Excellent. It finally feels like there’s a storyline taking center stage instead of random snippets of everyone’s day to day (Which we’ve only seen four days worth)
I’m not certain if you’re referring to the comic as a whole or just the recent strips. Because there have definitely been storylines already that have “finished” and others that have started and are being developed.
Li’l Joe is Amazi-Girl, and that’s why you couldn’t get a good look at him in that video! Amazi-Girl was hiding inside of that woman to preserve his secret identity!
I like the story and the art (which is rare because its usually one or the other) and the characters…but some of them just shouldn’t mesh romantically, different universe or not s:
I knew Danny was going to arrive with Amber when Dorothy was interviewing Joe, and I knew her reaction would be “: / so quick to get over me, huh?” …I’m glad the subject got changed, but I think we can all agree we’d rather not have her secret identity be discovered so soon >//<;
That’s kinda what I’m thinking … “Methinks the lady doth protest too much.”
@Daeva: Re: “Accident”. And there’s that too. Joe seems like the kind of guy who would walk through the house after a shower without a towel waving his “Lil Joe” yelling “Woohoo!”
She and Danny dated for a pretty substantial amount of time, and Joe is Danny’s best friend…
…given Joe’s antics, I’m sure Dorothy got a few glimpses of “Lil Joe” here and there by accident. Whether or not those times were really accidents on Joe’s part, weeeeellllll…
so… danny bit amber so that he could save himself to protect his identity on the off chance that someone suspected him of being a cross-dressing super hero?
But that’s why it’s so clever! Really, it is a male character cross-dressing as a female superhero to better protect his secret identity. So Amazi-Girl is really Joe wearing a cunningly-engineered exo-skeleton to disguise his masulinity and to allow his to express his oft-denied feminine side!
Good Lord, yes!!! And he made her brunette so no one would think it really was Dotty. His first thought when seeing Amber was: ‘Oh Crap’, not ‘Creepy’.
Two guesses on how this will go: (1) Danny gushes about how amazing Amazi-Girl is, and Amber struggles not to blush or (2) Danny gushes but describes Amazi-Girl as a 6-foot buxom amazon, while Amber struggles not to punch him.
I just noticed that in the first panel, Amber asks “So who is my alleged clone now” suggesting that there have been clones of her around before…. mhmmmmmmm very interesting indeed!
rode my bike past where my kid was at camp
bike trail was 10 feet from where they were having lunch
called his name, louder and louder, eventually other kids got his attention
he looked at me like "...who are you?"
"...I'm your DAD."
i have never before felt so much like i was Stranger Danger
Good piece by @jamellebouie.net taking apart JD Vance's reprehensible immigration worldview on the substance. I'd add that JD seems to cast our admission of immigrants purely as an act of benevolence on our part, when of course that's not the story at all

I hope Josh Johnson is given The Daily Show and is allowed to rebuild it from scratch in his own image just like Jon Stewart got to do in 99.
He has built his own groundbreaking form of topical comedy, and imitating the style of others is something he is great at, but better than.

do you think Mario, Luigi, and the Princesses have, like, existential crises about the baby versions of themselves also just casually being next to them in all the races

Good news for the people still circulating this post: it is now a real t-shirt you can purchase and wear to let the world know you take responsibility for the actions of fictional characters:

Someone leaked the entire unreleased Micronauts animated series to archive.org

admittedly, i might be arriving at a little annoyance on behalf of anyone responded to ever with "WELL it's not called SMARTING of age" because that's become a lot, i think the fork might be in that one, it's done
today in #9chickweedlane i learned that "how to lie" is not, actually, achieved by cupping the balls, despite the evidence of the entirety of the first panel, but by some other giant pile of words i guess, tl;dr
“It’s not me who’s a bigot,” they always argue. “I’m fine with all you people. But the rest of the electorate is full of bigots, on whose behalf I will now speak”
It’s Jinx week, innit?
*punch*
and I thought I was going to be the first with a Kim Possible reference!
Bah!
Well Played Jen. Well Played.
… Bloody kids today.
Sorry…cant take that seriously with a ‘My little ponies” Gravatar

