Gee, it’s Joe.

Let’s all bid a bittersweet farewell to Joe’s It’s Walky!-era purple luau shirt.  A college freshman who wants to have intimate relations with multiple females is not going to be wearing that in 2010.  Unfortunately, as, if I recall correctly, Starline Hodge pointed out to me the other day, the modern equivalent of the tacky luau shirt is the Ed Hardy shirt.  I googled that, because I am 31, and, man, no way am I gonna be drawin’ those!  All those patterns colors would double my drawing time!

So, as a concession, I found a fairly subdued example and tried to filter it down into an “I can do this in more than one panel” simplicity.  Other than that, yay, stripes.  We love stripes!

But goodbye, purple luau shirt.  We had some good times.  Let’s retire you… with a song.

I’m all out of love, I’m so lost without you
I know you were right believing for so long
I’m all out of love, what am I without you?
I can’t be too late to say that I was so wrong

  1. There is no god. Rest well, sweet Hawaiian prints.

  2. So, what song are the lyrics from.

And I’m surprised Ethan never met Joe in the other ‘verse.

    1. You’re kidding right? That’s “All Out of Love” by Air Supply. One of the best songs and bands of the 80’s

  3. The last shirt looks awfully like a SEMME stripe.

    I’m just sayin’.

    1. If you look, there’s a rather SEMMEish shirt in Walky’s wardrobe as well.

  4. So long… And thanks for all the… purple…

    1. We apologize for the inconvenience…

  5. Joe-Prime will always wear the luau shirt… and that’s good enough for me.

I’m betting Joe-DoA’s dad wears luau shirts all the time though…

  6. Friends! Romans! Shortpackers! Lend me your ears eyes!
I come to bury the Luau shirt, not to praise it!
The shirts one collect, live in spirit after retirement.
The goodness in their threads, retired with them.
So let it be with the purple Luau Shirt….

  7. A college student who hopes to become intimate with multiple females and does so in spite of a purple Hawaiian shirt is all the more awesome :p

That being said, I think his current wardrobe choices are well suited to him and wish him the best on his new journey.
