Ironically, she could not escape and now lives Jonah style inside it’s belly, living off the half digested carcasses of lesser dinosaurs.
Allosauruses were carnivores, right?
While Allosaurus-Girl is good, since Dina accepts the theory that dinosaurs had feathers I think she should become ArchaeopteriGirl !!!
That way she still doesn’t have to change the “A” on the jumpsuit.
I’m still trying to figure out what your Grav is supposed to be. At this resolution it looks like the love child of a Picasso and a Jackson Pollack painting. Cubism meets splat.
*sigh* Amber is really good at fucking things up for herself. She wants to run from Danny, because Danny actually knows who she is now. She wants to stop being Amazi-Girl, because she’s made some tiny progress towards healing. Damn it, Amber. Damn it, damn it, damn it.
I think Amber wants to stop being Amazi-Girl because Amazi-Girl just beat a dude half to death, and might have gone for the other half if Danny hadn’t stopped her. (And, moral and ethical dilemmas aside, as Daisy just helpfully informed us, there were witnesses to this highly illegal activity.) That the dude was her abusive father just exacerbates her dilemmas, because it makes her think she’s turning into him.
And, honestly, I think Amber getting some space from Danny for at least a little while is probably a good move. She needs some time to get her head straightened out, and Danny’s too deeply entangled in the very problems that she needs to deal with to be helpful in that at the moment.
So is Ethan, and Mike is Mike, and Dina is the only other friend Amber has. I’m really glad Dina’s revealed that she knows Amber’s secret, because that means Amber can talk to Dina about it, and while Dina is… probably not the world’s best therapist, she’s an uninvolved party, and just talking about it will help Amber get her head on straight so she can start straightening out the rest of her life.
I hope Amber talks to Ruth, too. Not about Amazi-Girl, necessarily, but about her father problems. I think they’d both probably get some benefit out of that conversation. (Dammit, Billie, stop distracting Ruth from doing her job with your hotness and your alcoholism.)
I also hope that Dina doesn’t take Amber’s statement that it’s not a secret anymore literally.
Part of me wants to imagine that shes been trying that on everytime Amber wasnt in the room from the very beginning and has been trying to find the right time to ask if she could borrow it.
Ah the true test of a hero, when their back is against the wall facing a challenge or turmoil they stop to think, “would my life and the life of other people be better of if I just gave this up”? Now at a cross road to make a choice, an important choice.
OK I have a DOA unrelated question, how do I find the Roomies/Here’s Walky strips with Marcie in them? I’m trying to find out more about her character in the “other” universe. So far all I have been able to wring out of the search system there is that she exists as a character…
That’s Marcie’s name, then a space, then a colon, then another space.
(The spot before the colon is for the type of presence: whether the character is on panel, off-panel, speaking through 2-way comms, et cetera. The spot after the colon is for the type of speech/text: whispering, shouting, narration, singing, and so on. Leave them blank, as here, to keep all results that include the character in any capacity.)
If you want to see the only time Marcie spoke (“Holy sh**”), search for “Marcie :s “
My big question is how is this fitting as well as it is. I mean I realize that The sleeves are long but I feel the Waist and bust would be stretched to the point that it’d look like she’s in a bag or something.
Goes back to SP!, but when Amber was designing the outfit she made mention of it being loose fitting because fighting crime in something tight-fit would, realistically, rip. I’d imagine that same rule applies here in DOA where everything just as much follows realistic physics.
Don’t do it Dina!
If reading DC comics has taught me anything, it’s that PoC legacy characters always get killed off so that the original white superhero can return.
So this is where Amber gets the idea to have Dina act like Amazi-Girl in public while Amber is present, to throw suspicion off of herself? Always a good move when your secret identity is close to being revealed.
As said in upstream post, yes Amber needs to distance herself from witnessed scene of her beating on her father. And right now, Danny is just to close to the problem.