I’m not sure if that was meant as Kim Possible. If it had been, I think *punch* would’ve instead been “You owe me a soda!”
(Aside: Anyone imagine what they’ll tell each other they owe each other in the future, INSTEAD of sodas? :P)
Their butts/femurs/FAAAAACEs?
Jinkies! Oh wait, wrong tooniverse.
dorothy might just be the only one out of the 3 who doesn’t know amazi-girl’s true identity to figure it out
No, danny only suspects that amazi-girls true identity is ultracar
Joe probably won’t, he’s too busy getting laid.
The mask is probably the one thing he isn’t trying to get off her.
I don’t see how Amber is suppose to know, either.
Why would they know? Ronald Reagan hasn’t even shown up in this world yet except when he dons his amazi-girl costume.
yeah, but ronnie was the PRESIDENT. he’s very recognizable. i honestly don’t see how the entire student body hasn’t figured it out yet.
C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!
after looking at all those, i’m just glad nobody said Faz is amazi-girl (well, an alt-reality femFaz)
Are you like a vegan or something? You didn’t even consider Trans Faz in your diet.
*rimshot*
Clearly you missed some of my comments over the last few days. ^_^
I noticed…unfortunately.
Can’t…get…image…out…of…head!
How does Amber know the masked vigilante’s name? Maybe she knows something!
Well, she could be Amazi-Girl but that’s insane, right?
Of course it’s insane, everybody knows that Dorothy is Amazi-Girl, duh.
Amber is Ultra-Car, remember?
So Dorothy (Amazi-Girl) rides Amber (Ultra-Car) frequently?
Like a Mini-Con.
POWER-LINX!
Don’t cross the Willis fandom meme-streams! It would be bad.
How bad are we talking?
ET: The Video Game bad.
Try to imagine all memes as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in the internet exploding at the speed of light.
Suddenly I want the Cheese to show up and ask “Are you a God?”
BAD bad.
but so good
Seerow: somehow that avatar makes that post so creepy.
smooth.
Hmm. Ultra-Car’s been laying low lately.
I wish my clone had a secret superhero identity
I wish my secret superhero identity had a clone.
You mean like Spider-man?!
You mean like Ben Reilly?
Did the two of you plan that?
Bet you 5 bucks they did.
unplanned, but i saw the opportunity.
Wait, Amber are you hiding something? Something to do with Amazi-Girl, perhaps?
Well when you’re the butler of a superhero you gotta play it coy. Citation: Alfred
She’s Amazi-Girl butler? I never thought of that.
yup, amber is secretly amazi-girl’s butler, alfred.
Sad to say that I could probably name a few 50-60 year old Englishmen who would pose as co-eds to pick up college boys.
Excellent. It finally feels like there’s a storyline taking center stage instead of random snippets of everyone’s day to day (Which we’ve only seen four days worth)

Wow, that went a lot better than I was expecting.
Amazi-Girl’s awesome powers of distraction save the day! Or date, possibly.
Her powers of distraction would improve drastically if she were to add a chest window to her costume.

