Sometimes it doesn’t matter what else people will do, you just need a little celebration. Other times you find out they’re psychopaths and the reason no-one else was celebrating with you is because you are too. But do your little dance anyways, because we all deserve a little celebration when we need to.
I mean Robin’s design was always basically just a palette-swapped Agatha, and Shortpacked! used her as Robin’s “Good Twin” at McAwesome’s, so it kinda fits.
We did miss two and change months. Sarah said Thursday that it felt like she and Walky had been dating without Walky ever being informed that they were dating.
Yeah, but Walky *also* doesn’t live in this dorm, am I right? So it’s probably more like Lucy introduced herself to Walky’s friends that he hangs out with, which in turn led to her visiting their dorm.
Read Hall is close to the Music building so it’s apparently the dorm traditionally favored by music majors.
Which is either the joke of the original comment or makes it ironic, I’m not sure which.
It is pascal (ish?) and it would have done absolutely nothing ^_^
I was just trying to blend in with the hip kids by fawning in geek but I doubt using pascal is the way to do that (I had an intro to pascal in high school and enthusiastically embarked on a very ambitious text-based RPG project on my free time, made it as far as designing the start menu and figuring out how to make save points then quit programming forever ^^)
@milu I’m just about the same in that regard, at least for now.
In high school, I took a class on C++ which I succeeded, yet remember little.
Since then I got into programming in Gamemaker: Studio, although I just played around with its coding language (a lot like Javascript), but I never really made any games.
I will eventually have to learn C# or something if I want to make it far in physics, so there’s that.
Wagstaff: If you want to start some intro physics programming, Python has a lot to recommend it. Very concise syntax, large library set, cross OS support, Open codebase and many open science libraries. Can be as effective for quick scripts, large professional application suites and everything in between. Of course there’s also matlab and mathematica, but you need to pay to (legally) do anything serious in them.
Caveat: I am not a python programmer, though i’ve used it here and there. My experience is more db, java, c and web development with a smattering of shell scripting.
Hmm, I’m starting to think maybe Walky is going to haft to play a role where he helps Lucy build her confidence. I know that people start to glow at the prospects of new romance and that this his probably her first relationship but she’s REALLY over the moon about the idea that a boy gave her a shot.
Granted that might also mean leading by example and I don’t think he’s impressed with himself all that much to know how to do that.
She really likes this particular boy. Plus it’s exciting to have a new relationship, to say nothing of a first relationship. It’s exciting, she’s excited.
Most of us are pretty quick to see Walky’s myriad faults. But he’s also got a positives, and those are what people like Dorothy and Lucy are drawn to. Lucy probably could benefit from greater confidence, but she’s got every right to celebrate.
Okay here me out here. Sal is in this strip. The tags and speech patterns of the last speech bubble indicate such, but upon closer inspection tells a tale missed by 99% of readers! Sal is secretly enjoying the dance. See how small the bubble is compared to Agatha’s, the lack of capitalization or exclamation point. Sal despite her words is not strongly protesting against the dance. In fact the words seem less enthusiastic than average coversation. As if she’s just going through the motions.
I argue that Sal is putting up a front because “cool” people don’t dance despite her being amused and enjoying the dance and human connection thus………Sal = fakey!
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. This comment was sponsored in part by Malaya.
I actually took that as Agatha is singing so loudly that it can be heard clearly from down the hall as if she were right there. Sal’s voice is at an appropriate level for the distance.
alternate reading: Agatha is dancing with the trash chute. the trash chute is not impressed. the trash chute has a southern accent. Willis himself got confused because a talking trash chute is such a nonsense notion he mistakenly tagged Sal instead.