As ambivalent as Amber is on about everything: Danny broke her heart telling her to go away and then he saved her from killing her father and gets her away from the scene. I can see why she needs distance from him, talk about love-hate relationship.
She also maybe needs a lawyer. She will be caught-it’s just a matter of time.
More than one person knows her secret-identity, and too many more are putting two and two together, and will likely soon guess it.
Dorothy is investigating the ‘2 persons running from scene, one in a cape.”
Last. Blaine is still alive and if he was pissed before…..
Blaine won’t press charges. It wouldn’t be macho to rely on the help of others, like as if he wasn’t able to take care of himself. He’s going to hunt her down himself, r███ her, and tell her to stay the hell away from his daughter. (His son can defend himself, she’s just a girl.)
I’m pretty sure that this strip means that he knows, and she knows he knows, even though neither of them are saying what it is they know.
I’m not sure how he knows. That strip also seems to imply that it’s not because she told him what she was getting up to. I kind of suspect that somewhere there’s a stick-figure crayon drawing (in Crayola primary yellow and blue) entitled “AmAzzinG GiRL By AmBeR AGe 5”, and Ethan was there when she drew it.
A tale of two Amazi-Girls!
In a continuity where wacky hijinks trumped all, this would actually be kinda interesting to see. They could switch off who takes on the Amazi-Girl mantle, and throw people off the trail.
Never again would people be able to argue “but you never see them in the same room.”
Oh man, what if Dina offers to become Amber’s decoy-Amazigirl to distract the student body away from Amber? That way Amber can continue being Amazigirl without all the hassle of the media.
today in #9chickweedlane i learned we have to be shown children learning and relearning what sex is, for Reasons, even though they already clearly know and have prepared nuanced questions about it!

It's not a new argument, of course, but Chesterton dismissed it effectively in 1908.
"You will hear everlastingly... this argument that the rich man cannot be bribed. The fact is, of course, that the rich man is bribed; he has been bribed already. That is why he is a rich man."

wilbur, savvy enough to know he's in a comic strip but still not a great actor, awkwardly lifts a muffin up into frame so that we, the audience, understand that he has a muffin right now, which is very important narratively, but he's not really selling it well as an organic, human action
Dina= Adorable
And she changes clothes real fast, too.
It’s her abductee power
I thought it was mental control over lizards. I don’t really know but I sorta just assume since it’s Dina.
It’s always just Dina. Even when it isn’t, it is.
Learned the quick change from Joyce. It might also be something all Indiana girls learn.
ohh my myyy, oh hell yessss
That must be the “adorable” pose, to have too-long sleeves–first Joyce, now Dina =3
To be fair, another webcomic artist proved that a long time ago:

Speaking of Hanners, did you catch the alt-text reference?
Adinable.
So now the Who is Amazi-girl jokes return
You mean they ever left?
Isn’t it Ruth?
Maybe this is leading up to some sort of “I am Sparticus” moment where someone tries to unmask Amber as Amazi-Girl, and EVERYONE claims to be her.
I like this scene better.
http://youtu.be/RVsmJTBT8bU?t=17s
That’s great. I stopped watching this show a long time ago
so I never realized Bulk and Skull got a “Crowning Moment
of Awesome!”
I like the way you think.
When everyone is Amazi-girl, no one will be.
AMAZI-DINO
AMAZI-SAUR
Amazi-Dina!
Dyna-Girl!
But that would make Amber Electro-Woman?
I don’t know which is worse, that you made that reference or that I got it.
Somebody had to have watched that TV show, it was on for more than one season.
And Allosaurus-Girl was born!!!!
Did she eat Sara?
SARA IS MADE OF CEREAL
Headcanon confirmed.
Yes, but Sara survived and now has a deep-seated hatred of Allosauruses.
Ironically, she could not escape and now lives Jonah style inside it’s belly, living off the half digested carcasses of lesser dinosaurs.
