This is my favorite fanart so far! I love her face. I love her hat. But mostly I love her face.
das-g
Her FAAAAAAAAAAAAACE?
Sili
I approve.
Black Bumblebee
well, at least it’s a smaller boom than…
Rowen Morland
Lets hope her character has a happier run this time round.

Why does this one make me think Dina is going to get super powers and become Amazi-Girls Side kick?
Dr. Worm
…Man, that’s dark.
TexasNinjaBuzzard
I have a history of that sort of thing. It lets me pick out the true fans– they’re the ones with horrified looks on their faces.
Osaru Sensei
… Word.
I’d rather have my favourite character live through this series.
(…How was she allowed to wear a hat in class? in our school, teachers are strict on the NO HATS OR CAPS INDOORS rule)
D_T
Um, I’ve yet to hear of a public university with any dress code stricter than “you’re an adult now, dress yourself.”
Osaru Sensei
I’m 19.
(… And possibly most definetly Swedish.)
Osaru Sensei
… So that’d be… Secondary School?
LiamKav
Secondary school is a British term roughly analogous with the US “High School”. In the UK, 11-16/18 (depending on whether they have a sixth form/college attached), and in the US 14-18 (I believe).
19 would be US college/UK university. And, like the US, the UK dress code for such places is “don’t turn up in a mankini and you’ll be fine.”
Ben
Dress codes are often enforced in chemistry labs for safety reasons — sandals or open-toed shoes are often banned (to protect your feet from chemical spills and broken glass), and long hair has to be tied back to keep it away from open flames. But I think Dina’s dino hat would pass muster in most labs. Her lack of safety goggles is another matter entirely.
No0ne
The long hair would be a problem as well. Not only could it get in something it could get set on fire…

Is nothing sacred?
Hell no! *thumbs up*

lol @ the avatar.
Volkai
I should be angry about the title.
But I’m not, because it matches the piece so perfectly.
Good job.

In a series that had more than a few emotional moments, Dina’s “best I could do” is one of the ones that hits me hardest.
Lone Wolf
I can’t help but notice that Walky and Mike are in the background there.
Very nice.
Zem
Dina deserves to be awesome in this continuity.
I know you love messing with the readers, but not on this one please.
MrGBH
I’m setting this as my desktop background. And changing my avatar to something more appropriate.

That did not come out how I wanted at all. But still–wow. That is…wow.

Indeed, you kinda made a gential.
Tatter
Dina didn’t wear her safety goggles. Now she doesn’t need them.

As someone who hasn’t read the previous comics, could anybody explain to me what she did in one of them for this fanart to get this sort of reaction from people?
“This was the best I could do” became one of the most remembered lines from It’s Walky. The scene is significant because:
1. The obvious.
2. Dina was already the character that everyone felt sorry for.
3. This was the first and only time that Dina was seen without her hat (including some non-canon full frontal nudity pics). There had been much speculation about what was underneath it.
4. This was the first and (so far) only time in all of the Willis-created multiverse that Mike looked genuinely shocked and (in the next strip) sad. Put another way, this is the only sign we have of Mike (without the influence of alcohol) possessing a heart.

at least dina has a cool hat. amber’s just a superhero.

And for those who really don’t care about spoilers, here is the very moment that the fanart references: http://www.itswalky.com/d/20030719.html
