  1. worry not Walky, ya gonna get ya chance, I’m sure of it! <3

    1. But it’s important that he lets her know that she’s not fooling anybody.

  2. Be more selfish is probably the answer. Don’t trust injuries.

    1. You have to be selfish. After all, injuries are not good leadership.

      1. I love this comment section.

      2. Unless they’re cool scars. Cool scars can be leadership.

        1. Stormcaller3801

Cool scars are terrible leadership. They tell everyone, “You shouldn’t do this, it will end badly…. UNLESS”

        2. That’s a mite too Nazi & Friends for my tastes.

        3. i know what you’re thinking, but like

selling trauma for the purpose of mainstreaming a movement in the end is ultimately a morally neutral tool

    2. Lemme tell you how little I want this pairing right now because it feels like it vindicates Dorothy.

  3. GARBAGE SCOW. PLEAAAASE.

    1. Garbage Scow will, like the Mary Ellen Carter, rise again!

      1. Apparently my original didn’t post, so let me edit it in.
        Ahem.

        Garbage Scow! GARBAGE SCOW!!

        **LOUD Boat Horn Noises!!**

      2. I was pretty neutral to this ship, but the fact that its official theme song seems to be The Mary Ellen Carter is drawing me in

        1. Personally I like to use the Mary Ellen Carter as more of a general “rooting for a sunken ship” song

      3. An entirely new take on “She went down last October….”

        1. Fuck, I wasn’t even thinking of that.

    2. The Queer Agenda [frog memes]

      GARBAGE SCOW LET’S GO!

  4. Aww, they’re so cute.

    1. These two have more chemistry together than every other main character relationship. (Yes, even that one.)

      1. I wouldn’t go THAT far.

  5. re: alt text,

    “stoned I am” XD

  6. Maybe now’s not the time, Walky

    1. Listen, at least he’s not doing an actively garbage job like Joyce has been recently.

      1. *Joyce almost actually talking to Joe*

“No time right now! Gotta go get the McRib!!!

        1. McRibs are important.

        2. Dina: Are you not going to make her sit down and talk to you?
Joe: The McRib is back. That’s important.

        3. Walky looking at Amber’s injury, “I’m really craving a McRib right about now.”

    2. If you can’t seek validation that a girl likes you when she’s in your bed, heavily medicated, and with open wounds then when can you?!

      1. That was my question. Except I would have added the lack of pants.

      2. Those are dressed wounds, thank you very much. Totally different.

        1. Dressed yes, but not sutured. So they’re still open. Just not gaping.

  7. Aww… this is so cleansing.

  8. I think Wamber is cute and should keep happening.
My favorite moment they’ve had so far is how Walky is the first person to immediately clock the plurality stuff going on with Amazi-Girl, compared to Ethan and Danny. I clapped and cheered at “oh you’re like two different people, huh…”, it was very nice.

  9. God I love these two.

  10. this angle is doing numbers
    gl sleeping, walky

  11. He may have been her third choice, but she did still choose him.

  12. Amazi-Logic is logic.

    1. You want amazi-logic? Consider this progression:
Dorothy and Danny are a thing.
Amazigirl alter and Danny are a thing.
Dorothy and Walky are a thing.
Amber alter and Walky are a thing.
Dorothy and Walky are a thing again.
Amber alter and Walky are a thing again.
Dorothy and Joyce are a thing.
Mike alter and Joyce are a thing.

      The logic is impeccable.

      1. 0.1 on the logarithmic TimeCube scale. Impressive.

        1. “TimeCube. Now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a long time. A long time.”

  13. She probably feels safe with you, you goober.
She knows that no matter what, you got her back, that you care about her.

  14. DROP WHAT YOU ARE DOING — go to the Cast page and PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE JOYCE

    1. Dang, beat me to it.

      1. Did I miss something?

        1. Willis accidentally broke the cast page and now (as of writing this comment) Joyce is at the top of the page (instead of the site banner) and clicking on anyone else doesn’t work.
Joyce fans and detractors alike can probably agree: Yeah that seems in-character for Joyce.

        2. That’s pretty funny. I tap on any character and WordPress wants me to log in

    2. Only 28 Cast members? They’re losing the cast race to Questioable Content!

  15. S-tier alt text.

  16. I wish the form would remember my info, I keep entering the wrong email, and then my comments await approval forever.

    1. Actually my first comment is entirely gone for some reason.

    2. The Queer Agenda [frog memes]

Oh, it’s not just me and my extensions breaking it? New form is always blank, whether the box is checked or not.

