kick some ass. Not unrealistic amounts, but enough to be believably awesome. No matter how good Superman comics get you will never see Lois, Jimmy and Perry kicking mooks ass while Supes handles the big stuff.
But that happens ALL THE TIME in Wonder Woman comics.
In the original Marston ones, Etta and her posse and Steve, all normal people, all kick tons of Nazi ass while WW kicks gods’ asses.
Many things are illegal in Indiana. And many people still do them.
I believe vigilante justice in Indiana is more often than not a drunk man with a shotgun, though. They’d probably view this as a proper authority figure. She’s got a cape and everything and you wouldn’t say no to Superman, would you?
This is not about touch screens. Those fiddly little controls are hard enough to use with bare hands. Slip on a pair gloves, and your fine motor control drops by at least a third.
This answers a question I have had for a long time. When Batman is hunched over on a rooftop looking down does he ever get bored?
Now I know that inbetween brooding he whips out his DS which he has on in.
But not in his gloves.
You guys have pretty much summed up my theory on why Danny seems to be so dumb. Maybe I’m giving him too much credit, but he was still smart enough to get into college, so he can’t be a complete dumbass.
Heh, changing the name wouldn’t do much. You just gotta hope one of them has streetpass turned off or else Danny will wonder where Amber’s Mii went in his streetpass plaza.
Much of this comic is about how freshmen need to adjust to the fact that college is fundamentally different from high school, and they likewise need to adjust.
Billie has to adjust to the fact that she’s no longer the top of the social strata just because she’s a cheerleader and can mock nerds.
Walky has to adjust to the fact that acting like a six-year-old weirds even more people out now – and instead of just making him a bully target, it estranges him from other human beings.
Danny has to adjust to the fact that his old relationship is over, and he needs to take some initiative in his life now that he’s in college, where students are expected to take more personal responsibility for themselves.
Amber has to adjust to a lot of things. one of them is the fact that she needs to develop some personal connections, and not just say that “the birds are really angry today.” But she may also jave to adjust to the fact that playing Superhero just doesn’t always work so well in the real world.
Ahhh, Amber’s DS is blue and Amazi-Girl’s is red. This can only mean one thing… Amazi-Girl actually owns her own DS and lied about it being her butler’s (Amber)!
Apropos of completely nothing that’s been stated so far, did anyone else think of Cybermen when they saw the title of the comic?
I’m looking @ u, Doctor_Who
I love when the Amazi-Girl header comes up on an Amazi-Girl comic.
(btw, I really like the rotating headers, and I hope you keep adding in new ones of recent scenes, and keep the older ones in rotation – but it’s good to have a lot because it either
– if it’s different characters from the ones in the current scene, reminds new readers that there’s a bunch of different characters without cluttering it up with every character in the comic (except that one header, which is also great), or
– if it’s the same characters in the current scene, makes you feel like they’re really important, at least at this moment. It’s a cool effect.)
Since a lot of people seem to be confused: Yes, Amber’s DS was blue when we saw it previously, but this is not an error and is unlikely to be a plot point.
We saw Amber’s blue DS in January of 2011. In the sixteen months that have passed since then, Nintendo released the DS’s successor, the Nintendo 3DS. That is the system Amazi-Girl is using now, easily identifiable by the two black dots near the top. Amber would of course want to play games like Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 (which they’re playing right now), so she’d definitely want to upgrade.
Well if it wasn’t then it would still work fine. So ha! Your details are coincidentally able to stand up under misinterpretations of previous details! Take that!
The problem is that they shouldn’t take breaks in their costume.
They use their costumes in order for people not to recognize them. If they get friends WHILE using the costumes, those friends are easy targets to their enemies.
Eh, I’m slightly bothered that all the characters are 21st century-zed. A lot more geekery and gadget love than their previous incarnations. Was that a conscious goal for these new versions?
John Redcorn was pretty much the only contemporary Native representation I had in comedy growing up. Probably the funniest Native character in cartoon history and a lot of that was on Jonathan Joss' pitch perfect rezzy uncle performance. RIP to one of the best to ever do it.
today in #9chickweedlane i learned that, yes, lolly is so edda 2.0 that she's even wearing her mother's wedding dress as she gets married to Her Dad (But Taller)

