I feel like most girls consider studying an attractive quality. It means you’re responsible, probably going to get a decent job, and probably either a goal-driven dreamer or a realistic down-to-earth person. Both good things for log term stability, with the possibility of adventures if you play your options right. I, for one, prefer a dude who studies.
Yep — me, too. But like Dorothy, I always put up a good fight. Less guilt if you stay at your desk (where you theoretically could work), while wishing you were out having fun!
And let it be noted that, if Dorothy were Amber, she could be sitting at her desk (theoretically able to work) *and* having fun (playing video games — or . . . reading webcomics, say), while wishing she was having other kinds of fun elsewhere.
Not that I know anything about this sort of procrastination.
But this is also why I can respect Walky as Dorothy’s love interest. No matter how much he’d rather she pay attention to him, even if he doesn’t really get studying, he still respects that it’s important to her.
Having an eccentric professor also helps make you pay attention. Basically, think how (old) Daffy Duck would be if he were giving a lecture on relative physics and acting really enthusiastic about the subject.
By old do you mean the zany one they had before the 1957 remodel of most of the characters or they one after that when they had him as a antagonist for bugs bunny
Meh, I’m not referring to a specific era. Just referring to the cartoons I grew up with as a child (where you either had to wake up really early or had to wait until summer to enjoy) before the Looney Tunes Show, that seems so different from then.
Ah yes, the challenging nipple maneuver, where a partner is held completely horizontal on top the others head with their abs as the centrepoint. It called the Nipple Maneuver because all you end up seeing is your partners nipples, hanging down in front of your face.
Worse. Hear that, bookhat? You’re bad and you should feel bad! Hmmph, that’ll learn ya for tryin’ to teach me.
Boobhat teaches the most important lesson: Everybody likes boobs.
Panels 3, 4, and 5 relate to me as follows:
Freshmen Year
Sophomore Year
Junior Year
Senior year is not illustrated. It would be a picture of Dorothy fast asleep in a puddle of her own drool surrounded by empty pizza boxes and holding a playstation controller.
Rejuvenational sex comes free if you purchase the combo pack of angry and make-up sex.
But wait, order now and we’ll throw in an order of panic sex right before that big test!
Fun factoid, you retain more information if you get your work done right away instead of waiting, so all her work on the weekend that she is forcing herself to do isn’t as effective as the work she is doing during the week.
So if she lets herself enjoy some fun Friday evening through Sunday afternoon she isn’t hurting herself she is actually helping!
Bad move, Walky. Dorothy was in need of a scapegoat, and instead you just went along as if you could live just fine without her. Three nights in a row already.
I never did very well on tests. I think I always knew that plugging in the information needed to beat the test wouldn’t teach me anything – you know about how kids forget everything they needed to know for a test after they take the test – and my goal in school was to learn stuff. Thus I had no motivation to study.
It was pretty interesting in I think 11th grade when I had to talk to my teachers about it. Between that and my barely turning in any homework, they said, they had no way to judge how well I was doing, and did I have any ideas about how I’d prefer to have my knowledge measured?
I did not. I didn’t think it mattered then. I’ve never had any use for my grades yet, so maybe I was right.
The message here is: Be cool, stay in school! Don’t take it home with you.
Aaaaaaand this is why Student Night at the local disco in my university town was MONDAY night. No-one but the most sadistic tutors set any assignments on Monday. But a lot of them were due in midday monday…
Slog through the weekend finishing them off, hand them in at 11.55am, bleary eyed after an all nighter, attempt to sit through one lecture, doze off, cut the rest in order to nap… oh look it’s 7pm, what’s the plan for the rest of the evening? More study? Hahahahahahaha…. no.
Make something cheap and disgusting to eat, wolf it down, shower, change of clothes, and stroll off to join the queue to get hammered* and dance out all the stress and accumulated ickiness.
* Note: hammerage may be dependent on locale. Americans, I pity you and your quaint need to card anyone under 21. You don’t have to hit the bottle like Ruth and Billie, but college is a lot easier to get through when you can occasionally go out and forcibly erase your mind for a few precious hours.