  17. ooh it updated earlier today.
Also you are a bad liar Amber, good night

  18. I might be misunderstanding, but I call BS on nobody noticing Amber sidling the entire circumference of the building without getting noticed. My town had ninjas invade the downtown area doing nothing at night except parkour and like… vandalizing the roofs of buildings not visible from the sidewalk and people noticed them immediately. People would freak tf out about a random girl like 5 floors up on a ledge.

That said, I love these two so very much that I do not care.

    1. wait, actual NINJAS????

      1. They were dressed as them lol, it definitely cracks the top 10 things that’s happened in my town while I’ve lived here.

    2. Yahbut there were a bunch of cops distracting everyone at the time. Best time to sneak about unnoticed is when something more interesting is going on.

… also, everyone’s probably used to seeing Amber climb out the window by now, and also Sal, and probably a bunch of others.

    3. I used to climb up and around the sides of dorm buildings in college and was rarely noticed by passers-by

      1. Can confirm, I’ve known multiple people who would do this kinda nonsense. People look up at buildings less then you think, notice less then you think, and decide somethings their problem less then youd think. Hell if I saw a girl on the outside of a building during a cop raid I’d keep my mouth shut.

      2. Can confirm as well. Only time we ever got noticed was when we went from “climbing” to “rappelling” and someone at ground level saw the rope.

      3. I guess. I just know last time I was on a ledge that high I was noticed basically immediately and it’s impossible to go anywhere fast when you’re doing the sideways scoot video game style.

Like it’s not even about being a snitch, if I were a bystander I’d assume it was a suicide attempt, I genuinely don’t think them escaping cops would cross my mind even if I knew about the raid. But I’m super cognizant of looking out for that stuff because depression.

    4. My experience with scaling buildings is that people don’t look up unless you give them a reason to. I’ve called people’s names while in plain sight two stories above them and had them look all around themselves and check nearby hiding places on the ground, but not look up until I repeated their name and added, “Up here!”

People further away might have her in their field of vision, but they’re, well, further away, so both less likely to notice and less likely to consider it their problem.

And of course, if you see an injured girl scaling the face of a building to evade an illegal search by corrupt cops… no you didn’t.

  19. “It’s not like I want your hot, throbbing peener inside me.”

  20. “Look, it was cooler that way. That’s it. I did it because it was epic.”

  21. garbage logic this is

  22. Looks like Charles is getting his way after all! (not really, necessarily, but he did call out her feelings: “but Amber committed a crime for you”)

    1. “I’ll do anything for you if it involves climbing a building”

  23. SS Garbage Skowl, in the slip.

EDIT: Wait, we can edit our comments now? ….. okay, I might not 100% hate change after all.

  24. So if I’m reading this right, Amber avoided multiple easier-to-get-into rooms to go to Walky’s room while she was climbing around outside the dorm building to avoid the cops. That’s interesting. But I refuse to get my hopes up for a return of the Walky/Amber ship.

    1. Injured wild animal will retire to its safest lair.
And play video games, which is where the analogy breaks down.

      1. Hey now – I bet if the average wild animal had thumbs and access to a Switch, they’d want to play video games when injured, too.

  25. You just gotta be more selfish, Amber!

  26. She siddled along the Garbage Ledge. On it, she could be garbge

  27. Between 3rd and 4th panels, looks like Amber resting on Walky s chest. Flinch your eyes to see it.

  28. God I adore amber

“Elas, I am injured and must rest. I must away.. AWAY!!”

  29. How do we get the alt text on the new setup? I’m fingering my screen like it’s a plug socket behind something I can’t quite see behind while reaching for it, but not hit the magic spot yet.

    1. Tap and hold the strip until the lil menu comes up, it’ll be at the top

  30. never change, Amber

  31. Yeesh, kinda depressing the nymph thread got nuked yesterday ,:/ she was a valued member of this community, sad to see all the goodbyes just erased

    1. I missed all of that.

What happened, and what caused it to get removed?

      1. Replied to you yesterday.

The thread was literally just Nymph saying goodbye. Willis had no reason to delete it. Only whoever’s been report-bombing Nymph’s comments would have had any reason to want to delete a thread where people were just saying goodbye.

And yes, one person can report-bomb by manipulating cookies. It’s not even hard. Ain’t saying how because this comment section doesn’t need more people who know how to do it, but any reasonably tech savvy person will already know how.

        1. Ok, I understand people can spam reports, but I was under the impression that Willis does the removals personally.

Is there a number that triggers automatic removal? If so, this forum is wide open to malicious manipulation. Gross.

        2. The deletions were specifically asked for by the original posters. Nymph’s goodbye posts weren’t report bombed, don’t worry.