It ain’t over yet
I guess she’s unnamed no longer!
So Danny is Amazi-Girl?
No, Danny could not be Amazi-Girl. Amazi-Girl saved him, remember?
He staged it with a robot duplicate, like all the good superheroes do.
Or it was just Foggy Nelson standing in. One or the other.
Rather than a robot, don’t you mean Burt Ward?
We’ve been through this. Danny can’t be Amazi-Girl because Ultra-Car is Amazi-Girl. Amber is Spider-Car.
Maybe Joe is Amazi-Girl. Or better yet, maybe Li’l Joe is Amazi-Girl!
Li’l Joe is Amazi-Girl, and that’s why you couldn’t get a good look at him in that video! Amazi-Girl was hiding inside of that woman to preserve his secret identity!
no no no no no
li’l joe is stoolie the amazi-stool.
Well, he DOES get sat on quite a bit…
PLAUSIBLE.
Don’t they already (kinda, sorta?) know each other from http://www.dumbingofage.com/2011/comic/book-1/04-the-bechdel-test/swap/ this strip?
They didn’t actually introduce themselves to each other.
We’re going to end up with a version of the Spider-Man Clone Wars where it turns out Dorothy is Amazi-Girl, aren’t we?
Maybe she broke up with Danny to protect her secret identity.
Oh, and just to save you all the trouble:
“But Ultra-Car looks nothing like Dorothy! How could they be clones?”
That’s where Robin comes in. She finds a way while on Cadbury Creme Egg cereal.
D: Well I’m glad I was WRONG, but…. *scratches head* is this any better? o.e;
Look, I hate to ask this question, but all you seem to have are negative comments, so… why are you reading this again?
D//x; it does seem that way.
I like the story and the art (which is rare because its usually one or the other) and the characters…but some of them just shouldn’t mesh romantically, different universe or not s:
I knew Danny was going to arrive with Amber when Dorothy was interviewing Joe, and I knew her reaction would be “: / so quick to get over me, huh?” …I’m glad the subject got changed, but I think we can all agree we’d rather not have her secret identity be discovered so soon >//<;
We know that Amber isn’t Amazi-Girl as she isn’t immune to criticism.
I suspect that Faz must therefore be Amazi-Girl.
No, if that were the case, the instant Faz donned the Amazi-garb, he’d instantly be overcome with the urge to procreate with himself.
I thought Faz had that urge anyways?
He has been known to give a mop names and mount them, so that part wouldn’t change.
so the mop is stoolie?
We’ve been through this. Because there will also be a Fazette in this universe, Faz will be able to procreate with himself/herself.
In my book, the longer we go without seeing Faz, the better. He makes me cringe and I am enjoying his absence.
Not that he’s not funny sometimes. But he is only sometimes funny, whereas he is always weird and creepy.
What? No love for the Faz? Impossible!
So Amber and Dorothy have met before.
Did anyone notice that the site banner changed to have Joe instead of Sarah? When did that happen?
Author decided to put the 3 most voted characters on the banner. Happened a few strips ago.
Well then I better come up with something entertaining to say about this strip so that this comment thread does not make me look absolutely idiotic!
…I love how horrified Danny looks at having his new crush and his ex-girlfriend meet.
But you cannot really call yourself a member of the DoA community until you posted a few idiotic comments, usually in the form of memes.
FAAAAAAACE
I’ve found that you can join the community by studiously avoiding those memes just as easily as giving in to them.
Exactly, instead try putting them into comment threads in other webcomics, just to see who from that comic will follow along.
And start looking for names that you recognize from other comics comment threads.
With your penis. For a nickel. >:D
Actually, I did not notice that.
Mind blown.
How is it that Dorothy can recognize Joe’s “Lil Joe?”
Maybe he Joed her.
But why would it have been enough to recognize it? You’d imagine most people would look away.
Alright, alright, I’ve got it all figured out. Danny is Amazi-girl, using the guise of a female to make his secret identity harder to trace!
Now, I know what you’re thinking: “But Daeva, Amazi-Girl SAVED Danny in the strip they met, how could he be saved by himself?”
A valid question, but that’s where my other theory comes into play. Amber is actually…a WereDanny!
so… danny bit amber so that he could save himself to protect his identity on the off chance that someone suspected him of being a cross-dressing super hero?
hes like a fractactical genius!
this is a solid theory. the only question i have is, how do you know that the amazi-girl identity is supposed to be female?
While the long hair and boobs may apply to either gender I suppose, it’s generally accepted that the Girl in Amazi-Girl implies femininity.
Unless it’s Faz.
Guys.
I think. . .I think Amber is Amazi-Girl.
Amber wears glasses. Amazi-Girl doesn’t. Your theory is ridiculous.
preposterous. they look nothing alike. but i heard amber wrote an amazi-girl sighting app.
So people can find Ultra-Car when he drives people into the Amazon and leaves them there?
Joe has not built Ultra-Car in this universe. Logically, Joe is Amazi-Girl. And… and Danny is Joe.
…
Think about it.
Mind. Blown.
Joe built Amazi-Girl and he used Dotty as a template.
Good Lord, yes!!! And he made her brunette so no one would think it really was Dotty. His first thought when seeing Amber was: ‘Oh Crap’, not ‘Creepy’.
And he used Danny’s personality as a base to program her.
And Spider-Car will later become his new super-hero project.
It makes sense, they are both immune to rejection.
“politically-adjacent”
Heh.
We should start putting name tags on those two or something. I have no idea who is talking in each panel.
I know! I can never tell which one is Joe and which one is Danny, either.
I was talking about Amber and Danny, obviously.
Why was Amber dating Dorothy, again?
To provide the readers with some yuri fanservice naturally.
Clone shipping. It’s the new “in” thing.
Dan doesn’t know Amber was Amazi-Girl that night, but I wonder if Amber recognizes the boy she saved was Dan.
Why would she? Ultra-car is Amazi-girl, not Amber.
Dude, everyone knows that Galasso is amazi girl
Two guesses on how this will go: (1) Danny gushes about how amazing Amazi-Girl is, and Amber struggles not to blush or (2) Danny gushes but describes Amazi-Girl as a 6-foot buxom amazon, while Amber struggles not to punch him.
And so the plot thickens.
I just noticed that in the first panel, Amber asks “So who is my alleged clone now” suggesting that there have been clones of her around before…. mhmmmmmmm very interesting indeed!
Zaph and Rose are still missing in this continuity…
I forgot to mention in my comment, that Joe’s eyebrows were blown by the clone revelation and landed in Danny’s faaaaacee!!
