That look of despair and frustration is classic. That look that says “I will rip out each of your ribs and stab you through the eye individually with them.”
Hahaha that’s funny too. I imagined it as her coming to the realization that nothing she could ever say or do would convince them that she was serious.
I agree… although surely Sarah can’t be so dense as to think she emulates an ‘expert shopper’ vibe. Any moment now she’ll realize this is the panic over that beer stein being surgically attached to Joyce’s hand speaking.
Probably a combination of all three: Sarah is viewed by them as more a “griping tower of anti-fun” than a “cool/current” girl, and thus not the person to take shopping. They’ve failed to realize that fear of what Billie may do with Joyce (on several levels) has overcome Sarah’s usual hatred of anything that might smack of entertainment.
Sarah well and truly brought this on herself.
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT’VE YOU DONE WITH THE REAL SARAH?! Okay, I know Sarah has a good reason for this, but it’s what Billie and Joyce must be thinking right now.
Be interesting to see all three of them shopping. But yeah, Sarah made her feeling for Billie known at move in week in the dorms..she’s a drunk and Sarah has no patience with users of any kind.
We have a small say here “Haz fama y echate a dormir” (make yourself famous (for something) and just go to sleep) meaning that once you get famous (or infamous) for something, you won’t get rid of that even if you do nothing. Sarah just made a fame out of antisocial behavior, good luck with that dear.
this kind of hits home. my daughter (very young teen) was mostly an innocent Joyce til her “aunt Billie” started buying her makeup, deep vneck shirts, and miniskirts… now she thinks long shirts equal dresses and that brightly coloured brastraps showing equates to a fashion statement. I feel your terror, Sarah
Crap. I’m caught up. I hate it when I’m reading a webcomic and BOOM no more pages for a week. I mean I just spent 2 hours enjoying every comic written on this website. And then I find this! Now I am sad. First world problems.
hey, kid, what do you want to play with from the cool superhero movie? is it a nude, melting senator who feels like a stretch armstrong doll that has been left out in the son and maybe mildly chewed by a neighborhood dog? WELL, SON, YOU'RE IN LUCK!
Joyce is absolutely totally straight and just wants to hang out with her best friend, who happens to be another lady. This is normal behavior and a normal biblical quote to use that has no other context.
GAL PALS
OK, I said I was going to a thread of receipts together on the guy who runs Kapow, in odder to explain why I personally would recommend not giving him your business at TFN.
Starting with the original post, revealing the guy loves sharing right wing fascist stuff on LinkedIn.
Alex Maw@xjmaw.bsky.social ⋅ 6m
Since you might think it's weird you got a like on this over a year after the fact, the director of Kapow just shared this on LinkedIn; i.imgur.com/hqQYWgO.png
so i got photos of the makeship dina plushie proto
and honestly it looks 100% perfect
except
sidebar
the hood can pull off the head, like a real hoodie
which is something i didn't even consider
should i leave that as an option, or tell them to sew the hood to the top of the head
????

Something about early mornings makes Sarah a comedian.
I think Billie brings out the funny in Sarah. She completes her :3
So, does that make Sarah the Comically Serious?
You mean like Batman?
Sarah makes everything funny!
Where is Willis’ art of BatSarah?
I mean, we kinda have CatSarah, but I want BatSarah too… preferably fighting.
CatSarah and BatSal?
Wonder What she had in mind…
Is it wrong that the first thing that comes to my mind is a maid outfit?
No. Embrace it.
Emmmbraaaaace IIIIT!
I’m picturing Joe’s (hey there’s someone we haven’t seen in hella days) reaction to that outcome. Hilarity will ensue.
I meant Sarah, but that works too. With cat ears?
God Damn, gotta stop thinking about my ex -_-
Is Sarah jealous of Billie? Or does she just not like her?
She doesn’t like her.
She doesn’t think she’s a good influence on Joyce.
In the first panel, I imagine every word that Sarah says in bold.
BTW, Happy 4th of July to all Americans. It’s sounds weird coming from a Malaysian but whatever.
It doesn’t sound too weird since the accent doesn’t translate in text.
This particular comic is full of what will undoubtedly be excellent gravatar faces.
I love Billie’s pout/scowl in the first panel.
It somehow puff out her cheeks.
And cue “Wa wa” music.
They laugh now but they’ll regret later.
Sarah, I don’t think Joyce is that easily corruptible.
That look of despair and frustration is classic. That look that says “I will rip out each of your ribs and stab you through the eye individually with them.”