Allosauruses were carnivores, right?
Not if you ask Joyce. One version of creationism insists that all dinosaurs were vegetarians. Talk about sucking all the joy out of a concept.
I never heard that one. How strange.
I think that’s only in Eden. They started eating meat after the Fall.
What we really need is an Amazi-Girl and Pizza-Girl crossover
I sure Jeph Jacques would be willing…
“Jur ass ic grass, villainous scum!”
While Allosaurus-Girl is good, since Dina accepts the theory that dinosaurs had feathers I think she should become ArchaeopteriGirl !!!
That way she still doesn’t have to change the “A” on the jumpsuit.
Adorableness just reached critical levels!
I had a comment, but the hovertext said it for me.
Also, mask-wearing hat: +10 adorable.
Oh dang, I didn’t even notice that part the first time.
I think it may be TOO adorable.
She put the eye mask over her hat’s eyes.
Well yeah, the hat is a memorable feature! If she didn’t, then you’d recognize her!
She would need to disguise her hat somehow.
Yes! And also it is frigging adorable!
so frigging adorable
That’s my favourite part. It’s so…Dina.
“Amazi-Girl, did you do something with your hair?”
My Dina Boner is excruciating right now.
I find that phrase disturbing.
I can’t dig it either.
I’m still trying to figure out what your Grav is supposed to be. At this resolution it looks like the love child of a Picasso and a Jackson Pollack painting. Cubism meets splat.
Looks like Sabin suplexing a train.
It looks like Superman taking a dump.
It’s the Phantom/Ghost Train getting suplexed by Sabin.
Well, as long as it doesn’t last for more than four hours…
yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss.
Where did Dina go? WHY IS SAL HERE? CONTINUITY WILLIS!!
This is the first time I’ve ever laughed at this joke.
She went behind the door when Sal came in.
You got that too quickly, Dina. I’m suspicous.
Wow, I guess Dina really is a ninja…
How anyone can say ‘No’ to Dina’s face is beyond me.
It’s easy for me. She’s not SIERRA.
this is the best possible development
Heck yeah, Amazi-Dino Girls!
Will the Amazi-suit give her squirrel-like powers?
No, that come with being Bubbles.
If Bubbles, Squirrel Girl, and Dina ever met, the concentrated cuteness would blow up the earth.
Better by them than the Sliveene (sp) if I had my druthers.
*sigh* Amber is really good at fucking things up for herself. She wants to run from Danny, because Danny actually knows who she is now. She wants to stop being Amazi-Girl, because she’s made some tiny progress towards healing. Damn it, Amber. Damn it, damn it, damn it.
I know…it makes me want to bang my head against a wall!
She’s definitely starting to Dan things up royally.
Maybe she wants to quit being amazi-girl cuz she realizes that there’s a reason that vigilanteism is illegal?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3NxRrVcRsQ
I think Amber wants to stop being Amazi-Girl because Amazi-Girl just beat a dude half to death, and might have gone for the other half if Danny hadn’t stopped her. (And, moral and ethical dilemmas aside, as Daisy just helpfully informed us, there were witnesses to this highly illegal activity.) +1
Dina becoming the next Amazi-Girl?
…I am ok with this!
Sidekick? Sidekick. Dina will be the Robin to Amber’s Batman, albeit with more dinosaur references.
Crime? Prepare to become… extinct.
Puts on sunglasses as Roger Daltry screams in the background…
I’m thinking Puss-in-boots to Amber’s Hannibal Lecter. (It’s a Mask of Zorro reference.)
I actually understood this. Do I get a prize?
What could I give you?
I said it before (in some comment somewhere), I’ll say it again YES! Dina is the perfect sidekick
1) She’s already stealthy. She’s standing behind you right now. You wont see her even if you look.
2) She’s already eager to learn.
3) She already lives with Amber in The Manor / her dorm room
4) The most famous sidekick? Robin. What’s a robin? A bird. Where did birds come from? Dinosaurs. SEE?