and the actual truth, which is yes you did, fuck you
Raw milk has the opportunity to do the funniest thing
Ferric Fang@fangferric.bsky.social ⋅ 3d
RFK Jr celebrated the release of the MAHA report by downing raw milk shooters in the White House with influencer Paul Saladino. Hazards of raw milk include Listeria, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Yersinia, E. coli O157:H7, and now-- avian flu.
"ESPECIALLY willa!"
"dad, has it come to mind yet that if i was correct, actually, about belle being cuckoo for murderpuffs, that she was in fact trying to kill me, your human daughter, all this time"
"sorry, still only really care about the fish"
Well played.
I see what you did there….
So which character is Danny using?
Danny looks like a Luigi to me.
Danny is clearly a Shy Guy.
(wait, are Shyguys available?)
It’s an unlockable character and Danny looks like he’d have spent the time to unlock it, XD.
Don’t insult Luigi like that. Danny’s a Waluigi at best.
I don’t know anyone heinous enough to be waluigi. Faz is too good to be Waluigi.
Walugi is awesome, I don’t get the hate
I like Waluigi simply because he’s fun to draw. He’s evil-looking and gangly!
I’m prefer using Peach or Rosalina myself.
Too bad. Waluigi time!
Here’s a color comic.
PURPLE IS A COLOR
Love the reference!
Dude Brawl in the family made me love Waluigi.
Next comic: 7 minutes of sweating and moaning
…they play a wrestling game?

Utility belt? More like belt for portables XD
wrist-things for portables DAMNIT
Waitaminit, don’t DS:es have this feature when they can feel each others’ presense and actually react to one another’s games when two owners walk by? If Amazi-Girl carries it with her, it could at any time tell someone else’s DS “Hey, [Amazi-girl’s secret identity] is nearby, do you want to challange her?”
If they’re on
I don’t think she keeps it on all the time though
It’s a very easily disabled feature.
Meanwhile across town, many murders occurred.
<3
Wonder Wig and Ridureyu are now my OTP
Most of the victims are heroes or retired heroes.
And cops three days from retirement.
And uncles waiting for their nephew to come out of the bookstore
And parents who are leaving a show early because their son got frightened.
If they were superheroes, they will probably be back from the dead in a week or two.
Minions .. the poor things … minions every one of them.
W-why would her butler have a DS with the name Amazi-girl?
” Here’s you DS, madam. I also make sure it has your name in it.”
I also remember Amber having a blue DS, so, maybe it really is her butler’s DS.
Rechecking the comics I think that blue thing was her phone. It looks different from the 3DS here at least.
It’s just a phone, dude.
i’m more obsessed with learning the butler’s name. i bet it’s something very butler-y, like woolworthington.
Or Jeeves. They’re often named Jeeves, just like mad scientists have an Igor for an assistant.
It’s Jeevesfred.
But he is not mad …. just very very angry …. also the name is pronounced eye-gore …. (>”.”)>
Meanwhile, twelve violent crimes are committed around campus. Two of the victims gasp out “Help me…Ama…zi…girl…” with their last breath.
Does this mean that Amber needs to change her username everytime she is in Amazi-Girl mode?
and change it back whenever she’s in Amber mode.
Possibly. BTW, who is it this time, Plas?
Ranmaru Kirino from Inazuma Eleven GO, a show about magical soccer.
That looks different than the last time you use a Ranmaru gravatar.
I couldn’t find the other one so I made up a new one.
Bet this leads to a joke later on where Danny borrows Amber’s DS and sees the name Amazi-girl on it.
“But this could only mean…Amber is secretly Amazi-girl’s butler!”
If he’s willfully blind.
I only fear that either Sal or Billy found them.
you know… you raise a good point. In comics, they keep their identities secret to protect their loved ones. But there isn’t really a need for Amber to hide (at least from her loved ones) who she is. It’s not even like she’s really commiting crimes and hasn’t really risen in popularity enough to even be accused of crimes she did not commit.
Well except Jamie Reyes who told his family about him being the Blue Beetle or so I heard. It’s hard to find Western comics where I’m from.
Really? I’ve gotta find me some classic Wonder Woman.
She might be keeping her ID a secret cos vigilante justice is still illegal, even in Indiana.
Many things are illegal in Indiana. And many people still do them.
I believe vigilante justice in Indiana is more often than not a drunk man with a shotgun, though. They’d probably view this as a proper authority figure. She’s got a cape and everything and you wouldn’t say no to Superman, would you?
I would be a lot harder to say NO to a superheroine with a chest window.
Danny may be a loyal guy, but he’s also an idiot who doesn’t know what not to say or when to keep his mouth closed.
And what if the “relationship” goes south? No good can come of telling Danny . . . anything.
Seconded
Can’t you guys be happy for him for once?
What is the fun in that?
First world Solution Buy a second DS?
Super Hero problems DS’s warranty does cover damage caused by life saving effort.
BUY THE NERF CASE!
Amazi-Girl is playing with her gloves on. That’s why she’s Amazi-Girl and you aren’t.
you don’t need the touch screen for mario kart, do you?
This is not about touch screens. Those fiddly little controls are hard enough to use with bare hands. Slip on a pair gloves, and your fine motor control drops by at least a third.
Maybe they’re dishwashing gloves.
Don’t forget this guy.

