My candidate for that title is Grrl Power, which, after five years, has finally gotten to the second day of a flashback to several months before the first few pages, thus having made negative progress.
Between Failures would also be a candidate, taking over 300 pages to cover one day. However it updates daily, so depends how you measure it, pages or chronological time.
I think it’s picked up speed since then, though. Though I have to admit being not entirely clear on how much time has passed since that first day.
Freefall is also legendarily slow. Both Between Failures and Freefall have been making steady, if slow, forward progress, though. At its current rate, it’s going to be many years before Grrl Power catches back up to where it started.
She wanted to ask for a ride on Sal’s motorcycle because she thought that disobeying her parents made her a rebel and thus cool enough for the bike. (Alas, motorcycles are only for people who can say fuck).

This is probably just meant to be a running joke but I can’t help but wonder exactly what happened to Sal that her first instinct, upon waking and finding someone leaning over her, is to attack them.
Oh, wait! I forgot! She went to an all-girls boarding school! Yeah, she probably learnt the hard way that no-one should be allowed near your sleeping area lest you be pranked half-way to death!
Except Becky is shooting with the hand she needs to be using on the throttle. Dina needs to shoot while Becky does the driving. Dina can hold on with one hand and shoot with the other.
See, its funny cause she made it sound like she was saying “this joke never gets old” but instead of ‘joke’ she said ‘choke’ cause Sal is straggling them in the comic.
Though Mr. Pratchett and several arguments indicate that Carpe Jugulum is most appropriate translation for ‘seize the throat”. But that makes it too easy to decipher and not nearly as interesting.

Seems to be! Also, the next storyline title (starting late November) seems to be a reference to “Let it Go.” I’ve been listening to “Defying Gravity” a bunch in the days since I made the connection. I had mentioned in the comment section of a previous comic that it probably doesn’t bode well that the title of this storyline comes from a song that ends in a witch-hunt. There’s that, and the fact that this storyline starts with strangling.

It’s been my theory for a long while that Doom slipped in the shower and broke his neck back in 1971. All alleged Dooms since then have just been Doombots. Even if they themselves believed otherwise.
I don’t think so, but having the element of surprise does make it a lot easier. Not sure how much tougher it gets when someone tries to get free.
The sheer surprise of suddenly having even a little pressure on one’s trachea can inspire a deer-in-the-headlights moment.
If you can hook your thumb around the trachea and dig your fingers into the bank of the neck, not too hard. If you go for the standard choke in media where the web between your thumb and index hit the the trachea, no chance. Source: tried on myself when you asked (I didn’t press)
Am I the only one who doesn’t find this funny but rather aggravating and invasive? I’m really with Sal on this one: going into my room while I’m sleeping and watching my face while I’m unconscious is asking to get punched/choked.
She’ll eventually use her feet and it’ll get to a point where five people try to wake her up. E’rbody will like like “she can’t get all of us-” and then she headbutts someone.
Her feet would have to be pinning them to the ceiling by their necks to pull off a good choke unless she’s got freakish length and dexterity in her toes, but she also has knees and elbows that can inflict harm.
Key learning: When waking Sal Walkerton, do so with a large mug of black coffee, hot with two sugars. She asks for little in life and it’s only fair that you try to meet her half-way! What I want to know is why Becky and Joyce are waking her up; I’m assuming maybe that she’s overslept and in danger of being late for class or something.
So…! Looks like this will be a Sal-focus chapter, which could be interesting. Sal was one of the leading characters in It’s Walky but has had a bit more nuance in this strip.
You realize this is how Joyce and Becky woke each other up every sleepover their entire childhood? Plus an undisclosed number of Joyce-siblings at any given morning. ADORABLE!!!
Now it’s clear that Sal is ambidextrous. She can strangle people with either hand. Pretty useful considering she got stabbed in one of them while still a kid.

Seems to be! Also, the next storyline title (starting late November) seems to be a reference to “Let it Go.” I’ve been listening to “Defying Gravity” a bunch in the days since I made the connection. I had mentioned in the comment section of a previous comic that it probably doesn’t bode well that the title of this storyline comes from a song that ends in a witch-hunt. There’s that, and the fact that this storyline starts with strangling.

I don’t think so, but having the element of surprise does make it a lot easier. Not sure how much tougher it gets when someone tries to get free.
The sheer surprise of suddenly having even a little pressure on one’s trachea can inspire a deer-in-the-headlights moment.

what I can’t wait is for the next comic where 3 people wake up Sal and the same thing happens.
She’ll eventually use her feet and it’ll get to a point where five people try to wake her up. E’rbody will like like “she can’t get all of us-” and then she headbutts someone.
And then six people try it and she also buttbutts someone.
That would require Superheroine Comic Book levels of anatomical flexibility.
So one in each hand, one with each foot, a headbutt, a buttbutt, and then Joe attempts to wake her up as well and we get an accidental motorboating.
Her feet would have to be pinning them to the ceiling by their necks to pull off a good choke unless she’s got freakish length and dexterity in her toes, but she also has knees and elbows that can inflict harm.
I think that’s when she awakens to her psychic potential and murders them all with her mind.

So…! Looks like this will be a Sal-focus chapter, which could be interesting. Sal was one of the leading characters in It’s Walky but has had a bit more nuance in this strip.