Where did Hollywood go so wrong? I thought movies were supposed to be an escape from reality, a chance to put your worries aside and not have to think about any underlying ideas or concepts. Well, not anymore.

It's not a new argument, of course, but Chesterton dismissed it effectively in 1908.
"You will hear everlastingly... this argument that the rich man cannot be bribed. The fact is, of course, that the rich man is bribed; he has been bribed already. That is why he is a rich man."

Hawley dismisses Trump lining his pockets with his memecoin: "Listen, I think nobody believes that Donald Trump can be bought. I mean, what does Donald Trump need more money for?"
wilbur, savvy enough to know he's in a comic strip but still not a great actor, awkwardly lifts a muffin up into frame so that we, the audience, understand that he has a muffin right now, which is very important narratively, but he's not really selling it well as an organic, human action
confirming that the reason there's been no Galaxy Version female characters in Blokees until now is that they felt they needed to make Round Lady Thighs For Ladies
It's #webcomicday? We have a special day???
Well, my name is Pat McHoarney and I draw 69 Mouse-Ear Blvd, a multigenerational story about women who all have sexy legs and probably other features. There was a grandmother, but she wasn't hot and so she died off-panel.

This is why I don’t study 8D
Studying is for chumps!
[and people who get good grades through hard work]
Yeah, study at the last minute.
I wish I had the ability to study on a whim instead of trying to cram last minute
Yeah, that’s why I got good grades without much work, waaaaaay easier.
Neither do I. I like giving myself unnecessary challenges.
But if this comic has taught me anything, After you study, cuddling happens!
Unless you have a president bound girlfriend who finds studying to be an attractive quality, you are in for a big disappointment.
I feel like most girls consider studying an attractive quality. I don’t have to study for cuddles, my boyfriend gives me them anyway :I
Onward, to meet the parental hordes!

Catta-clapp Catta-Clapp Catta-Clapp
brave brave Sir Robin,
rode forth from Camelot,
he was not afraid to die,
oh, brave Sir Robin!
He was not afraid at all to be killed in nasty ways
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sir Robin!
Yeah, this looks a bit familiar.

Not that I know anything about this sort of procrastination.
Yes, that would indeed be college.
Y’know, I never thought I’d get so excited over time passing in a webcomic.
It’s astounding. Time is fleeting. Madness… takes its toll.
But listen closely….
Not for very much longer!
I’ve got to… keep control.
.I remember, DOING THE TIIIIMEWAAARP?
Drinking that moment when!
The blackness would hit me!
And the void would be calling
LETS DO THE TIME WARP AGAIIIIIIIIIIIN!
LET’S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIIIIIIIIN!
Drinking, those moments when!
I know I have said it before, but this comic’s comment section is awesome.
TIME WARP LET’S DO AGAIIIIIIIIN!
Reminds me of that one story from Dexter’s Laboratory.
She’s taking the mantra of Lover Boy far to seriously
Remember, Pig and Elephant DNA just don’t splice.
I’m not sure what you mean, but I’m taking it as a challenge.
Obscure South Park reference is obscure, wow.
Who 3 days pass in one strip? It’s like we fast forwarded a thousand days in our time.
*Woah
Yea, I think I got whiplash from that time jump.
Next strip starts off with “meanwhile…”

…you could just reply to his comment, you know.
If only you could download knowledge like they do in the Matrix…
But that’d involve us all being batteries.
If only I could absorb knowledge by osmosis by sleeping with my head on a book.
Knowledge isn’t water, so technically that would be diffusion.
If only we could record information on water molecules and drink it like in The Invisibles.
You could always have it playing through headphones as you sleep.
…omelette du fromage…
Oh man, I remember that episode.
Society would quickly collapse, as everyone would be too busy learning kung fu and fighting Laurence Fishburne to get anything else done.
In Man of Steel, it occurred to me that he took the Blue Pill
I don’t even know how to study.
But this is also why I can respect Walky as Dorothy’s love interest. No matter how much he’d rather she pay attention to him, even if he doesn’t really get studying, he still respects that it’s important to her.
Nor do I. I sit down and think, “Do I just read a book? Is that how this works?”
Procrastinate until the information is forced into you.
Panic-induced adrenaline is the best study aid yet.