This answers a question I have had for a long time. When Batman is hunched over on a rooftop looking down does he ever get bored?
Now I know that inbetween brooding he whips out his DS which he has on in.
But not in his gloves.
You mean the Bat-3DS that he bought with his Bat-credit card?
On which he plays Bat-LEGO Batman?
A BAT CREEEEEDIT CAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRDDDDDD!!!!!!
NO! NO! NO! NO NO NO NO NO *gets dragged off-screen*
He plays a Super Nintendo that he portablized himself. Why? Because…
He’s Batman. B)
Also, I hear that Batman Returns was really good. Mental training?
Nah, he just plays Batjeweled on the heads-up display in his cowl.
either danny is screwing with her or he’s really, reeeally dense.
My guess, Danny knows but plays along just to give the illusion that he is dense.
Or he figures anyone who’d pull the Superman routine might be actively seeking a Lois.
You guys have pretty much summed up my theory on why Danny seems to be so dumb. Maybe I’m giving him too much credit, but he was still smart enough to get into college, so he can’t be a complete dumbass.
That’s a 3DS, it has 2 camaras on top.
Yes. Yes it is.
That, and Wiggler isn’t a playable character in the regular DS Mario Kart, only the 3DS one.
Heh, changing the name wouldn’t do much. You just gotta hope one of them has streetpass turned off or else Danny will wonder where Amber’s Mii went in his streetpass plaza.
God I am such a nerd.
I don’t care how dense anyone says Danny is he’s hanging out with the girl he’s crushing on and she likes him so he’s obviously doing something right.
That last panel would have made me hit maximum happiness if three Community Thursday hadn’t already done it.
Then we must go…BEYOND MAXIMUM… *cue the cool theme music as we slap on some sunglasses*
Three Community Thursday? What is this thing?
Ah, now I see. Damn, that was good.
A thought…
Much of this comic is about how freshmen need to adjust to the fact that college is fundamentally different from high school, and they likewise need to adjust.

I think that’s the cutest thing in this comic thus far, even if the romance goes nowhere.
Aww, ain’t that cute. So when does David drop the shoe on them?
Wouldn’t she only have to press delete 3 times, since it’s the same first two letters?
Yeah, I’m THAT guy.
If you were really that guy, you’d know what Amazi-Girl’s secret identity’s usual screen name is!
AmaziAmber, perhaps?
It’s not something you have to guess. You could readily find out. Perhaps through this very website. Or even another, if you trawled enough archives.
Is it PositivAmb?
Am I THAT guy now?
Ho damn. I stand corrected.
“Can you read my mind?”
“No, but I can red-shell you in the face.”
BEST – STRIP – EVER !!!!
Someone is going to find Amber’s DS see she is “Amazing-girl”.
I thought amber’s ds was blue… maybe I am alucinating already…
Her DS was blue.
Her 3DS, however, is red.
after lots of consensous…I believe her phone is blue and her ds is red/pink
If Dina was trying to be a discreet Amazi-Girl then maybe she could pick a more private place to play with her friend then the college commons
But it has to be dina!
Amazigirl is clearly using yoshi.
naw…she’s usin’ wiggler.
Ahhh, Amber’s DS is blue and Amazi-Girl’s is red. This can only mean one thing… Amazi-Girl actually owns her own DS and lied about it being her butler’s (Amber)!
amber is not amazi-girl’s butler. amazi-girl’s butler is named amazibutler.
The 3DS wasn’t out yet when we saw Amber’s blue DS. She upgraded.
For us. For them it’s been a week.
There’s a sliding timeline here. Willis has already covered this.
The blue thing was just her phone, no need to overanalyze so much my fellow nerds
I adore that last panel, it’s so book starts book end/starts again type…
Sakujo! Sakujo! SAKUJO!

I’m ashamed to say I thought of Teru Mikami before Doctor Who.
(Turns in sonic screwdriver)
Seppuku incoming in 3… 2…
I love when the Amazi-Girl header comes up on an Amazi-Girl comic.

Hopefully it will be a slow crime fighting night.
It’s cute, Mike should be arriving to ruin the moment in a matter of seconds.
learning a superheros secret identity by street passing them with 3DS would be halarious
Since a lot of people seem to be confused: Yes, Amber’s DS was blue when we saw it previously, but this is not an error and is unlikely to be a plot point.

This is now the second time on this page I have told you that is her phone.
Well if it wasn’t then it would still work fine. So ha! Your details are coincidentally able to stand up under misinterpretations of previous details! Take that!
Now all she needs to do is rember to change it back tomorow XD
Amazi-Girl’s got a pretty good crosswind going there!
Silly they are, but even heroes need a break. Not much that doesn’t get solved in the first twenty minutes happens at a collage.
The problem is that they shouldn’t take breaks in their costume.