5) To repeat… DINOSAUR THEMED SIDEKICK PLAYED BY DINA!!!!!!!!!!
I think Dina would add “with exception of a small group of avian creatures, which will then proceed to become widely spread.”
Yes. Yes indeed. Yessssssss.
Part of me wants to imagine that shes been trying that on everytime Amber wasnt in the room from the very beginning and has been trying to find the right time to ask if she could borrow it.
This way I won’t have to talk to people. I can just say short one liners and leave them in awe.
Ah the true test of a hero, when their back is against the wall facing a challenge or turmoil they stop to think, “would my life and the life of other people be better of if I just gave this up”? Now at a cross road to make a choice, an important choice.
I chose C. The answer is always C.
Stick it in?
Haha, haven’t heard that one in a long time..
I love you Dina
Amber’s side-eye in the last panel is giving me life.
Dina better be the new Amazi-Girl. The way she has the mask over her hat is too adorable.
And thus the torch has been passed down.
And Dina became…
Dino-Gal!
You’re doing this on purpose Dina
OK I have a DOA unrelated question, how do I find the Roomies/Here’s Walky strips with Marcie in them? I’m trying to find out more about her character in the “other” universe. So far all I have been able to wring out of the search system there is that she exists as a character…
Marcie never appeared in Roomies! and only made a few appearances in It’s Walky! She didn’t have much character development.
Yeah, SP had only the one comic with her tagged and she was in the background facing away from the scene.
And I forgot to change my Grav for the serious answer again.
And it looks like she’s never going to get any dialog in DoA either.
“Bullshit.”
http://comicsearch.stacken.kth.se/search.fast?database=itswalky
The search term is…
Marcie :
That’s Marcie’s name, then a space, then a colon, then another space.
(The spot before the colon is for the type of presence: whether the character is on panel, off-panel, speaking through 2-way comms, et cetera. OMG, soooo efing cuuuute!
My big question is how is this fitting as well as it is. I mean I realize that The sleeves are long but I feel the Waist and bust would be stretched to the point that it’d look like she’s in a bag or something.
Probably because spandex is elastic; it fits very tightly around Amber’s body, and it is just OK around Dina’s?
I don’t think it’s elastic though, is it?
Goes back to SP!, but when Amber was designing the outfit she made mention of it being loose fitting because fighting crime in something tight-fit would, realistically, rip. I’d imagine that same rule applies here in DOA where everything just as much follows realistic physics.
I mean, Dina’s popping up out of nowhere aside.
Don’t do it Dina!
If reading DC comics has taught me anything, it’s that PoC legacy characters always get killed off so that the original white superhero can return.
Also if you’re a female successor to a male hero your chances are pretty slim as well.
That’s not true! Sometimes they just…get turned evil.
Oh! the cute! It glares off the screen, nearly blinding me.
So this is where Amber gets the idea to have Dina act like Amazi-Girl in public while Amber is present, to throw suspicion off of herself? Always a good move when your secret identity is close to being revealed.
Next best thing to having a robot double.
I saw that one! Were writers even hired for TV back then?
CUTIEST!
I want more Dina-Gal.
DAMN IT ALT-TEXT, QUITE LITERALLY READING MY MIND!
Foolish Amber. Don’t you know that your angst is no match for the might of Dina’s cute?
Godammnit, I said yesterday was the pinnacle of your career. You don’t get to turn it up to 11 like that!
I love Dina. I love Dina so much. I love Dina more than I hate Danny.
Now that’s a lot of love!
Amazidina!!!
MY INSTRUMENT.
Oh and Dina wearing the costume. Yaaaay!
Is that a euphenism?
No, it’s a joke about how the title of the strip is “Trumpet”, which is the musical instrument I play.
Ah. When will we get to Trombone? Or Guitar? Or best of all, Ukulele?
See, Dina knows what’s cool.