Hahaha that’s funny too. I imagined it as her coming to the realization that nothing she could ever say or do would convince them that she was serious.
Huh, slow day ain’t it?
It’s goin’ at the speed most other days are goin’. Chronologically
“And that’s when I killed them both, your honor.”
“We, the jury, found the client not guilty.”
the defendant*
Freudian slip, maybe she bought the jury to get the verdict
Or they feared the wrath of her pessimism.
That moment when you realize that the image other people have of you is not the image you have of yourself…
I agree… although surely Sarah can’t be so dense as to think she emulates an ‘expert shopper’ vibe. Any moment now she’ll realize this is the panic over that beer stein being surgically attached to Joyce’s hand speaking.
I thought that the idea was that Sarah wouldn’t put up with Joyce long enough to take her shopping, rather than that Sarah is not an expert shopper.
my assumption was that Sarah is viewed by them as more “motherly/conservative” than “cool/current” and thus not the person to take shopping
Is it me, or does Billie look a little like Dina in panel 2 with that vacant, deer in the head lights look?
Billie’s been looking like Dina to me ever since the beginning of this arc.
She looks a lot more asian without the constant scowl. It’s a lot easier to tell that she’s got a mixed heritage.
And Suddenly Sarah looked at her life and realized that she wouldn’t want to go shopping with her either
Or she could’ve snapped and woke up to find the room painted red but that’s just me.
Of course she did. She decided to become the cool friend and redecorate. how nice of her.
“Sarah, all of your outfits are just recolors of themselves. you own like…8 different generic tanktops!”
“Oh my god! I’m a Street Fighter character!”
Palette Shift STRIKE!!
I suspect that Sarah is in fact Michelle Rodriguez.
She’s gonna cry when she gets in the car
(+1 internet if u get the ref (tis easy))
There’s a lion?
Sarah well and truly brought this on herself.
WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT’VE YOU DONE WITH THE REAL SARAH?! Okay, I know Sarah has a good reason for this, but it’s what Billie and Joyce must be thinking right now.
About the latest poll, this is probably going to sound stupid but I had no idea that more than half of the readers of DoA were guys.
Yay, boyfriend shopping!
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
College hilarity transcends gender concerns.
Why is that so surprising, if anything with his pervious comics I would have thought that a clear majority of his readers would be male.
Where are these polls? I missed my vote and I’m a female. I usually visit this comic 3 times a week, so I miss out on stuff
Front page, right column under the comic.
Thanks! Will be looking out for it now. I have a voice now, YAY
Be interesting to see all three of them shopping. But yeah, Sarah made her feeling for Billie known at move in week in the dorms..she’s a drunk and Sarah has no patience with users of any kind.
And yeah. Happy Birthday USA.
Sarah Clinton Fact 42: Sarah is never happy. She merely exists in a state of “not beating you with a baseball bat”.
Her other mode is bitter snarkiness.
She just wants to help her try on underwear.
There deaths will be beautiful things.
So beautiful. (Sob!)
Hey, anyone seen Plasma Mongoose?
Not actually – no, never. Just his Gravatars.
I totally thought Plaz was a chick.
The jury is still out on that subject.
So, you’re like Pyro then?
Whose that?
You know, the one from TF2?
Plasma Mongoose obviously doesn’t believe in magic.
I had to do a number of appointments today which is why I wasn’t here within the first two hours of the new comic like I usually am.
I can just imagine Sarah’s eye twitching in that last panel.
I don’t think you’re imagining it.
this kind of hits home. my daughter (very young teen) was mostly an innocent Joyce til her “aunt Billie” started buying her makeup, deep vneck shirts, and miniskirts… now she thinks long shirts equal dresses and that brightly coloured brastraps showing equates to a fashion statement. I feel your terror, Sarah
She can be happy?
Can I request the title of this chapter be changed to “Staturday’s alright for slighting” until the typo two strips back is corrected?
Though it’d be funnier to leave it as-is and blame it on Sarah only being half awake
I really, really like how well Billie and Joyce are getting along right now. They’re at the giggling, lets-go-shopping! phase. How cute!
Happy Firework day USA!
Anyway, Sarah will hopefully provide a balance to Billies psychedelic taste in clothing…
Crap. I’m caught up. I hate it when I’m reading a webcomic and BOOM no more pages for a week. I mean I just spent 2 hours enjoying every comic written on this website. And then I find this! Now I am sad. First world problems.
Wait never mind. Like 4 more websites. I will never get done with this crap.
Happy. Happy to do a thing that involves Other People. Right. Sure. I believe that.