        3. Two threads were deleted by me yesterday because the OPs asked me to.

        4. @Adept: Willis CAN manually delete things and sometimes does, but deleting isn’t the only way to make comments disappear. Comments that get report-bombed disappear for us because they’ve been sent to moderation, where Willis MIGHT eventually see them and decide to restore them. But Willis doesn’t intercede in every case. They’re just one person, after all.

@Taffy: unless you’ve heard from Nymph, I think you’re misremembering the order of events yesterday? Nymph’s goodbye thread IS gone. Nymph did ask for the *other thread* to be deleted, but not for the goodbye thread to be deleted, and Nymph WAS the OP of the goodbye thread.

        5. @Willis: okay, but THREE threads are missing from the comments.

One from Nymph that I never saw, which Nymph eventually asked you to delete.

A second one, speculating about the disappearance of the first thread, which I assume you were also asked to delete.

But also the third thread, where Nymph tried to reassure everyone that th first thread had been deleted by request, where people just replied to say they were sorry to see Nymph go. That thread is also missing.

ETA: Unless they said goodbye in response to the second thread??? Which I didn’t think they had, but I’m on mobile, so maybe I misjudged indents.

        6. The “third” thread was Nymph responding to the second, prompting the deletion request for it as well.

        7. Thanks for the clarification David Willis. I was getting mighty confused.

        8. I really did think it was a separate thread.

I appreciate the clarification. Still sad those comments are gone, though.

    2. …what happened???

      1. Basically, Nymph played The Winged Dragon of Ra, but it was actually a copy of the original card, which angered Ra, so she got struck by ancient Egyptian lightning at a really inconvenient moment in the duel. She’s okay, but she’s gonna miss a good chunk of the finals.

        1. Oh well that clarifies it.

    3. Oof… Sorry, didn’t mean to spark a whole thing. Missed the explanation before

  32. obligatory “rest, i need” comment

  33. It’s not like I like you or anything, idiot!

    1. Baka!

      1. Baka survivor!!!
        Yeah yeah BAKA SURVIVOR!!!

  34. not exactly sure what “all’a that” refers to. Joe and Danny’s room is on the opposite side of the hall as Ethan and Jacob

    1. I looked at a few maps, because I had no idea how to visualize what was going on.

      1) The Read Hall building is laid out like an X. The four wings are the arms of the X. Clark Wing points northwest. Beck Wing points southwest.
      2) Amber’s (and Dina’s) room in Clark is on the southwest side of Clark Wing. We know this because when she looked out her window, she could see parking lots near the building, between the building and the street where the police cars were (that street is Eagleson Ave, BTW). The only parking lots near Read Hall are on the west side, between Beck and Clark Wings.
      3) The lobby extrusion for Read Hall is to the south, between the southwest and southeast wings.

So if I’m understanding the maps and Walky’s words correctly, we are left with the possible implication that Amber went out her window on the southwest side of Clark Wing, traversed the outside of Clark Wing to the central hub, then traversed the outside of Beck Wing (passing at least one room of someone she knew) moving southwest, then went around the extreme point of Beck Wing, and started traversing northeast on the other side of Beck Wing until she reached Walky’s (and Booster’s) room above the lobby extrusion (on the southeast side of the wing). That’s quite a shlep in the freezing cold while severely injured.

Now, it’s possible that Amber took a much shorter route of climbing through the window of an unoccupied room on the northwest side of Beck Wing, and then walking across and down the hall to Walky’s room (going in through the door), and her implication that she climbed in through Walky’s window above the lobby extrusion is just bullshit.

One other possibility is that Amber did climb in through Walky’s window, but took a shortcut through two unoccupied rooms in Beck Wing; climbing in a window on the northwest side, crossing the hall, and going out the window on the southeast side. That might have been the best compromise between being in danger of falling, and being in danger of being seen by cops.

      1. I am reminded of an old Russian proverb:
The good friend is near — but the way is dangerous.
The hot garbage is far — but I will move carefully.

        (somewhat freely translated)

  35. Is anyone else noting you can’t click to comic see the next page anymore? Is it just a bug, or is it intentional?

I hope it gets changed because I really don’t like having to click the next button; clicking the comic was super convenient when I’m going back to old strips to read chunks of the story again.

    1. Apparently it was getting in the way of the new way to see hovertext. (which is clicking and holding on the comic and reading it at the top of the window that pops up)

The old way of hovertext reading was a Comicpress-proprietary bit of code that might take a bit to replicate, if possible. The click navigation’ll return if we figure it out.

(also, the left-right arrow navigation was also activating while people were using arrows while writing comments, so that’s gone also for the moment until it’s figured out)

  36. Well, damn, this place got a makeover since I was last here.

  37. D’awwww ❤️ and “I’m on painkillers. I admit nothing”
