Dorothy was volunteering with her opponent even as Becky just started with Robin. Roz liked him too and Carla’s family also donated thousands. I think these are fairly decent endorsements that, even if he wasn’t the most progressive candidate in the universe, he’s fairly decent.
Robin dropping out now (after being personally effected by the kind of destructive people she pandered to) would let the comic time-skip past election day without us feeling like we missed anything plot-wise…
The Internet means introverts can talk with each other without having to meet in-person or even leave their homes. Probably a good idea not to meet in-person anyway right now, with the Covid.
Amber is so online that if she ever got sucked into the world of computers like in Tron, she’d discover that she’s already a ubiquitous mythological figure there. There are temples in her honor, where her fanfic writings are The Sacred Texts.
Needless to say, this particular Tron sequel would be NC-17 due to this fact. But hell, Disney tried a PG Tron film, and a PG-13 one, and neither were hits, maybe this is what will finally work.
Amber is even more than fantastically online. In fact, she’s so online, she’s more on than any line has, is, or ever will be, amen.
She’s also technically not a real girl, but a 3D-printed body that’s being remotely-controlled by her real self that exists solely within the internet.
The one secret she never wants anyone to know is…Amber’s real name is Skynet. O_O
Same. I have a few guesses. There’s evidence that Amber’s Dad’s death may not be a suicide. Something about Robin’s campaign. Or that Joyce’s church is being jointly sued by the college and parents for bailing Toedad.
Think it would be rather too quick for a lawsuit announcement. Becky’s parents only came up with the idea around lunch. They would have to travel home, contact a lawyer, etc. And I double the college would sue since they don’t really have standing (since they were not directly harmed)
She has to get a lawyer to agree to a consultation, agree to take the case, and write up a complaint in that time. With an actual ‘this is the amount of money we want’ in it. (I mean, they MIGHT be able to do it themselves in that time frame in small claims court, but judging by Linda’s desire to sue them into oblivion, I don’t think she wants to sue for $6000 or less.) And then that complaint would have to be served on the defendants (and while Linda’s a member of the congregation, I don’t know offhand the details of how you fulfill service of complaints with a church, I think it’d need to go to the pastor or something.) And even THEN, it wouldn’t be publicly known immediately.
Linda’s good at using the system, but she can’t make it work THAT fast. Especially since it’s still… questionable, as to whether Linda actually has an actionable claim. (For one thing, Walky’s a legal adult, so she can’t just unilaterally sue on his behalf.)
Well, I suspect she’s good at using the system to at least the extent required for Sal’s case and the ‘knows how to leverage a contact.’ That still doesn’t translate to ‘has a lawyer on hand who could take the case and will,’ especially since she didn’t know you COULD sue a church until Charles checked.
And seriously if Walky doesn’t want and consent to sueing, she can do precisely JACK SHIT, because he’s still alive and legally competent.
As long as we’re guessing, Mike died, Joyce’s mother is in an ongoing gun battle with the police, Robin has been kidnapped by a disgruntled former supporter, Ryan has been released and the Head Alien has finally revealed himself on this world, dropping his secret identity as Faz.
Robin is a Republican, correct? I don’t think it’s Robin dropping out of the campaign as much as the possibility of the state party machine, seeing her as either a turncoat or (more likely) a potential liability/embarrassment, pulling their support from her.
They already pulled their support, that was what made her have an argument with her staff, which brought up Bro MacGashface and she fired them all when they adviced her to not go after him
There’s a thing going around Twitter that undergraduates perceive a social message ending in a period is “less sincere” than same message ending without a period. Naturally this is the sort of ludicrous inanity that the Twitterverse thrives apon and so it briefly went viral.
I think that Dina seeks out Amber because, as the other woman has her own issues with small talk and being around other people, she can be sure that she won’t pressure her to interact further than just being in each other’s presence.
We can’t have the election become a plot point. Same with trials or funerals. It would devour the plot. DYW is clearing the field of plot devices. No more Blaine or Ross. Hank will keep carol at bay. A little time skip and we’ll be beyond this and into new and different plot lines. Like when a soap fires a bunch of actors and shifts things around. I think we are done with murders and elections. Robin stays only if she just dropped out of the race.
And the hotel room scene continues. I think it is from reading Megatokyo, but I start getting nervous when all the main characters start to gather in a single location.
uh oh Becky’s found Gay Breakfast
…
nah, it’s about Robin isn’t it
That’s my guess. Robin giving up the race or something, most likely.
I hope not, unless Dorothy’s earlier reading that the other candidate(s) had to move more progressive to compete with her was accurate.
In the immortal words of Paul Williams, “If it isn’t, I’m the Incredible Hulk.”
Maybe Robin announced Becky wouldn’t be her campaign manager anymore?
And second gay breakfast?
Gay elevenses.
