On mobile, at least on android, you can press and hold underneath the second last panel and then the alt text will pop up. For me I know it has worked when the rest of the screen has sort of darkened a bit.
On my android phone, I have to press and hold on the comoc itself.

Personally, I would rather NOT see Ruth having a “no regrets” moment.
“no regrets moment”? At the risk of sounding ignorant, I have no idea what that is. When was she all “no regrets” ? When she was on a drunken spiral with Billie? Cause she’s doing way better now so I don’t think she’d relapse over this. Or is it something else?
“No regrets” is a phrase from the Walkyverse, where Ruth’s life took a very different turn early in the strip. Often paired with “act with integrity,” ditto.
In Roomies! Ruth dies saving Danny’s life. her last words were, “Act with integrity, no regrets!”

Roomies! Is the first of the Walkyverse comics, which leads into It’s Walky!, Joyce & Walky!, and then finally Shortpacked! Dumbing of Age is an alternate universe with the same characters; kind of a “What if Martians *hadn’t* attacked Earth and Head Alien (from the planet Alien) hadn’t kidnapped all these kids as toddlers and infused their bodies with Martian DNA?”

I was going to say, cue Ruth busting in and saying “I’d tell you to get up, but it looks like you’re all out of femurs.”
Toedad slowly slides out of frame as his now-femurless legs give out. Next panel, Ruth has two bloody femurs and is beating henchman #3 over the head with one.
We’re back in Clark, alright, just not net positively.
But “everybody” everybody? All other like, 8, girls shouldn’t be in this tangled mess
Maybe not “everybody” everybody, but I think there’s enough of them missing to justify Ruth’s perhaps slightly hyperbolic use of “everybody”.
In fact, you could read it as “everybody [who’s missing]”, so it depends how you contextualize it.
It is the majority of one particular social circle even if it isnt all the residents of the wing.
It’s the middle of the night, midterms week. Most of the ones not kidnapped are either back to sleep or pulling an all-nighter at the library.

Sal’s probably off doing nighttime Sal things (smoking and lurking), the rest probably went back inside after they got the all-clear after the fire alarm.
Ruth and Amber plus Sal could probably destroy the kidnapper dads right now. Just sayin, y’know since no one really has a plan beyond trusting Amber’s decision making. It’s right there.

Well, in a really grim way, she did attempt to kill the last person who threatened them. So, I don’t like Blaine’s chances.

For a minute I thought this was a sudden time jump to the next morning, but then I realized it’s just brightly lit cause Amber and Ruth are inside. This whole chapter has been so dark and shadowy that I forgot about the existence of indoor lighting

Okay, this seems like negligence from Ruth’s part, and it seems Amber just agreed to whatever Becky just planned… This whole story arc has been a depressing mess.
It could be that AG just wants her kit. In that case, Becky may be acting without coordination with Ambazigirl’s plan or that the phonecall was meant to buy time.
They’re college students, not babies. Negligence would be if she hadn’t made sure everyone got *out* of the building after the fire alarm went off.
That like 6 of her residents wandering off to get food is actually a much more reasonable assumption for Ruth to make than a group that size all being kidnapped at once
‘My residents were kidnapped by one of them’s mob stooge dad on a vengeance bender’ is not high on the list of foreseeable circumstances, no.
Yeah, you would have thought Willis would have warned us or something.

Call me vindictive…but I want to see a Ruth and Blaine rematch where Ruth ends him with the fire of a thousand suns.
Then Amber can feel both vindicated that her father is put down, but also not harbor the guilt of having done it herself.
Although I admit after the changes in her life since that last incident, I’m not certain Ruth still has that level of rage in her…but maybe she could approach it like Gabriel Law in the “The One”, embracing a zen-like rage rather than indulging in pure ferocity.
I was thinking different Jet Li movie; “Unleashed.”
Ruth isn’t angry anymore. She’s focused.
I’m surprised Amber’s just walking back to her dorm. I figured she was going back to get her Amazi-Girl costume and return to where Ross and Blaine have everyone to rescue them.
Her costume is in the dorm. She was pulling an all-nighter to keep Amazigirl at bay when the alarm went off. Returning to the dorm was part of the plan.

I appreciate how this plan just leaves the two black kids tied up in the dark.
A day late but i am now patiently awaiting the moment where action kicks off and the hostage situation goes to hell. As everyone begins punching and kicking their way out, Dina finds herself squaring off against Toedad. Punches are thrown, and Dina scratches and bites her way to victory. Just before the final blow can be struck, she looks Toedad square in the eyes, and finally asks, ‘Have you seen Jurassic Park?’
I’m worried Amber is still mulling over her statement that she can’t kill her dad. It’s worrying enough that she had to say that out loud.
Amazi-Girl said she can’t kill them; there’s no blushes in that panel. It remains to be seen whether that applies to Amber.

I hope the chapter name ‘When it crumbles’ refers to the dysfunctional split between Amber and Amazi-Girl. Along those lines, Amber has had a rough time and looks really fragile right now — and she and Amazi-Girl have already been talking. Maybe now that someone seems to be genuinely concerned, she will just let it all out — in a hugely cathartic montage of confession and revelation, probably accompanied by a genuine breakdown. Or maybe Willis will want that after the kidnapping resolves, and Amber will just give a numb ‘gotta sleep…’, while Becky kicks ass and saves the day. Becky deserves to have a showdown where she wins, and ends up with her independence and (from her friends at the very least) personal validation; so maybe that is in store.
I don’t know how all of this is going to work out for Blaine — Amazi-Girl has ruled out killing him, so he will continue to be a constant thorn. Unless there is a police confrontation where bullets fly and he dies — his insurance, at least, could end up helping Amber and his new family.
The first rule of being an RA (or any other position of authority) is don’t ask questions you don’t actually want the answers to.