Dina’s not wearing it because it’s cool, it’s cool because Dina’s wearing it.
Just like fedoras and Humphrey Bogart.
Dina wearing Humphrey Bogart is a disturbing mental image. Dina wearing a fedora that’s several sizes too large for her is cute, though.
MUST HAVE AMAZI-HAT.
Perfect icon is just too perfect.
I lov that the Amazi-Girl mask fits over Dina’s hats eyes! Perfect
That is the appropriate question. Good job Dina
Dina definitely defines cuteness factor.
As said in upstream post, yes Amber needs to distance herself from witnessed scene of her beating on her father. And right now, Danny is just to close to the problem.

As one of the people with burning apathy towards Dina, that is hilarious.
Dina’s like “did you even try to hide this costume?”
Additional thought- does this mean Amber doesn’t realize Ethan knows, or is it given that he does?
I’m pretty sure that this strip means that he knows, and she knows he knows, even though neither of them are saying what it is they know.
I’m not sure how he knows. That strip also seems to imply that it’s not because she told him what she was getting up to. Yes, by all means give it to Dina. She would make a wonderful Dread Pirate Roberts.

(4th QC reference in a strip’s comments, I think this might be a record)
Not a hoax! Not an imaginary story! Dina as Amazigirl! My evening is now complete. I can rest easy knowing I had a good Dina-derived adoralaugh.
YES! YES! YES!
Oh my gosh. I have it.
Dina can be her sidekick. She’ll be the Robin who keeps Amber’s Batman from going into all-out total grimdark mode.
NOW THAT I’VE SAID THIS, IT MUST BE CANON.
Would that make Danny Catwoman?
Danny is Superman’s Girl Friend Lois Lane.
I vote Sal for Catwoman.
In terms of the Amazi-Girl backstory, isn’t Sal more Joe Chill?
Sal is the Joker.
Well now she really will be CLEVER-GIRL!
Obviously she will be a full tilt stealth mode super hero.
Oh my god, that’s adorable!
The best part of what is a fantastic strip is the implied alacrity with which she dons the uniform. She has practiced putting it on before.
She’s got raptor skills! A leaner, hissier Amazi-girl! She’ll probably jump even higher! And bite more than punch!
Yeeeesssssssssssssss.
Oh wow. The eye sockets in the Amazi-Girl mask lined up on the eyes with Dina’s hat.
Great job, Mr. Willis.
DINAMAZING.
I approve of this event!
Oh man, what if Dina offers to become Amber’s decoy-Amazigirl to distract the student body away from Amber? That way Amber can continue being Amazigirl without all the hassle of the media.
That sounds too logical, brah.
Did she just magical-girl-transform herself into the outfit?
I love that the dino-hat is wearing the mask
I love Dina. I just love her. And the fact that her dino-hat is wearing the mask is precious.
Same here, same here.
It’s Amazi-Dina!
“Yessss …. but you may want to shorten the sleeves.”
(Incidentally, T. Rexes had the same problem with their shirts)
That’s why they switched to singlets then.
I started reading DoA because of an ad above QC. I’m glad Willis is referencing QC.
Dina gets cuter every page. And her dinohat is wearing the mask? Genius! No one would recognize her!
I approve the hat with eyes needing the eye guard to protect it’s identity
Oh that Last Panel!!! This is my new favorite Amber Face.
The eye holes in that mask are magical. They exactly fit Dina’s hat and Amazi-Girl’s eyes as they squint and widen.
Amazi-girl and her sidekick Dinasaurus Rex.
This is like when Captain America used Thor’s Hammer in 2099:Manifest Destiny and made an awesome CapThor.
Amber:”why”
Dina: “Because there HAS to be an Amazi-girl”
Wait, where did Dina go in the last panel? And I thought Amber was Amazi-Girl, how are they in the same place at the same time?
My jaw dropped at the adorableness. Srsly.