Now you got me curious about gay breakfasts. I googled around and it seems that its just breakfast. Possibly with more muffins, but its inconclusive.
It’s breakfast, but happier?
I mean the store with pins but ok
Introverts of the world unite! (Don’t worry, you don’t have to talk to each other.)
The Internet means introverts can talk with each other without having to meet in-person or even leave their homes. Probably a good idea not to meet in-person anyway right now, with the Covid.
So what I’m hearing is that Covid is an introvert plot.
Asynchronous communication methods like this just sweeten the deal.
…Unite separately, in our own dark, quiet, areas with good Internet connections.
That is a FANTASTIC idea. A terrible, terrible fantastic idea.
Amber’s like, “Please. I could code a better online world than TRON in my sleep.”
I’m hoping that whatever Becky is surprised about is positive and not another earth shattering revelation.
Also nice to see Dina and Amber socializing even if Amber is mostly hiding.
Oops make that Walky’s/sal’s parents
True, but I think with how mad Walky/Sal’s mother was, I can see her expediting things along. She has that educated Karen vibe.
Bonus: used to be married to the Dean.
She has to get a lawyer to agree to a consultation, agree to take the case, and write up a complaint in that time. With an actual ‘this is the amount of money we want’ in it. (I mean, they MIGHT be able to do it themselves in that time frame in small claims court, but judging by Linda’s desire to sue them into oblivion, I don’t think she wants to sue for $6000 or less.) Plus 3 to you. This made my day!
Amber was born in The Matrix.
What’s becky reacting to?
Calling it now, Robin Dropped out of the Election.
I think this is the most likely outcome.
Robin is a Republican, correct? I don’t think it’s Robin dropping out of the campaign as much as the possibility of the state party machine, seeing her as either a turncoat or (more likely) a potential liability/embarrassment, pulling their support from her.
I’m pretty sure they already did pull their support from her.
They already pulled their support, that was what made her have an argument with her staff, which brought up Bro MacGashface and she fired them all when they adviced her to not go after him
What if she came out as Bisexual?
I’m guessing the police investigation of Lester has already hit pay dirt.
You’re acting as though that investigation is neither phoney nor baloney.
There was a Patreon bonus comic. People voted for Lester. It went as well as you’d imagine.
Hopefully something good.
Something on Twitter.
Or maybe she looked up the comic and saw Walky’s tagged but doesn’t appear, while Danny’s in frame but not tagged.
Be true to yourself amber. If that means sneaking away with your phone, so be it.
There’s no way she’s admitting she’s Amazi-Girl right?
This is Garbage Roof, remember?
You can’t be a Superhero on Garbage Roof. It’s against the Rules.
Everyone here already knows, I think.
She could have come out online and that’s what Becky’s reacting to, but I doubt it.
Robin switching parties after being elected?
She hasn’t been elected yet. She got a boost in the polls, but hasn’t technically won.
Will we even get to election day in the Walkyverse?
There’s a time skip coming, so quite probably.
Amber is a mood.
I’m worried she’s reacting to something that Amber tweeted. Now to hunt fown those DOA twitter accounts to see if Willis has done a “thing” with them.
Doesn’t look like there’s anything, but maybe there will be tomorrow after we find out in-comic.
This isn’t even antisocial in 2020 standards. It’s just reality.
It’s not like she was using periods or something.
I… don’t get it?
There’s a thing going around Twitter that undergraduates perceive a social message ending in a period is “less sincere” than same message ending without a period. Naturally this is the sort of ludicrous inanity that the Twitterverse thrives apon and so it briefly went viral.
That makes no sense.
Wait…
That makes no sense
…
Aww, poor Hat Guy, overlooked by the tags.
Huh. Weird. I see Danny head parts, but no Walky parts. The artist mistagged?
Damn you, Willis!
Couldn’t resist
The tags have since been corrected
DoA Book whatever number we’re on now: I Am Fantastically Online
We’re still on book 10. It’s in the URL.
“Sh’ain’t”?
She ain’t. Err, she isn’t
Yeah, Willis missed another good comic naming opportunity there.
Dina just… teleported up there. As Dina does !
Time skip?
But Halloween!
Maybe we can have a time skip followed by a flashback
“Boy final exams are hard”
“You might not find it so hard if you weren’t still hung over from that Halloween party”
RIGHT??? Willis had BETTER NOT SKIP HALLOWEEN or SO HELP ME
Does Blowjob Cat arise and stalk the streets on Halloween?
Weird then to emphasize the election and the political race so much, just to drop it because the election can’t be a plot point.
Dina is so sweet. And I hope Becky has see something realky incredible.
Amber is… Amazi-Online?
There are so many students using this roof now, this is turning into an anime
And the hotel room scene continues. I think it is from reading Megatokyo, but I start getting nervous when all the main characters start to gather in a single location.
