This reminds me so much of my student exchange trip to Japan. 2 American guys were part of our small group. On our way in and out of the country, we stayed a night in a hostel and had to use the public bathhouse. They didn’t want everyone looking at them, so they wore swim trunks into the public bath… which was so WEIRD, naturally everyone was looking at them.

This comic really reinforces how much Joyce needs to dress up in a Fremsuit for Halloween. Which should come right around Mother’s Day ’11 at this rate.
I love strip comics that take weeks or months to tell one day’s story (Freefall is the absolute hands down king of this); it’s like drunk-dialing critics who bongo about decompressed storytelling and just laughing at them until they cry. I say more punchlines per square inch equals more efficient delivery of comedy.

College was the worse time of my life and I’d rather be trapped in hell with Carlos from Armada forever than go through that again.
Probably because it is cheaper to build, and cheaper for cleaning. And yes, have to love those co-ed washrooms, nothing like being at the urinal when a girl you are crushing on walks in. My favorite was seeing what the girls looked like in the morning before they got made-up and prettified.
Actually this is exactly what I was talking about. Wasn’t as if the girls were having showers in the boys room.
On the other hand the year before I was there, they plugged all the drains and turn on all the showers and have a co-ed hot tub party. One damned year…

Joyce was homeschooled, so no, she probably didn’t take gym.
Yes, well, for some of us showering after gym in high school was a matter of getting in and out as fast as possible because the temperature and water pressure were lousy and we were fat and/or didn’t want the fat kids looking at us. It was a matter of not completely smelling during math class, and then we’d do a proper job of bathing when we got home. Waiting until you get home to shave and wash your hair isn’t an option when you’re living in a dorm, though, so there is a difference.

At my high school, showering after gym was only available to people who were on the sports teams.
(Sarcasm) My bad leg kept me out of high school gyms, but my time in Boy Scouts allowed me to learn the joy of communal showering. (/sarcasm)