Awwww. Lucy is so happy and Agatha so precious ♡. But I hope Lucy will not really go around saying to everyone about her private life. Let’s hope Becky and Sal will stop her.
Listen, my children, and you shall hear
Of the new boyfriend of Lucy, dear
On whatever date we are in Dumbing of Age:
A relationship in a new stage
So long delayed by Walky’s obliviousness sheer.
I'm thinking this Pride about how I've been able to make a whole bundle of pretty unusual life choices with basically no pushback because of people before me who were willing to be the weirdo.
What would be funnier, a Marvel Soundwave who’s blue, or Hasbro releasing a Marvel Soundwave who’s purple right after releasing a printing of the comics where he’s been “corrected” to blue?
Optimus Prime broke down and cried on the set of "Transformers" (2007) due to the extensive use of green screen filming. He reportedly said, "This is not why I became an actor."
Be nice Becky.
GOOD ONE!
Sometimes it doesn’t matter what else people will do, you just need a little celebration. Other times you find out they’re psychopaths and the reason no-one else was celebrating with you is because you are too. But do your little dance anyways, because we all deserve a little celebration when we need to.
Wait. Who was the psychopath again?
Yes
Just wanted to be sure.
What did Jon Anderson and company ever do to you?
Agatha is super nice! And also looks like Leslie.
But she is fueled by Robin’s skittles.
I mean Robin’s design was always basically just a palette-swapped Agatha, and Shortpacked! used her as Robin’s “Good Twin” at McAwesome’s, so it kinda fits.
I feel like Becky might genuinely be happy for Lucy
I agree. Becky’s got a genuine little smile there. (She just saves her dancing and singing for news of girlfriends.)
Also she should empathize with someone wanting to shout to the world about their romantic endeavors
How does Lucy know so many people in this dorm? She lives in a completely different one unless she’s been by really often to visit Walky.
Yes.
We did miss two and change months. Sarah said Thursday that it felt like she and Walky had been dating without Walky ever being informed that they were dating.
Also, Lucy is the friendly sort who’ll introduce herself to everyone.
I’m assuming she’s been to this dorm a lot to visit Walky, possibly during the time skip and definitely after it.
Yeah, but Walky *also* doesn’t live in this dorm, am I right? So it’s probably more like Lucy introduced herself to Walky’s friends that he hangs out with, which in turn led to her visiting their dorm.
No he does, just not this wing
But Walky spends a lot of his time in this wing. Note his tour guidance of Booster and maybe of Jason.

https://www.dumbingofage.com/2020/comic/book-11/01-this-bright-millennium/highstakes/
I mean, yeah she’s in a different dorm, but it’s not like she’s a music major or something.
Are music majors completely self contained at other universities too or is it just UNT
I believe it’s standard protocol for everyone’s protection.
Read Hall is close to the Music building so it’s apparently the dorm traditionally favored by music majors.
Which is either the joke of the original comment or makes it ironic, I’m not sure which.
Just because a person likes to dance doesn’t make it not special. Who sucked the fun out of you, Becks?
She used up her fun for the day with the Isle of Lesbos.
*Pile* of Lesbos. I don’t like Rebecca, but that joke was too good to misquote.
True, Mr. The Dude, however Becky did also say “Isle of Lesbos” when beating the equine corpse.
I mean she’s saying that with a smile.
Agatha is an actual angel and we don’t deserve her.
Now, just what makes you think that?
That she’s an angel, that we don’t deserve her, or that her name is Agatha.
The first two claims.
Simple logic.
Angels do not exist. Agatha does not exist. QED. Agatha is an angel.
Agatha is a character in Dumbing of Age. We don’t deserve Dumbing of Age. Therefore (drum roll] we don’t deserve Agatha.
Besides the claim that we don’t deserve this comic having no substantiation at all, you really shouldn’t deploy seriously flawed logic like that.
Lest you end up like this guy.
… I can’t remember logic any more. Is that inversion, conversion, or subversion?
Forget logic, reasoning or laws of physics!
What have they have ever done for us?
Without those, you wouldn’t be able to comment on webcomics like this.
In fact, there would be no webcomics, or even computers at all, for that matter!
Forget computers!
What have they ever done for us?
Computed.
Do YOU want to do your own math?
As long as it’s not anything important.
If anyone asks you’re my accountant.
Webcomics depend on computers, and computers depend on logic, so without logic you couldn’t have webcomics.
But without logic, that also wouldn’t matter, so you could have webcomics anyway.
[citation needed] –
What have the romans ever done for us?
I don’t even have to look at the link, Monty Python Life of Brian.
When has logic, reasoning or the laws of physics had anything to do with the Internet?
Without the laws of physics, it’d be upside-down.
Oh, I believe you guys are joking…
But
my Tommy GunDina doesn’t!!!!Dammit, I don’t want .au in my web address!
I hear that Wagstaff believes this is the comic we deserve and that they named their gun Tommy.
Agatha being an angel is self-evident. As for not deserving her, personal judgement.
Self-evident? That’s a very odd claim to make to people who don’t believe angels exist, at least in the supernatural sense.
Of course literal, factual angels exist, as Agatha is one of them.
She might even be two of them.
Exactly.
Original Comment: Agatha’s a cutiepie.