I have the same problem a lot. But then I’m like Walky with getting an A without too much work.
There are DOZENS of us!
DOZENS!
+1
Last Panel: She’d rather be doing that to Walky’s nipples.
Making fart noises into them?
Yes. I think we all would.
You worry me sometimes.
Ah yes, the challenging nipple maneuver, where a partner is held completely horizontal on top the others head with their abs as the centrepoint. It called the Nipple Maneuver because all you end up seeing is your partners nipples, hanging down in front of your face.
And now for the debate:
“Bookhat: Better or worse then Boobhat?”
If said boobhat is the Amazi-Rack then there’s no contest.
Worse. Hear that, bookhat? You’re bad and you should feel bad! Hmmph, that’ll learn ya for tryin’ to teach me.
Boobhat teaches the most important lesson: Everybody likes boobs.
What if we combined the powers of Boobhat with the powers of Bookhat?
Boobs placed over a book with the spine sticking upwards between the boobs.
Same for me except replace the drool with tears….and then add drool.
I’m pretty much running straight panel 5s. It is less than optimal.
This is why I study with music on. Alone is OK but silence is dull.
I study math while listening to metal
Same! It makes the numbers seem so much more awesome.
Have you ever studied math while listening to mathcore?
“Math-Metal is delicious!”- Winslow
Someone needs some rejuvenational sex, methinks.
Rejuvenational sex comes free if you purchase the combo pack of angry and make-up sex.
But wait, order now and we’ll throw in an order of panic sex right before that big test!
Unfortunately, we’re currently experiencing a shortage in hatefucks. Some snooty British guy in a bow tie came in and bought us all out.
You know you need it
I need it too
You know you need it
It’s good for you
No one got the reference yet? “Too long”?
Now I imagine this playing over a montage of Dorothy studying. Caaan you feeeeeeeeeeeel iiiiit?
LAST FRIDAY NIGHT
I READ TO MANY BOOKS
GAVE THE WALL SOME FUNNY LOOKS

LAST FRIDAY NIGHT
I attempted to “Like” this but then realized this wasn’t Facebook.
STAYING UUUUUUP AGAIN

So if she lets herself enjoy some fun Friday evening through Sunday afternoon she isn’t hurting herself she is actually helping!
All work and no play makes Dorothy a dull girl.
ohnoes are u snowed in at a mountain hotel?
Comic is really picking up speed. Three days in one strip!
From now on, the comic will just be one panel days, by the end of the month they will be graduating.
Actually from now on 3 months will pass every panel. They graduate tomorrow.
Bad move, Walky. Dorothy was in need of a scapegoat, and instead you just went along as if you could live just fine without her. Three nights in a row already.
Somebody better lend him the handbook on women.
Sounds like you need to start hanging out with different women, Dave.
It’s Friday night, Dorothy. Go take a break and have some fun. You can catch up on homework on Sunday.
Now go have some premarital hanky-panky with Walky!

well crap. took me a while to realize that this was the last comic. i may have accidentally just read all of them -_-
I think this might just be a clever way of skipping three in-comic days?
On another note: Woohoo! Imminent Freshmen families, I’ve been looking forward to those.
Is this the 4th Friday or the third? It’s hard to keep track.
Walky is a relaxing influence.
I never Thought a wecomic would be this cool
Its officially love. When you get depressed when 1 person drops our of your life, that is love.
Wow. It only took her three days to learn how to absorb knowledge into her brain through osmosis. This girl is amazing!
It’d be diffusion, since knowledge isn’t water.
Hey, spinal/brain fluid is a thing! So arguably…
So, if you play Eye of the Tiger for a TRAINING MONTAGE!! what is the proper theme music for a STUDY MONTAGE!!?
Depends on your major. “She Blinded Me With Science”?
Does that mean there’s a 2 day skip or are the next comics taking place two days into the past?
Dorothy on Friday night is me every night.
Also, whoo time jumps!
Wow, she lasted three days. I would get to that point after about 4 hours.
“Sometimes we are unentertained.”