But orange you glad you brought it up?
Comment: Agatha is nice.
Exactly.
…at first I thought that somebody put Sal in the trash chute and was wondering who could even accomplish such a feat and why.
Then I remembered oh, right, Agatha grabs people and starts dancing with them.
Agatha’s fun
We could all use an Agatha in our lives.
Though preferably not until after morning coffee.
Oh! Yes! Her presence would go PERFECTLY with coffee! Right next to the almighty muffin, she would be the perfect complement!
Thought #1: I’d eat a muffin.
2: Her Muffin
3: Or her pie
4: Ugh, too vulgar for sunday morning.
5: ah! I got it:
“I’d eat her muffin with some fava beans and a bottle of cianti. tf – tf – tf – tf – tf”
That conversation certainly took a turn.
I was just going to point out that though the Muffin may be complementary, only the Cheese is almighty.
Now that I think of it, cereal may very well supercede both. However, Agatha would still rival it very much as a complement.
It was Agatha all along

The world needs more Agatha’s in it
Aw I wanna see Agatha dancing with Sal. Unless there’s a bonus panel tier I don’t know about on Patreon.
@Yotomoe may also have some idea of what Agatha and Sal ‘dancing’ together may look like.
Okay here me out here. Sal is in this strip. The tags and speech patterns of the last speech bubble indicate such, but upon closer inspection tells a tale missed by 99% of readers! Sals in the tags
She wouldn’t fit in the trash chute.
alternate reading: Agatha is dancing with the trash chute. the trash chute is not impressed. the trash chute has a southern accent. Willis himself got confused because a talking trash chute is such a nonsense notion he mistakenly tagged Sal instead.

Sal is a talking trash chute?
what? is she? i’m so confused now
Agatha is genuinely so fucking cute in this strip, I am LOVING her energy. <3
One if by mouth and two if by peen.
that’s where the british are coming?
Validation is validation, even if it’s hollow.
Panel 1 & 2 demonstrate the correct amount of weight to give most of Sarah’s advice.
Trash chute’s full?
Where’s a goddamned cheerleader when you need one?
Incidentally, while searching for this particular strip I see that Willis has retro-tagged all the “Billie” tags to now read “Jennifer”.
Dimebox has always been at war with Flatonia.
Someone should’ve called no-tag-backs.
She’ll dance to anything… She’ll dance to ANYTHING!
Willis now has panic’s hurricane stuck in my head… I’m not complaining.
‘Hurricane’ by ‘Panic! At the Disco’
You’ll dance to anything!
Huh.
Who knew Agatha had such a positive personality.
I mean read basically any comic where Agatha has dialogue.
I don’t care what anyone else says, Agatha is freaking adorable.
I’m pretty sure everyone else also say’s agatha is freaking adorable.
That’s the kind of support (almost) everyone needs.
Which dead Paul Revere is the alt-text referencing?

This is probably the first time we see Agatha wearing trousers. I was under the impression that she only wore dresses. (For religious reasons, also.)
She’s worn trousers before. She just apparently prefers to wear dresses.
Mormon women wear pants, just usually not to church.

Now, where are the other verses?
Ooof, tough crowd in this place.
Bravo (golf clap)
Nice to find out something more about Agatha.
I am choosing to believe Becky considers the two subjects equally worth singing about, which is to say not.
I like that Sal is tagged for a word balloon here…
Sal already has one ray of sunshine to deal with, another would be overdose for her.
I love Agatha. *dances around room singing Agatha’s praises*

Thank you, that made my day.
